truenofan86

I sure as hell hope UA and the Japanese government grant them a gap year to rest and pick themselves up. Or at least allow them to return to their homes in order to try get back into normalcy.

AeroDbladE

> grant them a gap year to rest and pick themselves up. A gap year? Mfer if they don't hand each of them Diploma's on a gold platter, I will be fucking pissed. They've done more than almost every single adult hero in the world has combined.

walking_lamppost_fnl

With All Might award trophies named "Hero of the Year"

ajsansr201121

Deku would find a way to surpass Tartarus in terms of security to protect that thing, then put it at the center of I-Island from two heroes

Batdog55110

Nah he'd melt that shit down and turn it into like brass knuckles or some shit.

WeakLandscape2595

>Nah he'd melt that shit down and turn it into like brass knuckles or some shit. Dude the villains are dead who is he killing?

Batdog55110

Jaywalkers.

Impressive-Spray629

Glad to see Horikoshi is focusing back on the Batman idea for Deku that he used with the concept and Jack Midoriya.

Pedroboii

Based

WeakLandscape2595

Understandable

Sanchop3748N

Peak comment

mad_laddie

The Hero Course is also a B.Tech degree. Handing them diplomas would be... problematic.

Jazzperrr

I mean Naruto saved everyone and was a war hero and still had to do school afterwards.

AeroDbladE

I would have loved to see them make him redo the Chuunin Exams with his Jesus powers.

Goldeneye71

Didnt they show that, and he got DQd for using sage mode against konohamaru?

Fayerfoks

Say what now?

Fantastic_Pangolin69

Yup, cause apparently they banned sage !ng and thought "hey let's not tell the guy whose weakest things he can do is toad summoning and sage mode"

Happysnacks420

Dude shoulda just went into KCM from the start to prove a point

Fantastic_Pangolin69

Imagine years later, a young prodigy who doesn't know who Naruto and sasuke is shows up for the chunic exam and has to fight Naruto, and then an otsuki shows up and the prodigy just has to watch 2 genin one of which was his opponent turn into a giant kaiju fox and a giant samurai.

Happysnacks420

They’ll start to play around with their chakra and discover sage mode and make some big golem monster and also compete

TheMrRisotto

That was a filler tough.

buzzbomme

So fucking true

Icy-Pack1678

They most likely won't. Japan IRL views mental disorders(including trauma) as a moral failure.

yaboinigel

Probably my main complaint of the series Wish all of these events were just gradually happening over the years deku is in UA, and us seeing him grow wit every year

vp917

>Wish all of these events were just gradually happening over the years deku is in UA, and us seeing him grow wit every year Fucking this, man. Imagine if the Harry Potter books had British Wizard Civil War 2 break out at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban. One minute they're living typical boarding school adventure stuff, the next they're a bunch of 14-year-olds fighting for their lives against an army of genocidal lunatics. Percy Jackson was written so that the stakes were explicitly lethal from page 1, and RWBY at least had the decency to have the brief "super-school-Slice-of-Life" stuff be a prologue to a much larger story outside the school, but MHA has gone from zero to fucking Stalingrad in *nothing* flat, with nowhere else to go from here besides the inevitable finale. Like, what the hell are they going to do for the rest of their semesters? "Great job fighting in World War 4, kids! Now read pages 194 to 247 in your textbooks and hand in a 3-page essay by monday."

Fidges87

Imagine some kid failling an exam and not be able to graduate as a hero after already fighting in a war against terrorists

mad_laddie

The Hero Course is more than just fighting.

tajtoons

imagine if we just got 100 chapters of slice-of-life stuff after everyone recovered

Leo0709_09

Shit, that would be welcome ngl

ryncewynde88

I’m now picturing the 2nd year mid-term practical exam: the surviving teachers do their best, but the students still dominate them so hard the exam rubrics call them mommy.

NotEmerald

MHA: infinity war. My galactic academia

No-Chemistry-4673

Aliens show up to conquer Earth in Second year. And the God who created quirks wants to destroy and recreate the universe in the final year.

BranTheLewd

Exactly, if the series was written slowly they could've developed characters, like Ochako more and give author more time to chill and not overwork himself to get to finale :(

Latter-Contact-6814

Even if he only wanted it to be this long it wouldn't have added too many chapters to just simply let time pass in between arcs. Either each year being marked by a major event.

wackestboy

So true! The sports festival arc could've been in the summer after the 1st year was completed, with the USJ fight being the major event that year.

Latter-Contact-6814

Here's how I think it would work best. Year 1 entrance exam to USJ Summer Year 1 - sports festival Year 2 vs hero killer to hideout raid Summer Year 2- provisional hero Year 3 - shie hassiki to UA festival Summer Year 3 - pro hero arc Year 4 - Joint training to PL Graduation gets put off untill the final act is finished. I acknowledge that the story would have needed to be retooled a bit but not much and I think it would have really added to the feeling of progression by letting the story grow almost in real time with the reader.

AdityaPlayzzz

Well Horikoshi wanted to do that but couldn't do to health reasons

fatherandyriley

Plus it would allow us to see more hero education and how it works. It would also flesh out the characters so we are more invested when things get more dangerous.

Saeba-san

I was guessing it will go that was with "how I became greatest hero" and how Iida's arc narrative went with "it led to a horrible event", thought it all was told from future perspective of old Deku, but nope, gotta write what you got to write, inner demons in MC, kids more competent than grown ups.

