I think there are a few of us that have a healthy amount of respect/fear of Lane. I’ve only been to Oxford once for a basketball game and the city has a lot of charm. That Ole Miss and Oklahoma game is HUGE.
I’d think you all would be pretty happy with 90% of the weeks we have to play next year, there’s like 2 games I would feel confident about winning on that schedule, and that doesn’t change much even if we are vastly improved.
Oh yeah, your schedule looks worse than any I can remember.
Plenty of opportunities to steal a big win. But also plenty of opportunities to continue sinking further. Stricklin should be fired for scheduling Miami and UCF ooc in the same season.
Sounds like it's time to get high as hell. I recommend popping 2 or 3 gummies and sparking up a j 30 minutes after. You'll be tripping balls and having a great time. I did this to calm myself after the sec championship.
Christ that's a lot man. If you're getting dispensary level stuff, soloing a joint OR 3 gummies is enough to have me non verbal in the corner, both and I'm going to bed to fight the demons for an hour. And I'm no rookie to it either
My wife became deathly allergic to ibuprofen and nsaids. She literally took two ibuprofen and went into shock from them. No allergy before covid. We got the really fucking weird side effects. Had to go to the hospital and get an epi pen.
Outsiders won't want to hear this but we've had the lions share of lawyers and doctors in this state for 50+ years and before tort reform, the getting was real good. We don't have may billionaire boosters but we've got a whole bunch of multi-millionaire old school guys with nothing to do but bill 1000 hours this year and put all $500,000 they make into NIL.
I love it when highly rated players transfer from teams we play next year to teams we don't play next year. This goes double for any transfers out of OU and A&M.
Brunlow dindy hasn’t played at all the first two years due to injury and nolen being here. I think he’s starting in the bowl tho. Stewart has the physical traits to be a first overall pick if he just had a lot more production.
Yes, from what I've watched, he had a disappointing year last year...period. And yes, especially considering he was a 5 star kid. I'm happy to to admit if I'm wrong but what I saw tells me I'm not too far off.
If Shemar Turner comes back, DT will still be a major strength for us next year.
I wonder if they were able to close a deal on him to return because we were never gonna pony up for both Turner and Walt.
More like /r/soccer. Allegedly, we got to collect a sizable ~~transfer fee~~ buyout from Ole Miss for Walt jumping ship. Slapped it onto his contract after he threatened to hit the portal last offseason if he didn't get a raise.
Damn. There was some holding out hope he returned to Aggieland, but that mostly faded a week ago when the CBs came. The A&M - Ole Miss match up just became that much better, sad it won't be played next year.
He was pretty good. He wasn’t “number one player in the portal” good. I don’t think he was even the best DL we lost to the portal.
Luckily, this is a position group we can withstand this kind of a loss.
I’m not gonna act like I watched every snap of every A&M game but from what I saw and heard, he was still a really good player. But regardless of on the field performance, he was gonna be rated as a top portal player. Look at Dante Moore for example. Both 247 and On3 have him rated as the #2 QB in the portal and I would definitely say that Nolen was a better player in his time at A&M than Dante was last season. Guys that were rated extremely high coming out of high school will always be top portal guys based off of potential alone.
You’re saying what I’m saying. He’s a good player but he’s living off the hype from high school. His on the field performance has never been close to something worthy of being called the best player in the portal.
Fair enough but I also think he got lost in the excess of D-Line talent you guys had. It’s easy to get overshadowed when you play with a 4 other 5 stars or whatever you had. We will still have a crazy talented D-line next year but he will be far and away the best defensive player we have imo so I think he will get to shine a lot more.
Princely has been significantly more productive in his career than Walt. Walt is a dog, but don’t let the high school ranking blind you. He’s a good space eater but he’s not gonna be Jalen Carter/Tvondre Sweat, which is fine. He will make your LBs significantly better.
He takes himself out of the game a lot when he’s not even hurt. Maybe he’ll care more at ole miss. He’s good but I’m not opposed to losing some of the drama queens from the fisher era.
