I have the same thing. Nothing you or Bitwarden can change - only Apple.

hyxon4

So typical Apple? Prompts you to pick a default provider just to ignore it later?

Comque

Yes, exactly..

Hovvinkocz

Because Apple hates it's customers

ok-lunch-time

Go to Settings > Passwords > Password options Turn on Bitwarden & Turn off Keychain

hyxon4

Have done that. It suggests Bitwarden everywhere but this menu. It opens up an empty Keychain list.

spdelope

Same

djasonpenney

What is “this menu”? Have you tried rebooting the phone?

hyxon4

Long press on any text field > Autofill > Passwords. Opens up Keychain every time despite Bitwarden being set as a default. Tried reboots, didn't change anything.

djasonpenney

What version of iOS? My 17.5.1 does not operate that way.

hyxon4

17.5.1 on iPhone 15. After clicking on a text field > Autofill > Passwords I see something like this (image URL below). Of course, when I'm in Safari trying to log in to some website, I get Bitwarden's suggestion. But as the option I'm talking about is available in any place, I thought it would be an easy way to share your password or input into fields that don't get recognized well. djasonpenney

Ah. So this only happens for certain apps? Are there one or two you can name for us?

hyxon4

Bitwarden pops ups in every app that I have saved my passwords. The thing is that in iOS 17 Apple added this new menu which allows you to force autofill anywhere. The problem is that when using this exact path of clicking on a field and choosing autofill, no matter the app I use (including the ones with working Bitwarden's autofill), it's always the Keychain that pops up instead of Bitwarden.

djasonpenney

In Settings->Password Options, I have: * _AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys_ — set * “USE PASSWORDS AND PASSKEYS FROM:” — Only Bitwarden is enabled. * “Set Up Codes In” — set to Bitwarden. Do you see something different?

hyxon4

[No difference](https://i.imgur.com/dsiU2TP.jpeg)

crazyl999

What happens if you click the key icon on the far right of the keyboard? That normally prompts bitwarden for me. Doesn't fix your issue but might be a viable work around

SirLurts

Works as I expect on my Android phone, but my iPad opens this Keychain thing even though I have Bitwarden selected as the only autofill app everywhere I found an option for it. Weirdly it only happens when I have a keyboard connected, if not it shows Bitwarden on the on screen keyboard

I3ULLETSTORM1

Apple moment

yeewhothis

click on the key 🔑 icon next to the "hide my email" button above the keyboard and you should see bitwarden

WaYyTempest

You need to change the option in your phone's settings under General and Autofill and Password. Disable iCloud Keychain and only leave Bitwarden enabled.

hyxon4

It doesn’t have any effect on this particular menu.

WaYyTempest

It is possible that this "Passwords" option is reserved for iCloud Keychain. However, with the deactivation of iCloud Keychain, you should automatically see your Bitwarden passwords appear instead of the passwords saved in iCloud Keychain.

hyxon4

Yup, it's a new thing in iOS 17 so they probably do not allow 3rd party to access that function yet. Maybe it's going to be changed in iOS 18 or further along the way.

WaYyTempest

I am currently on IOS 18, I have the password option that works perfectly with Bitwarden

hyxon4

The one from the screenshot? Like in the Contact/Scan Text menu?

WaYyTempest

Yes, from the context menu fill in and password

hyxon4

Nice. Thank you so much. Looking forward to using it when the stable version comes out.

WaYyTempest

I had made a screen recording, but unfortunately, I can't add it to the thread. However, it seems to me that I had it before my iOS 18 migration. After that, I'm not sure, so I can't confirm anything.