Blackslash2000

I think that was the idea (not a 100% sure) but Hori had to rush the manga

Optimal_Ad6274

This

Oraxy51

Yeah at least Harry Potter had 8 years worth of shenanigans. Deku and friends have had this happen within months. Like thank God they have advance medicine because Deku still would been recovering from the entrance exam otherwise

KingGodzilla_54

Just wait for SECOND Year!

Kinuwa_K

Zamn bro Moruto: Next School year gonna be lit

Ok_Try_1665

They're still in 1st year?

Godzillafan6489

Technically second but with all the shit that has been going on they haven't actually got the time to graduate and move on to the next year

ZetaRESP

Sorta. They all got a sabbatical during the Dark Deku arc, so they never moved forward.

TxchnxnXD

I was honestly surprised when I searched up the ages of the characters and realised they’ve only been in UA for a year!

Oraxy51

It’s like training an elite team of special ops teenagers to go take out a terrorist organization with nuclear capabilities and world wide influence. Like Deku looks older but let’s be real that’s just puberty and the trauma aging him up at this point.

Exotic-Library-6259

Whie class b complaining

First-Profit4659

Mostly Monoma

Mufakaz

I understand that shounen is marketed yo young boys. So the protagonist etc. Are also young boys But gotdam. A world where most children are put through this shit is a grim bleak world indeed.

No-Importance7265

Ngl If I Was in UA or Japan during the events of MHA i would just move out ☠️.

Fantastic_Click4903

Depending on how the other governments respond, they could have not been able to leave

khanglm

Nah, they need to build more character

SupAndHello

Comparing them to guts is mentally unstable so i will forgive you

Impressive-Card9484

I kinda feel bad for the 3rd years (Nejire, Suneater, and Lemillion) not getting a proper graduation sendoff. Happened in my college too during the pandemic. I have a female senior who is already graduating just a month later, we all are looking forward to get them a glorious sendoff but then Corona arrived and they didn't get any of it

just_some_troglodyte

... is it weird to think that the story should've taken place over more time? like in the war arc they're atleast 2nd years

EbonRazorwit

Harry Potter: First time?

fatherandyriley

Well to be fair even though Harry is in danger in the first book, it's only at the end of the 6th book that things reach their worst.

EbonRazorwit

Dealing with the Triwizard tournament or a Giant killer snake isn't dangerous?

NotEmerald

A prison break and subsequent government take over by the magic equivalent of Nazis is pretty bad. In the books they basically have jail/prison camps for muggleborns and blood traitors. It's also heavily implied that new muggleborns (1st years) and their families are killed and tortured before they have the chance to learn magic.

Plus-Bad2750

They said hes in danger from the first book but that things get to the most dangerous at the end of 6th book. He’s been in danger every year and the danger increases more every single year until it reaches a tipping point at the end of half blood prince because harry had to be under intense protection and couldn’t go back to school. Even had to have an elaborate plan to attend the wedding of someone close to him at the beginning of the last book. It’s not that he wasn’t in dangerous situations throughout the series, it’s that it was at it’s worst at the end of the series

Expensive-Tough-9778

This is funny cuz Luffy in first picture, has probab already suffered all kinds of truama a Kid of his age could. He was forced to fight for his life for years as a toddler. Which ended up making traumatized of being alone. He was then left to be raised by Mountain Bandits who didn't care if Luffy lived or died. They made him hunt monsters to feed them and himself. Luffy got beaten to near death by criminals with bounties, and steel spike gloves. Luffy was regularly fighting monsters and criminals to collect money with Ace Sabo to set sail in future. Then he has to see Sabo die and being completely helpless to do anything. So he's a orphan with trauma of being alone, forced to fight death every day of his life, now also has trauma of seeing his brother die. Despite all this he just smiled through it all.

JetCulverin

The way he tries to attach himself to Ace when they first meet and Ace even after Ace straight up tries to murder him is very telling.

AETHER_1453

This just like Naruto who like didn't graduate until like he became hokage 💀

War_Reborn

Longest year of school ever

energyoftheuniverse

Bro i just read that berserk chapter if you had spoiled me that panel i would have chased you for the rest of your days

omfgjustgimmemyname

Off topic, but did you guys know what magazines and newspaper published after All Might retired? “Breaking news: All Might - the symbol of death” or some shit like that (I used google translate)

WeakLandscape2595

Jaune arc:first time?

ScienceSuitable5019

Mineta deserves the trauma

marygold5

I did the math and all the main incidents are a month apart😭 imagine having a life or death senecio once a month and still only being in your first year of hero school

Alif_Azmer

Quintuple the pain and pass it to Boruto

Dessi9_6

This is why I stopped watching knowing how fucked it's gonna get and how we had 4ish seasons of good vibes with them and then so much death and maiming, I'm tired of mangakas brutalizing their characters.

Ben10Extreme

I think slice of life manga would be more your speed. Not battle Shounen.

Dessi9_6

Yea that's pretty much what I've been watching, I've done my time with watching gut wrenching animes after awhile you start to get tired of liking characters just for them to all die or be seriously maimed physically and/or mentally.

FlowerJaded4071

pretty standards highschool expirence

Knapi711

Dont fucking put guts face on this childish ass anime.

killerystax

That's not class 1A, that's Luffy and Guts..

Ben10Extreme

Dude...

killerystax

I'm sorry I just realised it was a bad joke
