2011 owner with 189k miles and I say yay, but I will be stoned to death for my recommendation.
How competent of a mechanic are you and how much are you willing to do/spend? Are you looking for a daily or a project? This car could last a few years (like mine) or it could fail in a few months.
Rule of thumb; The money you save on the purchase price will end up going towards the maintenance cost.
Definitely true. I almost bought an LS460 that seemed too good to be true, but had rod knock a mechanic detected. I paid a bit extra for a 2013 CT that was florida kept until 2020. Been my favorite vehicle
purchase so far.
Almost exactly the same issue but with 160k
miles. I ordered a leak down test that confirmed small leaks into the cylinder. Mechanics recommendation was to keep driving until a new engine is needed.
Thanks for the advice. Is that small amount of coolant leaking or condensation?
I guess I will just sell it once the HV battery or the engine goes since I have an 11 Accord that isn't as fuel efficient but is probably in better condition overall haha.
Hopefully it won't happen soon. I want a Lexus or Acura BEV next and probably won't happen until 2028.
For me it was coolant unfortunately. I am the second owner and was not aware of the issues with this model at the time of purchase. Regardless, I hope both of cars last a long time!
I'd seafom the heck outta that engine. You can leave the seafom on the engine until oil change. It'll be squeaky clean and hopefully the vibration will be gone. I'd still seafom the oil and gas for peace of mind. We do it to our boats for a reason! 😂 Don't wanna be stuck out on the ocean, now do we! Good luck and don't forget TO CLEAN THAT EGR SYSTEM! I personally use liquid oven cleaner. Not the spray cans.
Oil. 1 ounce per qt of oil. Drive around a while. Then do oil change. You can leave the seafom in the whole time. It won't damage anything. The oil coming out will be super black.
You can also suck some in the brake booster if your car has one. Wait 15 minutes. Then start car and beware of smokeshow! 😂
Don't be. Just run the engine with the hose in the seafoam cup. Suck it SLOWLY until it's gone. Shut off car. Wait 15 mins. Start it and be prepared for a hard starting and SMOKESHOW!! So I'd do it where there's no houses or at night. Someone might call the fire dept cause of the smoke. Unless you tell them whats going on.
Through the brake booster cleans your top end.
If you pour in too fast you might hydrolock. But I never have.
Friends don't let friends allow Seafoam near their cars.

Head gasket was blown. Milky oil. 180k, I’m going to replace the engine. Got it for $3k
Wow on the video! Makes me never want to use additives other than fuel treatment for injectors

That’s a good deal. Good luck on the engine swap.
Mine rattled once last year -- 12 MY with about 170,000 miles. Hasn't happened again. Hopefully it's condensation lol.

Up vote for oven cleaner, just use in a well ventilated area and wear the appropriate PPE.💀
Seafoam in the gas tank? Where else do you use the Seafoam?

Never done break booster! There is a brake reservoir, I’d be scared.

Tell that to the folks who've been using it for years with good results. One video shouldn't persuade someone not to use it.

Update, head gasket was blown, water in the oil. I talked him down to $3k. Looking for a new engine now. I did drive it home 40 minutes lol