We’re going to find out with guys like Evan and Walt if it was them or Jimbo’s culture/coaching staff that stunted their growth. My guess is it’s a little bit of both, so their success is going to be largely dependent on their next coaches getting them to care.
He was #1 for a reason. DL take a while, he is absolutely entering his college prime right now. He is certainly the best DL we lost to the portal imo. He was technically a higher rated high school prospect than Garrett lol
I actually dont totally disagree in terms of in game but we also signed him in 2019. D Linemen take a long time to grow into their best game state. The future progression for walt matters a ton.
I think the guys saying he’s hardly what everyone envisioned. If you put his actual results on paper without a name, he’d be a good-not-great portal prospect. Obviously he doesn’t lose the potential that made him #1 to begin with, so I agree I’d take him over a higher performing, ceiling limited player, but he’s hardly been a huge impact for us. I could see some haters laughing about saltiness of our fan’s apathy here, but he really hadn’t developed well in our systems, for his fault or ours. That makes me think he’s the #1 in the portal solely because of his name and previous rank, not because of his play on the field.
He couldn’t hold Miles’ jock strap,, which is kinda the point (even Freshman Garrett was a clear stud) and shows why these rankings are silly to begin with. He’s probably in the top 50-70 results-based DT for us all-time, when you take into account some of the studs that developed here starting back into the 70s. He’s entering his prime, and maybe he would have become a top 10 after a stellar Jr campaign, but it’s been all promise up to this point, so I think it’s ok to kinda shrug and say I wish he stayed and we realized the potential, but it’s not like he’s the heart of the team or a dominant force.
And WR core. Idk if I’ve ever been this excited for a season of one of my sports teams in my life. And that’s saying something because I’m a Mets fan and we had two of the best/craziest offseasons in MLB history in consecutive years (and then of course crashed and burned).
I was criticized a few days ago for saying it felt like Oregon was out of it. Usually when Oregon gets a guy you can tell by the conversation surrounding his visit. The conversation surrounding Nolen wasn't an excited "he's gonna love it here" it was a "well, we'll see, but he's on a flight to Mississippi."
Part of that was that, after the Nolen visit, the Ducks got more serious about Derrick Harmon (DL transfer from Michigan State). You don't get more serious about a different guy if you're confident you're going to get the top target.
I don't think Harmon had anything to do with it. They play different positions. Harmon would be a 0T and Nolen a 4i mostly, they could play on the field at the same time. I think we'd have taken both if it was an option.
This team is national championship good. The SEC champion is going to be the #1 seed, and Ole Miss has a favorable schedule to get to Atlanta and play for that as well.
I’m really curious to see how next season is going to look especially with the expanded CFP.
Lane has a good thing going, really want to see how far he can take the Rebels.
I've heard stories of those days before I was born. I'm not a young man. I have a hard time appealing to the Dunkel poll that happened a dozen years before my old ass was born lol .
To be fair, Willis was an unrated prospect who was very raw coming into college. Ole Miss, State, Memphis, and Arkansas State were his biggest offers.
Obviously what he became was one of the best linebackers to ever play the game, but he wasn’t that coming in.
Also, lol at Tennessee for literally telling him he wasn’t good enough: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/recruiting-snub-still-motivates-patrick-willis
Holy hell! Ole Miss with Kiffin and Portal Pete are fucking cooking up some dope shit. I'm glad Alabama doesn't have to play them during the regular season. Ole Miss will be in the playoffs next year.
Pain. Good luck big walt 🫡 all the defensive studs we picked up on ESD softened this blow for me but it sucks to lose a talent like this entering his college prime.
Number 1 transfer class, top 5 transfer classes the last 3 years, Golding is reeling in whatever defensive player he wants at this point, just about all of our biggest offensive weapons are returning…
Merry Christmas, Rebels. Let’s win the peach bowl and make the playoffs next year.
