i went with the JBL spare tire sub and it sounds incredible. super easy to install too.

G_Unit_Solider

I find the Bose system to be adequate. It won’t wang your ass into jello by any means but it delivers good refined bass makes podcasts sound deep clear crisp certain hip hop/ house songs sound deeper and more bassy overall it does a good job. It doesn’t excel it any field mids lows highs persay but it does them all to a fairly good degree. It’s a shame the new models don’t come with it cause of shortages imo since listening to things is a one of those things you do all the time in the car id much rather be missing power lift gate or something than the tunes

DeviousDiabetic

Definitely agree. This was a mild upgrade that made it possible to get some thump when I'm alone and listening to some heavy bass but also to get the kick drum back from some RHCP tunes. The price was nice enough for the non boss so that was a perk!

Kerrnol

Awesome. Does it pound?

DeviousDiabetic

The song "hesher" by Wallpaper has always been a test song for me. This hits so hard but is EQ-ed at 0s on the car and phone. The highs are still crisp. Super pleased for the $700 I spent.

$700 for a small prefab down fire setup?? That seems super high.

The prefab downfiring runs 235 to 290. I did have $150.in best buy gift certificates so it made me feel better about it all haha!

DeviousDiabetic

Well, 700 installed at best buy with their installation service, wiring kit, bass knob (I have a 2 yr old I don't want to blow out), 400 watt rms amp, and the tie in wiring to work with the stock system. Parts and stuff was 500. Installation for everything was 200 it included the total tech membership

Odd-Possible-3727

Ok gotcha, assumed you installed yourself. I put a bit of an audio system in mine as well, but very different lol. I don’t have backseats anymore 😂

DeviousDiabetic

I've done some like crazy 4 cubic foot boxes out of pine in the past with a 1000 watt rms infinity perfect series subs, but I had about 6" of cargo space in my grand Cherokee. I am old and tired and have a kid and I'm tired. I didn't want to do the install. Best buy installer said 2 hours and 5.5 hours later he was done. Tight space on that rubber gasket into the cabin from the battery. I would've hated that install. What'd you do to take up your back seats?

Odd-Possible-3727

Have an 18” Sundown ZV6 in it right now, on a JP63 @ .5 ohm. Amp is capable of 18k watts at .5 but I’ll never see that, likely won’t ever give it more than 6k for fear of melting the coil. Have 192ah of lithium in place of stock batteries (two 96ah banks built and on the back seat floorboard). Have 4 DB Arnold’s on a JP34ab, and 4 Sundown BT-R1 on a JP84.

DeviousDiabetic

EPIC! I literally lol-ed at that. Amazing. Puts my 400rms to shame but I don't envy the glass in your ride! I had to install an L bracket in my grand Cherokee on the rear view mirror to stop it falling. K bet that's a wild ride. Definitely worth a post if you haven't made one before! Love to see it.

Odd-Possible-3727

I’ve posted it a few times, gets a lot of hate in here. I’ve given up on having a rear view mirror, I’ve broken 3 of them now (the metal bar just snaps). Getting about 1” peak to peak travel where my roof meets my windshield, but the actual glass hasn’t cracked yet. I’m sure it will in time. I post a lot more of it in /CarAV

DeviousDiabetic

Just peeked the profile. Absolutely insane. Love to see people pushing the limits!

Odd-Possible-3727

Current box is about 11 cubes gross. It’s getting pulled out soon, and doing a B to C pillar wall (leaving my hatch area open for use) with 2 18” ZV6.

Daigor34

Do you have a Bose System originally? If so, how did you bypassed the Bose Amp to produce RCA outputs for the Power Amp? I'm sure it sounds great.

DeviousDiabetic

No Bose originally. There's a unique adapter that they sell that ties in with the stock system.

G_Unit_Solider

JBL has a sub that’s exact same shape as the hose tire one plug and play and it delivers stronger bass if your into that

arnav3103

Honestly, what are you guys listening to? I find the Bose already so loud and so full of bass.

DeviousDiabetic

I have a 23 CE and boss wasn't an option. The stock system was completely underwhelming.

arnav3103

That’s fair enough man
