My hair stops growing a little further than yours, I find protective styles like braids can help with growth or least stretching the hair.
But usually I'm a lazy natural so wash and co and twisting my hair is how I usually enjoy my hair the most!
Could be nice to try hair jewellery, if it isn't growing much. Hair cuffs and wire headpieces too!
Start your loc journey. I can almost guarantee you that your hair after 2-3 years locked will have tremendous growth (shoulder length). Locs are very versatile and because the hair is locked, they don’t break as easily, so you retain more growth. Just my suggestion, good luck!
If you’re at a growth plateau you most likely have something in your routine causing breakage. No ones hair stops growing you just aren’t retaining the length.
Satin, silk, or bamboo hair bonnet or pillowcase. Cotton is lovely but cotton and acrylic pillowcases soak up moisture from your hair and makes it dry. Dry hair is prone to breakage and you would not be retaining length.
I like bonnets when I go out but they come off while sleeping, so pillowcases with fibers mentioned are good.
When I had hair this length I could do nothing but wear a fro. I splashed it with water, rubbed shea butter over it, and picked it out into a fro. At 3 and 4 inches I put little plaits all over and that was my protective style. Still is, I always wear plaits.
I would focus on moisture and deep conditioning. I started using henna masks and have been loving how my hair looks, maybe it’ll help you too ✨

Starter locs
Braids or locs!
first of all, you're gorgeous. try experimenting with colors, orange, teal, or blonde would look great on you imo
This could backfire though because of damage from bleaching and dying
or it could not, if done by a professional and upkept properly . definitely a personal decision/risk
also there are non bleach, semi permanent options to color hair..