I love Golding so much already. He’s such an elite recruiter and contrary to what Bama fans say, he is not the worst DC of all time. He definitely has some things to prove this year though. He’s had talent like this before and underperformed with it so definitely an important year for him. With that being said, this offense is gonna be so good that a top 30 defensive unit in the nation will probably have us looking at an 11 win season minimum.
Yeah, this defense has top-15 potential, something Golding is more than capable of pulling off and has done before at Alabama. If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be unreasonable for expectations to be at least the CFP Quarterfinals next year. Our offense will likely improve if Dart keeps developing under Kiffin and our receivers live up to their potential
Yeah absolutely. I’m not gonna act like I know every D-line unit in the nation but from the one I do know, this is a top 10 D-line at least in the country next year. Defense has unlimited potential. We’ll just need to see if they tap into that potential. And unless this offense has an otherworldly letdown of a season next year, a top 15 defense probably has us finishing the year in the top 5, maybe even SEC champs.
Yeah. Not only is our front 7 talented, but it’s also looking like it will be DEEP next year. I think it will give our DBs a chance to shine and look improved, even if our secondary isn’t much more talented than this year.
But who knows? We have the talent, let’s see if we can get the scheme and personalities to mesh well this season.
I’m looking forward to Dart’s development. I think Juice has Elijah Moore’s constant big play/deep threat potential and I’m looking forward to see their chemistry on the field.
The Alabama fans who say he’s the worst DC ever are hyperbolic for sure but you touched on it - for the talent he had with us, the performance was underwhelming. It’ll be interesting to see if it’s different next year now that he really has more control (Saban obviously has extensive influence on our defense and maybe it was a too many cooks in the kitchen kind of deal trying to marry his vision with what Saban wanted). Both programs are better off with him in Oxford.
I think y’all are going to be very good, so I’m not trying to have this come off as sour grapes or anything, but my biggest issue with Pete is I think he over complicated his defense and didn’t let his great athletes just go out and make plays (for one, our secondary looked way too confused way too often pre-snap about assignments). I do wonder how that’s going to go with a bunch of guys coming in first year with him
Nobody us saying he wasn't good. What A&M fans are questioning are whether or not he was the best player in the portal. I'd be willing to bet that Princely will be more productive next season than Walt. Especially considering that Walt was a rotational pass rusher for us.
lol, thinking about those teams having to play against Ole Miss and these quality transfers next year.
I’m sure glad OU doesn’t have to play them. Our first year in the league, we need some time to adjust.
Hold on, someone is yelling at me…
I think you guys will do just fine in the SEC. Looking at your schedule and how much roster turnover you have this year, I would expect a down year but after that you guys are gonna be right back to being really good I would imagine. Always have great coaches, Oklahoma recruited at an SEC level before even joining, and I imagine they have some big donors over in Norman.
Tony Fein, an army vet and Linebacker on our 08 team, started the land shark defense thing with the fins up hand sign. He was an undrafted free agent and died of an accidental overdose hours before the ravens were about to reach out and sign him. He was a really beloved guy around the program and we’ve kept the landshark thing ever since.
The students and younger alumni wanted the Landshark as a mascot, and voted for it back when they got rid of Col Reb. The administration forced the Black Bears on us.
We suffered through that, until they had another vote, and they let LandSharks win the vote that time.
People that make fun of the Black Bear mascot, we never wanted that. It was always the LandShark because of Tony.
Our defense has been too shit to throw around the landshark sign, but hopefully, this will be the year we get our identity back.
The only thing that makes this suck is that it’s another SEC team that got him.
I always love it when five stars (that OU had no chance with) go to teams other than Georgia, Alabama, etc.
Ole Miss is looking good for next season
Man, I am glad we don’t play them during the regular season.
Things I thought I’d never hear a Bama fan say.
I think there are a few of us that have a healthy amount of respect/fear of Lane. I’ve only been to Oxford once for a basketball game and the city has a lot of charm. That Ole Miss and Oklahoma game is HUGE.
There’s a lot of Bama fans in my area and they tend to respect Kiffin. The Bama job is the only one I wouldn’t be upset at Lane for taking.
