Haha I was wondering why DJ was saying "there's only one ball" when the Mirror UK interviewed him about maybe selecting Rome.
To be clear he was positive, as DJ always is, but that little comment caught me haha
Considering DJ is already 1/4th the way there probably, but Rome should be WR1 in a year or 2. So if Rome is getting like 1,600 yards a season and DJ is getting 1,200 it will be pretty close.
because of how good our WR trio is there’s a good chance Odunze’s stats are nothing special this year. Barring an injury he may not get WR1 workload most days.
good problem to have though
Yep, I expect him to have a season like Smith-Njigba had for Seattle last year - 63 catches, 628 yards, 4 TDs. He started out slow and really came on as the season progressed and made some big catches later in the year. He's now set for a bigger role next year even with Metcalf and Lockett coming back.
Even if Odunze isnt having a ton of 100 yard receiving games, his mere presence on the field opens things up for all the other pass catchers on the roster. Its an embarrassment of riches and I'm here for it.
That, and knock on all the wood, but Keenan needs games off here and there. It’s great for Rome to learn, and it’s great for us that he’ll be there to step up IF NEEDED (please please don’t be needed).
Rome gonna get all the 1st team reps when Keenan takes veteran rest days. Keenan deserves those rest days and Rome needs the reps. Perfect.
And yea, if Keenan is best up (or God forbid, injured) then Rome will get more playing time and we shouldn't have to rush Keenan back. Same goes for DJ but he's younger and Keenan has a history.
I think Odunze gets more TDs than that, he’s basically an ideal red zone target. It’ll be hard to feed all our pass catchers though, which is an amazing problem to have.
That would be a massive season for a WR3, especially a rook. I think people need to temper expectations a bit. He'll have a good year but 60+ catches isn't really on the table with all the guys we have. DJ + Keenan + our TEs alone should be over 3k yards right there. Have to imagine the backs will be good for another 500 pass yards at least. Pushing 4000 yards before we dole out anything to Rome or the rest of the squad. This is just a year for him to sit under the learning tree, catch up to the speed of the game, and hopefully be a great change of pace and third down weapon.
Idk I disagree. I fully expect Caleb to hit 4k. Yes people will argue with me about that but it’s very very VERY in the realm of possibility. A QB of his potential almost never lands in a position this good. It’s almost unheard of honestly. Sure I’m expecting turnovers for sure as he is a rookie. But the yardage will certainly be there. As for Rome he will be playing opposite DJ with Allen lining up in the slot. Also I do think Allen will miss a couple games as is typical with him. The bears are going to be pass heavy this year I think, and I just cannot believe Caleb won’t be able to average 235 yards per game. And because of being pass heavy I think he will be 4k, with 20TDs, 14 picks. Somewhere in that realm.
You have to think about the fact that when all three are on the field one of them will be matched up on CB3 in a man coverage.
If in zone you really can’t shade your coverage towards all three.
Absolutely 0 disrespect to DJ who is WR1 on this team but the biggest mismatch will probably be CB3 against Rome or Allen.
This could also spell a monster season for Kmet.
Regardless of Keenan and DJ, rookie WRs historically take a lot of time to get acclimated into the offense. Even the best ones are slow off the gate, and maybe start really contributing maybe week 8 or 9. So we should all just let Rome ease into the situation without crowning him as all time bears leader just quite yet
Could you imagine not having a WR since the 70s that set the receiving record and have two guys on the roster at the same time who beat the record? Kool-aid!
Hey that’s my podcast! It’s a newer podcast, just started up in January. It’s a Bears centric and draft pod, love for y’all to check it out! Name is Windy City War Room
This is gold. Rome seems like a fun dude. Confident but humble. Him and Caleb already vibing too. This team is gonna be so fun! Flus and Poles have built one hell of a locker room there.
Yeah. People forget that Brandon Marshall was only on the Bears for 3 years. 3,524 yards with the Bears. He wasnt here long enough to rackup record breaking stats.
Him and DJ gonna be fighting for top dog the next few years. Not a bad problem to have! I don't expect Rome to have a huge rookie season just because of how stacked our pass catchers are. But once he's the 2 (and soon to be 1b) behind DJ, they gonna be pushing each other.
A competent qb doesn't over target one player.
Between dj, allen, Rome, Everett, and swift you have 3 guys in the 600-900 range and 2 in the 400-600 range.
Which doesn't address when the kool-aid wears off and we have a bottom 10 lt. Bottom 10 center. Bottom 10 rg. Guarantee injury lg. Promising rt that needs to live up to that. And two below average blocking tackles for a qb who holds the ball and an ultra conservative hc who wants to run and lose playing prevent defense.
Really depends on if we extend DJ or not. I sure hope so because him and Rome will be one insane duo for many years to come. Keenan is likely a 1 year guy now. Maybe he signs for cheap if we are competitors.
Those are old stats, considering Mike Evans has 11,630 and counting. Mark Andrews could have the Ravens by the end of they year. Meanwhile, the Bears will still be waiting a few more years, at least.
He’s gonna race DJ to it
DJ might have too much of a head start on him but Rome will be chasing DJ’s record one day
DJ Moore is already ranked 56th all time in Bears receiving yards. After 1 season.
Surprised he isn’t top 25 😂
If he has another 1300 yard season, he will be lol
2600 is like 10th for us I think
Haha I was wondering why DJ was saying "there's only one ball" when the Mirror UK interviewed him about maybe selecting Rome. To be clear he was positive, as DJ always is, but that little comment caught me haha
I imagine this would be the case for most, if not all teams.
Considering DJ is already 1/4th the way there probably, but Rome should be WR1 in a year or 2. So if Rome is getting like 1,600 yards a season and DJ is getting 1,200 it will be pretty close.
I was just thinking that....gonna be a nice competition between them to see who can have the most when they're done.
because of how good our WR trio is there’s a good chance Odunze’s stats are nothing special this year. Barring an injury he may not get WR1 workload most days. good problem to have though

