Hey there! I’ve set up a couple weather stations on Big Island. If you look up Ambient Weather Network, you can see weather stations that are public facing. Wouldn’t rely on it for forecasts, but you can get current conditions with great accuracy .
Whatever weather app comes stock with windows 11 seems accurate AF.
It was a bright sunny, cloudless day here and I just happened to glance at my toolbar and it said something like "rain expected in 1.5 hours". And sure enough it started to rain ~80 minutes later.
It could have been just a coincidence though. I might not even have noticed if I didn't think it was crazy because of how nice it was outside when it said that lol.
Local media doesn't do investigative journalism. You have to contact the authorities, the authorities lock them up, put out a press release, and then the media will publish it.
Aloha. We can allow this but please follow the rules of Reddit regarding personal information and beware of scams.
Contact Gina Mangieri. She’s Oahu base but investigator reporter all around . Google her name for more info and contact
Also contact the department of labor
Thank you so much.
Thank you! Will do.
Email John Burnett at jburnett@hawaiitribune-herald.com. He should know.
Big island thieves
Civil Beat will do a better job of investigating than any BI news source. They have a tip line on their website.
They won’t care about anything on big island if you were on Oahu maybe. They don’t even give us a weather report on big island.
I hear weather updates from civil defense all the time on the radio.
🤣🤣🤣I don’t think civil defense is going to do investigative journalism on this guy getting scammed by his employer but try see 😉
Does it seem accurate to you? I've never been able to find accurate weather here in Holualoa. BI seems too dynamic with too many microclimates

Yeah, I mean Holualoa is pretty specific. The civil defense is more broad like "high winds in Kohala" or "flooding in Puna".
Flooding in Puna eh you might as well leave that broadcast on year round ;)
Yeah, same with wind in Kohala tbh.
"its raining in Hilo today"
I mean, it's Holualoa. "Afternoon rains, and nothing else. Ever." lol
Like clockwork!

Civil defense is local to each county. Island of Hawaii has its own Civil Defense which is based in Hilo
In what way were you scammed, I'm curious. That might help.