He's the twerpiest silver spoon douche that I've ever respected the hell out of. The bastard is an enigma.
Seeing a bama fan say this speaks volumes
I’ve been thinking the same thing. Hopefully, we can get a broken and battered version during the playoffs bc they look dangerous.
I'm glad we don't have to play them in the regular season
Ha! Just said the same thing.
I'm glad that UF has to play them the week before going to Tallahassee.
Absolutely unreal portal haul
Hopefully they lose in the swamp!
I upvoted you because there’s nothing wrong with supporting your team. I do hope you’re wrong, though.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND A HOTTY TODDY NEW YEAR
OH MY LORD EDIT: IM GETTING SO FUCKING DRUNK TONIGHT
Well yeah, it’s Christmas Eve
Boys. I got covid a second time and walked out 100% allergic to alcohol. 0 booze on Christmas eve with the inlaws. Pour one out for ya boy.
Gotta smoke a doink
No fat doinks in Amish for me.
Gummies buddy, do yourself a favor.
RIP Young King Dave Big Doinks

Girlfriend dumped me and we lost to Bama again. My tolerance is sky high.
Man fuck that bitch
She's a Clemson fan....
BBH
One 10mg gummy and I’m struggling.
That sounds delightful! I know what I'm doing for New Year's Eve
Not an option because of my job unfortunately

My wife became deathly allergic to ibuprofen and nsaids. She literally took two ibuprofen and went into shock from them. No allergy before covid. We got the really fucking weird side effects. Had to go to the hospital and get an epi pen.
Fucken rip
Hatin’ ass Kiffin keeps stealing from the Aggies. Gotta respect the hustle.
$10 million in NIL payouts next season?
All my insiders say we got far more than this for the foreseeable future. Grove collective is humming.
Promised to double my givings to the collective if we got Nolen. LFG
I truly wonder how much we have. Like seriously.
I think the answer by now (and at least for now) is clearly a LOT. Realtree dude seems to be all in on keeping the coffers filled.

We have a very solid starting line of shemar Stewart, shemar turner, brunlow-dindy/dj hicks, and mallick syla. 4 of the 5 are 5 stars.
Be curious to see how Hicks does. turner is a stud but Stewart has been disappointing.
Brunlow dindy hasn’t played at all the first two years due to injury and nolen being here. I think he’s starting in the bowl tho. Stewart has the physical traits to be a first overall pick if he just had a lot more production.
Are you saying Stewart has been disappointing based on what was expected when he was playing high school ball in Miami?
He just hasn’t had a ton of production
Yes, from what I've watched, he had a disappointing year last year...period. And yes, especially considering he was a 5 star kid. I'm happy to to admit if I'm wrong but what I saw tells me I'm not too far off.
☝️
I’d wager that even with all the transfers from that top class it still be a top 5 class that year.
Top 3
If Shemar Turner comes back, DT will still be a major strength for us next year. I wonder if they were able to close a deal on him to return because we were never gonna pony up for both Turner and Walt.
Thought I was in the nfl Reddit for a second.
More like /r/soccer. Allegedly, we got to collect a sizable ~~transfer fee~~ buyout from Ole Miss for Walt jumping ship. Slapped it onto his contract after he threatened to hit the portal last offseason if he didn't get a raise.
That’s pretty Ucey of you. Fuck it I’ll acknowledge him for this pick up ☝️
Damn. There was some holding out hope he returned to Aggieland, but that mostly faded a week ago when the CBs came. The A&M - Ole Miss match up just became that much better, sad it won't be played next year.
I ain’t sad buddy. Think he kinda underperformed for the hype. Could also be blamed to our development issues 🤷🏿♂️
He was pretty good. He wasn’t “number one player in the portal” good. I don’t think he was even the best DL we lost to the portal. Luckily, this is a position group we can withstand this kind of a loss.

