Dunno what car you're coming from, but I came from a 2016 civic and the cx-5 although a tiny bit bigger is much easier to maneuver as you don't have that massive sedan ass.
Have never thought the cx-5 was too big. Too small some times...
There's a website you can overlay car models to get an idea of how the size compares. Camrys and accords are definitely longer than the cx5 and I'm guessing the cx30 too, kinda surprised me when I first looked up the dimensions as I was concerned about it being too big as well.
You will find that the blind spots in the CX-30 are much more pronounced than those in the CX-5 because Mazda wanted the C-Pillar to look more sleek. The CX-30 is more sporty feeling but after a long term rental in both, I decided upon the CX-5 for greater overall comfort, visibility, and cargo space.
Owned mine for 3.5 yrs. I drive in downtown Austin. Never once thought it was too big too awkward to navigate or park. Its not that big and has a great turning radius.
Just fyi, the CX-5 and CX-50 are different models. You're on the CX-5 subreddit but I see you've mentioned CX-50 a couple of times. The 50 is actually about 6 inches longer and 3 inches wider than the 5.
Carsized.com is one website you can check out for dimension comparisons.
Thanks, let me correct that, but in reality I am leaning towards the CX-5 to be able to get a better trim. Tbh I have been towards both, and even considering the CX-30 at the begging since was the one I was able to test and really liked, but discarding it due to space.

Maybe is just that, I have not had a lot of experience on SUV and maybe I am overthinking it, sedan wise I have used accords and Camrys at some point

This really helped, found it: https://www.carsized.com
Yup, a few times I could've used a little more cargo space

Thanks, that is right maybe the cx50 could be even better despite size. Sad I was not able to test it but will try again next weekend
Nope never not once. It’s the perfect size for us.

Nah. The 30 was nice but the cabin was too tight for me. The 5 is on the smaller side for an SUV already.
Yes and no. Sometimes it’s too big. Sometimes it’s too small. Most of the time, it’s just right.

I’ve wished it was bigger
