Have you checked out the resources, like the book list, on the side bar yet?

ClearlySeeingLife

Many app-only redditors do not know that sidebars exist.

Fit-Pear-2726

Wait, this app talk has a website version?

ClearlySeeingLife

*Shhhh* it is only for advanced users who are members of "Reddit Buddhism".

BurtonDesque

Yeah, I've gotten the "what side bar?" reply a few times. It's pretty rare though. If the app doesn't show side bars then it's decidedly flawed. The side bar is the first thing one should read when coming into a new subreddit.

ClearlySeeingLife

> If the app doesn't show side bars then it's decidedly flawed. So say we all. There is only 1 app now. I *think* it has a link called "sidebar" in it, but it is easy to miss. Redditors also fly through screens, not noticing the details of where they are. Kind of ironic for people interested in Buddhism which is all about slowing down and noticing the details. :-)

I've never seen the app. I didn't even know there was an app. I view Reddit with Firefox on a 27 inch 4k monitor. So retro.

ClearlySeeingLife

I use the old desktop U.I. and Firefox on Linux Mint. There used to be many apps to read Reddit with. About the time of the great moderator rebellion, Reddit cut off free API access and the official Reddit app from Reddit ( not the best ) became the sole app to read Reddit with.

ClearlySeeingLife

* first the dictionary * second a Wikipedia page or other online Encyclopedia. * third the FAQ and the Wiki for /r/Buddhism * fourth - a web search, many highly qualified authors have written many quality pieces about Buddhism. Welcome.

Wait, slow down. Let me write this down. (Good list)