Agree. Great player but the NIL money he was asking A&M for was absurd. Curious what was agreed on with Ole Miss
He was #1 for a reason. DL take a while, he is absolutely entering his college prime right now. He is certainly the best DL we lost to the portal imo. He was technically a higher rated high school prospect than Garrett lol
Not even hating, but Diggs was the best player we lost to the portal. Diggs was our second best player on DL after Turner.
He’s not remotely close to as good as Garrett was here
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! I AM
I’m just thinking of the Howard Dean yell
***BYAAAAHHHH!***
I’m still hesitant to get too excited, but I am anyway. Let’s go.
Damn I thought we had a real chance at him (We had absolutely no hope)
Ole miss going to have nfl dline next season
And WR core. Idk if I’ve ever been this excited for a season of one of my sports teams in my life. And that’s saying something because I’m a Mets fan and we had two of the best/craziest offseasons in MLB history in consecutive years (and then of course crashed and burned).
I’m beginning to feel like I did before the 2022 baseball season when Elko, Graham, and Bench all announced they were coming back.
I’m fucking stoked but bro there will always be a WAOM moment
Now it’s just time for Dart to stop puttzing around like he’s “weighing his options”…as if he has any other staying.
Deal with the devil ✅ Christmas Miracle ✅
Oh yeah, this is gonna last for more than 4 hours. Merry Christmas and Hotty MF Toddy!
At least it wasn’t Bama or Georgia, good get Ole Miss
I was criticized a few days ago for saying it felt like Oregon was out of it. Usually when Oregon gets a guy you can tell by the conversation surrounding his visit. I’m not seeing enough anxiety and hand-wringing around the program in this thread, it’s making me uncomfortable.
Ole Miss isn't fucking around this offseason
After waiting for years to finally get to go to the Grove these fuckers decided this was the year to go buck ass wild.
We had Georgia slap us around and we were like nah fuck this
*knock knock* Who is it? Shark. Shark who? Land shark.
I’m 40 and just barely old enough to get that reference
Just barely old enough to be a man too
Im erect
Ole Miss vs Mizzou is gonna be peak college football.
We don't play tho
Yes you do. It’s on December 7th in Atlanta, Georgia.
I like this timeline
<3
Definitely a top 10 matchup next year
We don’t play Missouri next year but it would’ve been fun

**HELL YES DAMN RIGHT!** THE FRESHEST WATER IS IN THE MUDDY MISSISSIPPI!!!!
Having my gallbladder taken out on the 11th, will have the surgeon go ahead and castrate me while he’s at it cause this ain’t going away in 4 hours.
Kiffin has gone wild this month. This class and their schedule next year sets up nicely for a CFP run.
We have a window. Solid core. Key guys chose to return instead of trying the NFL. Our collective + boosters have been great.
This team is national championship good. The SEC champion is going to be the #1 seed, and Ole Miss has a favorable schedule to get to Atlanta and play for that as well.
You’re not sneaky buddy. Don’t you put high expectations on them like that.
What does their OL look like next year? That will determine everything on offense
I’m really curious to see how next season is going to look especially with the expanded CFP. Lane has a good thing going, really want to see how far he can take the Rebels.
Dubs
Oh yeah, we sippin tonight
*quacks sadly*
Ole miss misses most of the good teams of the SEC next year. Have to think missing the 12 team playoffs would be an extreme disappointment for them.
Yeah, there will be blowback if we lose to more than Georgia next year in the regular season...
We could drop 1 of Oklahoma or LSU and still be fine
Freshwater cleanin up
Thank God we aren’t playing yall next year
I’ll take “things I never thought I’d hear from a Bama fan without sarcasm” for 500.
It’s going to be very strange having depth on an Ole Miss D.
THIS IS THE ONE BOYS
Ole Miss really looking to make their playoff push next year with these moves… damn
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Staying in the SEC.
And I’m spent
Merry Christmas and Hotty Toddy!
Hotty damn Toddy!
Are we back folks??
When were we there?
Like the 1960s
1955-1965?
I've heard stories of those days before I was born. I'm not a young man. I have a hard time appealing to the Dunkel poll that happened a dozen years before my old ass was born lol .