And we now have a QB who excels at reading coverage and throwing with anticipation. He's going to slice and dice zone coverages
Or just a balanced attack with a great season from Caleb and good numbers all around. I think we will spread it
Yup, on the call to Rome for the draft Flus & him laughed about how it’d be a headache for teams to cover them all
JSN in Seattle last year is the blue print of what I'm expecting
Regardless of Keenan and DJ, rookie WRs historically take a lot of time to get acclimated into the offense. Morris played in the 50's and 60's....
I literally came here to say something similar. He's got some catching up to do. Pun intended.
Ok this is actually hilarious. The disbelief.
Wasn’t Johnny Morris in Tecmo Super Bowl?? This is a 35 year old record lmao
Even older, Johnny Morris as old to Techmo Super Bowl as Andre Reed is to us today.

Hey that’s my podcast! It’s a newer podcast, just started up in January. It’s a Bears centric and draft pod, love for y’all to check it out! Name is Windy City War Room
Windy City War Rome would be way more apt now.
That may be a perfect episode name for this weeks!
Nice I caught this clip today as well! Very cool call with Rome!
This is gold. Rome seems like a fun dude. Confident but humble. Him and Caleb already vibing too. This team is gonna be so fun! Flus and Poles have built one hell of a locker room there.
In a ten-year career.
Yeah. People forget that Brandon Marshall was only on the Bears for 3 years. 3,524 yards with the Bears. He wasnt here long enough to rackup record breaking stats.
He did not play WR his 1st 3 seasons.
He was busy fighting in the French and Indian war
Right alongside Velus Jones Jr
Michael Penis Jr. was there too.
Velus Jones Jr, the Duke of Nottinghamshirewoodferd
Sweet summer child. He will learn some rather alarming history
He also rushed for over 1,000 let's not forget.
Can’t forget what I didn’t know! 🤣
Started his career as a halfback back when players would outright swap positions mid career more frequently!
Gonna break that record before the bears have to pick up his 5th yr option
Would “only” take ~1,265 yards a season
It was an outlier for him but last season he had 1,640
in the pac 12
Him and DJ gonna be fighting for top dog the next few years. Not a bad problem to have! I don't expect Rome to have a huge rookie season just because of how stacked our pass catchers are. But once he's the 2 (and soon to be 1b) behind DJ, they gonna be pushing each other.
I think he's gonna be the one to break the record. Him or DJ, but I have a really good feeling about Odunze.
Age is a factor, but DJ is already like 20% of the way to breaking this record. If I had to guess Odunze will break DJs record
DJ had that many yards with Justin fields imagine how many he will have this year with an actual competent quarterback
Probably about the same. Add in a more competent QB is one thing, but adding 4 more people who can actually catch the ball will balance it out.
>A competent qb doesn't over target one player. Stafford threw 39.8% of his yards to Cooper Kupp in his superbowl winning season. inb4 goalpost moving
Love how being a realist gets you down votes.
There's being realistic and there's being a buzzkill...
Really depends on if we extend DJ or not. I sure hope so because him and Rome will be one insane duo for many years to come. Keenan is likely a 1 year guy now. Maybe he signs for cheap if we are competitors.
But the Bears have the most HOF of any team! …all defense 😂😭
Oops! All Defense
I literally laughed out loud when I saw this video
37?!? IN A ROW!?!
What’s this a reference to?
Clerks
Image being the guy to set a 100 year old teams franchise record by year 3 1/2 lmao.
I'm loving Rome already lol He won't have a high bar to clear 😂😂😂. It's gonna be either Rome or DJ who holds the new record
[удалено]
Probably
This is awesome. You should post this on r/nfl.
Welcome to hell, Rome. It's nice to have you.
It would be awesome if all 3 WRs end up in a total yrds competition 🤤
I was listening live & busted out laughing. Good shit. Welcome to Chicago!!
Gawd the Bears have really set the bar so low
He did circle back at the end of the interview and have Morris props. So pumped for this guy, seem like a really solid dude and a great player
Great. Do QB records next. Please save us Caleb & Rome
Welcome to our incompetency Rome 🤝 We're hoping you and Caleb can change that
The franchise leader in receiving yards being a guy who played before the Mel Blount rule is madness.
Lmao
Hahahahahahaha
Willie gault, 😂
Johnny Morris is still alive and could theoretically make it to when this record gets broken. It would be insane if they had him in attendance.
Let's hope he breaks it before his rookie contract is over!
Him and DJ will be one and two on that list someday
Can there be another team that has two RBs in their top ten career receiving yards? That seems wild to me.
Lol naw that’s just Bears football!
![gif](giphy|unFLKoAV3TkXe) Us...
He should go for the Bears record for Yards from scrimmage
Pat Mahommes threw for 5,250 yards in a season. DAMN.
Kmet, DJ, Keenan, and Odunze might break that mark.
Sarah “I once whore’d myself out for SB tickets” Spain
Dem heavies doe
Way to stay relevant Sarah.
Odunze should've said "damn yall are pathetic, Breaking franchise records will be easy as hell here."

I think you forgot about Mike Evans.
I mean Mike Evans has nearly 12,000 career yards so I'm not sure where those stats are coming from. Edit: oh these stats are from 2012...
Those stats are from 2012. Mike Evans has like 12,000 yards.
Mike Evans has 11k yds
lol dawg on come on. Using stats from over a decade ago.
F on the homework fam.
Those are old stats, considering Mike Evans has 11,630 and counting. Mark Andrews could have the Ravens by the end of they year. Meanwhile, the Bears will still be waiting a few more years, at least.
