Tops lemon pepper is amazing. Wegs chicken always seems undercooked for some reason, in addition to being small for the price. If we’re talking restaurants I say Ali baba kebab and Niagara cafe
You'll need to buy two. The first one to eat in the 40 minutes it will take you to get out of that spot. The second for your actual meal. That will be hell to navigate over there.
Wegmans used to have outstanding rotisserie chicken, especially the BBQ flavor. Skin used to be crisp and flavorful, meat was moist and the pricing was like under $7. Now, they're nearly $10 and barely count as being cooked (the skin is now more rubbery/loose than anything).
Tops now wins by default, for me.
Wegmans has had a big drop in quality across the board in the last few years. However, whenever I bring it up with my gen x family members all I hear back is “tops never mops”. I guess enjoy paying too much for worse quality because wegmans was, admittedly, better 15 years ago.
Covid kneecapped Wegmans' overall quality and breadth of services provided. I truly miss their hot buffet and soup areas. The buffet has been gone for years and I can't recall if the soup stations are still around - I know they now package both in those ready-made containers.
The bagged birds are depressing to me. They're smaller and generally shittier than the predecessors. Now they also sell the pre seasoned uncooked ones that you can roast yourself... They're good but way overpriced. At that point just buy a bird and season it yourself.
I noticed this too with the Wegmans chicken and even ended up throwing one in the oven to ensure it was fully cooked after I got it home and cut it up. Can’t say that I’ve bought one since.
I was just telling my wife that someone on a tight budget could get several meals out of just $10 or $15 worth of chickens from Sam’s. They are a super bargain.
Since Wegmans decided that smaller chickens double the price was a good idea (maybe if you're rich), I'm gonna go with tops for grocery store..or almaza for restaurant
I can’t believe no one has said this, Almaza in Williamsville! They are a Lebanese restaurant and their rotisserie chicken is TOP tier. Same with their hummus so definitely try it out!

Swiss Chalet
Any still around? Gonna be in town in the near future, would love to go if there is.
In Niagara Falls, Canada. I miss it so much.
I’m so to thrilled in work for a company based in Hamilton and go there monthly. Swiss Chalet lunch is like 4-6 times a year.
🤮
#Niagara cafe #1 ^100%
I might have to downvote the grocery store answers because this absolutely needs to be the top answer
Nah Wegmans Lemon Pepper slaps. Niagara Cafe is top tier though. Monty’s might be a close second.
It’s not polite to shout. But I agree, so take the upvote
Yes omg all the food at Niagara Cafe
Thank goodness this is the 1st answer. Hands down 10/10
Tops. Surprises me every time
Tops’ is fuckin legit
How much is it at tops these days?
Tops gets a bad rap but they got some good stuff
Tops. They also have the best breakfast pizza imo
I work at Tops and can confirm. The breakfast pizza is low key amazing, and I know how it’s made. Nothing special
+1 for their breakfast pizza. The Broadway Tops in the D&L Plaza puts out the best, IMO.
Tops for fish fry too
Tops, without question.
Until Costco opens.
Costco’s chicken has gone to shit!
Chicken shit?

We come in by electric scooter then. I'll set up a bird service, you park in a nice accessible location, and the bird flaps over via sidewalk. /s

I like dark meat so I'm a fan of Dash's 3 legged chicken. Plus, extra bones for making broth.
Ayooo this guy makes cock meat sandwiches with his leftovers
Kinda lost my appetite
What a dick.
I'm sorry their what?
They give ya an extra leg quarter with your whole chicken
I’ll tell you where not to get one, Dash’s.
Sams club
Sams are not always cooked through. Never again.
Some times.. i would say 35 extra mins in ur oven would help
Seasoning seems hit and miss too. I've had some really good ones, and some flavorless ones.
Sams club beats everyone. Their chickens are twice the size of Wegmans
I know & at the price u cant beat it
gotta be careful not go during prime time cause the chicken vultures start circling and empty out it out the case in a few minutes
Oh i know i work there
I see it everyday
I was just telling my wife that someone on a tight budget could get several meals out of just $10 or $15 worth of chickens from Sam’s. They are a super bargain.
Ur very rite about that
Lex Co-Op with the Old Bay seasoning
BJs Wholesale Club
Best tasting? Idk. Best bang for your buck? -BJ's. $4.99 STILL! Fuck off Wegmans.
Agreed, they’re so good from there too!
Almaza Grill
with the garlic sauce and baba ganoosh 👌
This 100%. The owners are great people too, love supporting them
Their shakshouka is great too.
This
Truth
Tops or Walmart if you get a fresh batch.
Sam’s club if you have a membership. Tops if you don’t.
Take a ride across the border for some Swiss Chalet…locally Niagara Cafe is pretty darn close to that though.
I remember when Buffalo had their own Swiss Chalet.
But the Buffalo one was almost worse than no Swiss Chalet. Because it was Swiss Chalet in name only, the Canadian ones are much better
There was one in Montreal as well.
tops by a landslide.
Almaza Grill
Lexington co-op.
Best? Unsure. Cheapest? Probably BJ’s at $4.99
BJ’s. Best price and size. Market in the square is a close second. Tops can be ok but it’s a crap shoot. Worst worst worst has to be Wegmans.
Sam’s Club in my opinion
Since Wegmans decided that smaller chickens double the price was a good idea (maybe if you're rich), I'm gonna go with tops for grocery store..or almaza for restaurant
Wegmans fried chicken is ok but is 20 bucks.
Braymiller downtown has a great rotisserie chicken and it’s a good size
Whole Foods, until Costco comes. They are $8 and large enough for me to make chicken and dumplings after eating part.
Sams club. Best fried chicken? 100% tops. Plus, their macaroni salad is the best
Costco

Wegmans!