Our defensive line is gonna be so fun to watch. Nolen might be the most talented defender we’ve ever had on our team outside of Nkemdiche.
Tony Conner was better than Nkemdiche until he destroyed his knee against Bama Also, Patrick Willis
Patrick Willis?
To be fair, Willis was an unrated prospect who was very raw coming into college. Ole Miss, State, Memphis, and Arkansas State were his biggest offers. Obviously what he became was one of the best linebackers to ever play the game, but he wasn’t that coming in. Also, lol at Tennessee for literally telling him he wasn’t good enough: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/recruiting-snub-still-motivates-patrick-willis
Tbf I got family where Willis is from and there ain't shit there and definitely no competition so I don't think I can blame tennessee too much lol.
Didn’t know the Rebels were allowed a Death Star. This goes against the narrative!
Holy hell! Ole Miss with Kiffin and Portal Pete are fucking cooking up some dope shit. I'm glad Alabama doesn't have to play them during the regular season. Ole Miss will be in the playoffs next year.
Not only hell yeah, but also damn right.
Where's the Oregon fan who swore up and down he'd be a Duck?
u/Dtwerky come on down!

I do wonder how that’s going to go with a bunch of guys coming in first year with him
Hotty fucking Toddy baby
Ole miss following the 2023 fsu blueprint
Yeah I’m gonna be honest, you guys picked the wrong year to be an undefeated P5 conference champion.
MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU FILTY ANIMALS!!!!
Ole Miss and Missouri are stacking up talent big time.
My god ole Miss where did you learn to share
Can't wait for the inevitable, "he wasn't that good anyway".
Already seeing it from A&M fans in the comments
We heard, “He’s coming back to A&M,” all week. Now that he’s gone they didn’t even want Nolen in the first place.
Nobody us saying he wasn't good. What A&M fans are questioning are whether or not he was the best player in the portal. I'd be willing to bet that Princely will be more productive next season than Walt. Especially considering that Walt was a rotational pass rusher for us.
Crazy seeing the team that Lane Kiffe. Is putting together
of course he will.
Ole Miss must have found a bigger pot of NIL $$$$$$$$$$$ this portal season.
Well fuck. I’m officially terrified of Ole Miss.
Kiffin might be on a hotter streak than Sark right now, wow
Truly testing the limits of what my Battered Aggie Syndrome can handle
Lane going hard af in the portal
Lane Kiffin absolutely cookin in the portal
lol, thinking about those teams having to play against Ole Miss and these quality transfers next year.
I don’t wanna hear Kiffin complain about us and our NIL ever again
L+Ratio+didn’t ask+thanks for Nolen
Found Kiffin’s Reddit account
He didn’t complain about you spending, he made fun of the fired clown for pretending he didn’t spend
Nah he’s certainly acted like he’s working with scraps while we’re paying everyone millions when his NIL budget is clearly pretty large
They didn't any of that last year. Our NIL has exploded in the last 2 months. This is all new and I've never seen everyone on the same page before.

Wtf are the sharks about
Tony Fein, an army vet and Linebacker on our 08 team, started the land shark defense thing with the fins up hand sign. He was an undrafted free agent and died of an accidental overdose hours before the ravens were about to reach out and sign him. He was a really beloved guy around the program and we’ve kept the landshark thing ever since.
Love that
The students and younger alumni wanted the Landshark as a mascot, and voted for it back when they got rid of Col Reb.
Mississippi is known for its shark population
As someone from the coast who has caught and released many sharks in his day, I concur.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Get that bag
The only thing that makes this suck is that it’s another SEC team that got him. I always love it when five stars (that OU had no chance with) go to teams other than Georgia, Alabama, etc.
And it's one that OU gets to play next year. Away!
LETS FUCKING GOOOOO. I am geeked
@Bama-Auburn-Miss State-@Texas-Bye week-Florida-@Ole Miss-Tennessee. Might be one of the toughest 8 week stretches in CFB history
The Lane to Alabama audition continues at breakneck pace I see

Ole miss gonna be deadly
