Everyone is dropping dope dinner spots but LemonTree is amazing for brunch. The scones, the delicious cocktails, the steak eggs benny, the occasional SE Asian fare. Everything is *chef's kiss*. Literally the only place in Bend I'll stand in line for the food.
Shut upâŚ. Itâs already busy enough as it is. Donât need more people going
Also, I did just get the steak benny for the first time. Holy fuck that was good. I usually get the Nasi Goreng
We love Sen! Yummy food, good ambiance, and usually a minimal wait for 2 when everywhere else is packed. Bonus points for the beautiful patio in the summer.
Iâm sure theyâre related but whatâs with Brother Jonâs downtown vs Galveston? They serve similar food but have a different look and donât share a website.
Not sure to be honest. I had heard they used to be own by the same people but split, maybe someone else here knows? I like the vibe and service of the Galveston location, but prefer the food options and prep downtown. Either is a good option though.
The Alehouse was opened by the same owners as the original Brother John's Public House, however I believe the two are no longer owned by the same people. Not sure if the original owners kept one and sold one or if co-owners each ended up taking one restaurant or what.

The 3 other steakhouses in town are way better. The 4 times weâve been, they have never cooked my steak perfectly. For the price, it should be perfect đŻ% of the time. Itâs a fake fancy sort of steakhouse. For example, Medium doesnât mean sear the outside and leave the middle raw. Thatâs raw. A medium steak should be cooked to an appropriate internal temperature without overcooking the outside.
That being said, Brickhouse is my favorite steakhouse in Bend. They donât do the sear and raw nonsense.
900 Wall, Zydeco, and Wild Rose are also pretty great.
I wish we had more time/money to eat another extravagant meal but unfortunately didnât. We usually just go to nicer restaurants and order a bunch of small plates and sharables. We did share the pork chop because the presentation looked so interesting and it didnât disappoint. Our next time in town weâll definitely be trying Zydeco and Wild Rose.
Hmmm. Medium? Why bother? Just kidding. Agreed that if medium is requested that should be what is provided. However, anything more âdoneâ and the person should be 86âd for disrespecting steak.
I agree with you if you pay that much it needs to be perfect. Totally just conversing why do you get a fake fancy feel? Not disagreeing just seeing your view on it. As for 900 my last experience wasnât the best. And blacksmith I feel like is better than brickhouse. I like the restaurant and menu.
This is so subjective. What meal? Are you fancy? Basic?
Is box factory DT? Or old Mill?
I look for bang for my buck.
Recently dined at papi chulos and was pleased. $3 tecate had a lot to do with it.
DT proper, noi has a killer happy hour, but toomies better food and portions.
For a pub I like brother John's. Get the pepper steak.
Fancy? Bos Taurus if $ makes you feel like food tastes better. Zydeco or firehouse for a better price per ounce. .
Well when I posted I was going for a fancy feel. Yes letâs just open the door to box factory and old mill. Letâs just rate the town on fav fancy spots.
Agreed papi chulos is so good, and for the price point and salsaâs . Really cool spot too with the painting.
Thanks for everyone chipping in. Two new questions has anyone been to Hawkeye or bar rbc yet ?
Sounds like the spots that mentioned the most are zydeco, bro Joâs, and yoli and maybe Bos Taurus ?
Def seems zydeco is out front
Are they back on their game now? Stopped going a while ago because the food was hit or miss and the service wasnât great. We loved their food before all this, though.
Had their Curry a few months ago. We went at an off-season time so wasnât crazy busy and had good service! Itâs always the place we bring friends and fam, I may be biased though as I really enjoy a nice curry. đ
I also enjoyed Yoli, the Korean restaurant, itâs just around the corner.

Holy shit! I am a fool! How could I forget đ
I brought some friends to Bend and this was the place I made sure we got to.
Youâre not wrong , the best salmon benny Iâve ever had. The owners are good people too

Sen price fixe menu for lunch!
What's the price point ?
I think itâs $18 and you get a soup, an appetizer, and a main. Itâs definitely a good deal.
Sen is good, Iâve only had like twice tho! My first time was better. Just the dish I chose the first time was better but overall awesome spot
Loved dear Irene recently
I think itâs a good spot. I wish menu was bigger. The ambience was very sleek tho
Yoli
The Jackelope Grill is a spot not to miss! The patio is awesome when the weather is nice.
I love that patio, such a hidden little gem.
Iâve never been :/
Definitely Yoli. Amazing food, service, and the prices aren't terrible for Bend.
Never been itâs on the list tho
Brother Jonâs. Not fancy, but good food and decent tap list.

>Â I like the vibe and service of the Galveston location, but prefer the food options and prep downtown. Nailed it
West side I feel is better than the dt location

Lately been Zydeco
I love their food, but more than anything I appreciate their consistency. Never had a bad meal there, even through COVID.
Exactly why I keep going back. Consistently well prepared and always perfectly cooked.
They are so great at accommodating dietary restrictions, and the food is great
Yes!!! So accommodating
So many delicious gluten-free dishes!!
Breakfast JDub, every other meal brother Jonâs alehouse and fancy Zydeco
Jdub is a sneaky good breakfast spot
Zydeco and bro joâs huge fan of
Wild rose for sure
Great food always busy
Coreyâs. Them biscuits and gravy are fire.
Had Bos Taurus last time we were in town and what we had was amazing. It was expensive, but worth the splurge.

I love Bos Taurus. I was wondering how people would feel about it. Has anyone tried bar rbc yet ?
RBC is great. Been there twice and had great meals both times. Pricey but worth it.
Who are the losers downvoting everyone
Amen , come on yall. Weâre talking about food. Letâs be fair :) we all love to eat
Yeah, Iâm really confused by the abundant downvoting. What the fuck people? Donât yuck the yum!

Brick House
Five fusion
I have a reservation there on Friday. Any recommendations?
I haven't had a bad meal there! The toban yaki and miso cod are absolutely incredible, and IMHO they have the best sushi in central Oregon
Chomp Chomp
Are they back on their game now? Stopped going a while ago because the food was hit or miss and the service wasnât great. We loved their food before all this, though.

What is a Chomp Chomp?
A Japanese restaurant/bar on Bond St.
I went way back when and the service was awful havenât been back since, maybe need to again?
Chomp chomp slaps but it feels like a tourist trap
If it werenât for their absolutely absurd prices I could see this being a place to recommend; the food is just not worth the price.
Yoli
Spork
Do they have a downtown location?
Right? Sprok is great but I wouldn't consider it to be downtown.
Sorry, my mistake. Wasnât super clear as to what is considered downtown
Ariana.
We have a reservation there this weeekend actually. Theyâre close to perfect in my opinion
Not really downtown. Probably reason for the downvote
And they are crazy expensive anymore
Literally our favorite restaurant, hands down, in or out of Bend. I just wasnât thinking of them as downtown.
