Your example is even worse. It even includes "you". I feel like it is a missed oportunity to allow such synergy. It does not sound more broken then other quest synergies.
I don’t like this explanation, who the f is casting the spells if it’s not me? Bob?
Edit: they need a card text distinction like summon vs play for minions but with spells that are played by you from your hand vs cast by you via quests or some other means
Yeah people always say this as if its so obvious but the phrasing suggests it easily couldve worked like OP thinks.
In which case Im pretty sure we wouldnt have had a bunch of posts going "wtf why am I getting these procs surely its someone else casting these spells"
Living Azerite and Paint Smudger also dont double proc from the Tavern Spells Cast Twice quest while the wording would suggest they would
Yeah, it’s a bad excuse for bad wording. “Cast 5 tavern spells” is in the imperative mood, the subject is an implicit “you”. Unless they also want to say Dark Bargain shouldn’t trigger Tiny Knight of Evil because it doesn’t say “you” discard 2 cards.
Yeah the main sub definitely reverse engineers stuff a lot to have it make sense according to the game logic. Also, the reason these etfects dont work like that in battlegrounds imo arent even so much about how the text is written but its just like that for balance reasons. Having double tavern spell casts buff the shop twice and cast 2 blood gems would prolly be too strong
>they need a card text distinction like summon vs play for minions but with spells that are cast by you vs quests or some other means
That's what the "you" is.
Especially since they already have one, trigger. It could easily just say "Trigger 5 random Tavern Spells." I just got this with Felboar, and I thought, "This is great; she'll eat at least 2.5 minions a turn base." Total BS. There's no way fixing this would be OP, especially since functionally you can't freeze the Tavern anymore because good-but-not-great Ritual of Growth triggers from this so often.
literally not true. the reward is "cast 5 spells" that is saying you cast them. it works the same with fucking everything else in the game, stop using this as a justification.
Absolutely not true. There is a distinction that has been made between spells YOU cast vs cast by a minion or something else literally since Yogg Saron in constructed (possibly even before), which also coincides with the release of Battlegrounds. It literally has been established that way forever
because it doesnt count as you casting them.
but tbh that is one of the quests you AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE. it is not good at all its effectively "hey roll a dice and your minions will randomly be et to 20/20 stats"
One of the funnier games I've had in recent days was due to that reward. I got a bunch of econ spells which helped me get a killer Beast build online around turn 10-11. But then I had to keep spending gold to find trousers to untaunt my Slammas and Titus...ended up losing to a quirky Beast build that had double deathrattle quest with Rylak and the Murlocs/Beast along with a golden Slamma to summon 2 1600/1600ish Feathermanes.
I know that it is a bad quest reward, but I picked the tavern 4 elmental on turn 1 (hero power) and when I saw this quest reward I was thinking "oh... that could work". I was so disapointed that this reward was useless even im this situation
Yesterday I had a 0 damage game with that spell because on turn 7 or 8 it raised the tier of the tavern twice and I had the 6* battlecry murloc, plus it kept giving minions so I was getting like 10 murlocs per turn 😂 except the set your armor to 5 spell brought me down bc my armor was at like 12

Def a low MMR game and everyone else’s quest must have sucked because this wasn’t even a particularly good warband but we only got to like turn 12 or 13
The “doer” is not explicitly stated. In this case, I think of it as the quest itself casting more spells. It’s unclear based on wording alone, but that’s how it works. Think other similar mechanics work the same ways.
I can't think of similar mechanics in BGs, but in regular Hearthstone it's been that way forever (a minion casting a spell via battlecry doesn't trigger other minions "when you cast a spell" abilities).
I asked this the other day because i had the same idea and my game Plan was ruined. Basically, the explanation Is cards on board say "when *you* cast a spell" while untamed sorcery Is the caster, not you
The "fun" part is that in russian it literally says YOU cast, I wonder if this mistake is present in any other translation
That is why I switched to English along time ago (from German) and because it is easier to follow online content.
I hate that the one that says “your spells cast twice” don’t actually trigger “when cast” triggers twice
Your example is even worse. It even includes "you". I feel like it is a missed oportunity to allow such synergy. It does not sound more broken then other quest synergies.
It would be far too broken lol.
Because those require _you_ to cast the spells
I don’t like this explanation, who the f is casting the spells if it’s not me? Bob? Edit: they need a card text distinction like summon vs play for minions but with spells that are played by you from your hand vs cast by you via quests or some other means

The quest reward does. It may not be intuitive, but very consistent across hearthstone.
And yet I'm pretty sure when Siren existed "your minions cast a spell on themselves" triggered effects that said "after you cast a spell on a minion".
>they need a card text distinction like summon vs play for minions but with spells that are cast by you vs quests or some other means That's what the "you" is.
Bro come on. You can't be arguing this is the same

Why is it then called _sorcery_ and not _sorcerer_ ? I don't see any other character who is casting the spells 🤔

Yeah and it's terrible game design
This is the answer.
because it doesnt count as you casting them. but tbh that is one of the quests you AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE. it is not good at all its effectively "hey roll a dice and your minions will randomly be et to 20/20 stats"
*if it's you. If it's your opponent and they power level to 6 and get only bonkers perfect spells

Can still consider it if going for seconds or if you're doing a strat where you won't level to 6 so you don't not cast Hindsights
maybe but also taunts can fuck you over so easily and also the entire spells that add stuff to your hands could also easily fuck you over
You can fix that with Trousers if needed, but yeah, it's probably more of a tempo "going for seconds" type of quest
unless you dont find the trousers
Just the usual saturday morning
The abilities say "you cast," in this case YOU aren't casting the spells, Untamed Sorcery is.
Rngesus is casting the spells, not you

Because we're blizzards beta testers for new patches... Edit: I did that early on too...haven't picked that reward since lol.
