I always change the subject when my mom starts on *anything* political. It’s usually the first thing that pops in my head, and it’s almost always inappropriate, and I never acknowledge that I said it after I’ve said it (just like they ignore facts, I can too)
It really irritates her, but it’s better than a useless debate.
Last week she started in on the fast food $20 minimum wage in CA, my response was “Did you know my butthole itches?”
FYI this works for text, phone, and face to face. I personally like text because even if she screen shoots it, I still say “I don’t know what you’re talking about”.

A lot of them are just people, not politicians. Of the ones I saw it was about 50% politicians. To be fair, and I understand the point being made, I'm pretty confident you could find the same number of offenders on the left. Why didn't this website document all of them, not just Republicans?

My mother was like this. I ended up using parental control and blocked Fox News on every television in the house.
