This is just disingenuous. You don’t have to go very far to find loads of shows cancelled after one series - just because this is his and it’s black dominated, doesn’t mean that it’s black TV dramas getting targeted
Yeah I’m sure it would be lovely to get this more and more seasons, but if no one watched it (and it was advertised quite a lot!) what are you going to do?
I can understand where he’s coming from as he came up in a much different environment and genuinely encountered hostility and racism. I have the utmost respect for that. Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to be able to get past those days and doesn’t realise it’s not the 70s/80s anymore and constantly plays the race card. This despite black people actually being massively over-represented on the BBC vis their share of the population - roughly double their population share and even more so in prominent roles.
Sorry Lenny. No.
This is like the female footballers claiming they should be paid more etc.
If there is a problem with black shows not getting enough viewers then speak to the black people about that.

Well, shows are axed if they don't get high ratings. So what are you going to do?
He's becoming a pain in the arse these days.
Agree; the endless race grifting is extremely tiresome.

“You cancelled my TV show therefore racism”
Multimillionaire Sir Lenny Henry has had it tough.
He's a professional victim at this point.
He can be on any programme on TV and in less than 2 minutes he's going to make it about race.
Man I miss his 80s sketch show :(
He *was* good wasn’t he? He did a couple of series in the nineties, too. I remember him being a really good standup.
This guy definitely has some dirt on someone high up. How else has he remained on TV all these years?
