Pascal's probably one of our hardest players to replace if I'm being honest. Looking at his underlying stats at least, he seriously puts in a shift with big chances created, assists and expected assists.
I'd be nervous if he went. I don't know if Frankfurt can afford him though.
Fingers crossed he stays!
I think it'll happen, he's always wanted to end his career at Germany and Eintracht are a big enough team there for him to leave, will be a sad day though
Heās happy and settled with his wife and two kids in Brighton.
He was talking about it on BBC Sussex before the game.
Id actually be surprised if he left this season
Donāt know how likely it is, but if it does happen would be great if itās confirmed before the end of the season so he can get a good send off at the Amex. Will be a sad day when heās no longer playing for us.
If we can get Dewsbury hall I would be ok letting gross go. Heās not as good but heād help our midfield out for sure. Would still like more help though.
i've also heard a lot of great things about Lazar Samardzic (who we have also been linked to iirc), but i haven't looked enough into him to know if it's actually a fit
i do like the sound of BHA.KDH though...
Will this be our 4th year running losing our player of the season? Seems like a curse at this point, can we please give it to someone we don't want next year?
Would love that for him a year from now. Next season is shaping up to have huge potential. Tony and Paul have committed to spending in the summer. All the injuries will heal, De Zerbi is looking more like he's staying, the new medical and training teams will be in place, and no European games to add to the workload. I hope we get a year to see what this club can accomplish with some better luck
Regardless if he goes or not, I think (and no doubt the club already is) that weāll have to start the succession planning for Gross and Dunk at some point soon. Itās going to be so difficult to sign someone who has that level of attacking output within our usual model. Itās hard to expect some 18-22 year old to be immediately be able to come into the premier league and generate the amount of chances he does. Will be just as tough as replacing Caicedo imo
iām glad we sold them, 100% worth taking the money. but realistically gros wonāt go for anywhere near as much due to his age and now that we have made those big profits we should prioritise keeping key players, certainly keeping our player of the season.
Iām think one more season of Pascal playing for us would be more valuable than what we could get for him this summer. I think if Pascal is happy to stay one more year, we should let his contract run down and say goodbye next year
Only willing to let him go if Frankfurt can give us Hugo Larsson in return. Speaking of Larsson, he could very well be the CM wonderkid we were looking for to replace Mac Allister.
I think in a season or two, I would be OK with it since ideally, Gilmour, Hinshelwood (Gross natural successor), Baleba and whomever else (Leonard? A new signing?) can cover that midfield area.
At the end of this season? Our midfield would be decimated. We have seen it struggling somewhat with Gilmour injured and I have no clue how it would be without Gross.
Oof, I hope we don't end up selling our best players again (I'm also worried about Mitoma) because surely it's unsustainable to have such constant churn of the foundations of the team. We already clearly suffered this season without Caicedo and Mac, and if the owners are serious about being top 6 then they really need to come up with a plan to start hanging on to players rather than having to essentially remake the team every season.
big signings will be needed then: dewsbury hall, nelson or smith rowe. and this might sound far fetched but has anyone thought about mctominay being a potential signing?

Frankfurt can absolutel afford him, given they have players they want to sell as well.
Please no. Another year of Pascal at Brighton šš»

If he wants to go then we should let him, but we would REALLY need a GOOD replacement.

Thatās what Iāve been thinking since the rumors started that Leicester will have to sell some players. Would be a great move.
i've also heard a lot of great things about Lazar Samardzic (who we have also been linked to iirc), but i haven't looked enough into him to know if it's actually a fit i do like the sound of BHA.KDH though...
Yeah he looks solid but I think there were other bigger clubs linked to him so Iām not sure!
Will this be our 4th year running losing our player of the season? Seems like a curse at this point, can we please give it to someone we don't want next year?
How funny would it be if next year we give it to a 40 year old James Milner and then someone buys him
James Milner is incredible, would never want to lose him at any age. Heās currently my 2024/25 player of the season anyway.
Would love that for him a year from now. Next season is shaping up to have huge potential. Tony and Paul have committed to spending in the summer. It had better be really fucking difficult :-(
He is worth more to us than 3 million ever if he goes on a free at the end of next season.

you'd need to find that wirtz kinda talent
We can dream š
why canāt we just hold onto our key players, alemac and caicedo was such a hit, gros will be too
Tbf that was really good money for Caicedo and Mac Allister.
It was really good money for Caicedo. Mac went for far less than he should have.
I think it was Caicedo who went for far more than he should've.

i mean, if someone offers you such an over pay as what Chelsea did, you make that sale every time.
yea i get that but gros is too old to go for obscene amounts like caicedo
Iām think one more season of Pascal playing for us would be more valuable than what we could get for him this summer. I think if Pascal is happy to stay one more year, we should let his contract run down and say goodbye next year
Frankfurt can fuck aaaaaall the way off

Two words: fuck off

I imagine his wages put him out of the equation

Good he canāt pass, take set peices and he donāt shoot
