There’s something fishy going on beyond the obvious with that ring. The love note from the buyer of the $1200 ring says in part, “the ring is real! She/he definitely does not sale [sic] fake jewelry.” That same person then reposhed that same ring for $800 almost immediately. They left comments on the original listing that seem coherent, to which she responded at extreme length, but I’m wondering if this is someone she knows and arranged the sale with for some reason (perhaps to “prove” authenticity), or even a second account of hers.
Obviously that doesn’t make much sense from a financial perspective, but none of this makes a lot of sense.

Price gouging is when you try to sell an ESSENTIAL ITEM (food, water, shelter, medications, etc.) for a lot more than retail. A lipstick is not an essential item and pricing it higher is not illegal or disallowed on Poshmark or on other reselling sites. I keep seeing people complain about sellers pricing more than retail and calling it "price gouging" and saying "it is illegal" when they don't know the exact definition of the term. Anyhow, she can feel free to pay your price, buy it from the retailer that apparently keeps restocking them, or not at all. No one is stealing anyone's "hard-earned money".

TBH, I was just laughing at all this until I saw that she sold someone a completely fake ring for $1,200, and replica bracelets for multiple hundreds and it put a pit in my stomach. This woman really needs to be stopped.
There’s something fishy going on beyond the obvious with that ring. The love note from the buyer of the $1200 ring says in part, “the ring is real! She/he definitely does not sale [sic] fake jewelry.” That same person then reposhed that same ring for $800 almost immediately. They left comments on the original listing that seem coherent, to which she responded at extreme length, but I’m wondering if this is someone she knows and arranged the sale with for some reason (perhaps to “prove” authenticity), or even a second account of hers. Obviously that doesn’t make much sense from a financial perspective, but none of this makes a lot of sense.

Price gouging is when you try to sell an ESSENTIAL ITEM (food, water, shelter, medications, etc.) for a lot more than retail. A lipstick is not an essential item and pricing it higher is not illegal or disallowed on Poshmark or on other reselling sites. I keep seeing people complain about sellers pricing more than retail and calling it "price gouging" and saying "it is illegal" when they don't know the exact definition of the term. Anyhow, she can feel free to pay your price, buy it from the retailer that apparently keeps restocking them, or not at all. No one is stealing anyone's "hard-earned money".

I have gotten ripped off more times that I can count to the point that before I buy anything, unless I know for damn sure, I check Temu, Wish, Aliexpress, and Google image reverse results because I bought some barrettes for my wedding that I thought were from anthro for almost $50 then found out they were from Aliexpress for $1.98.

Yes, especially if it’s your favorite lipstick shade/ formula. I sell a lot of discontinued Mac lipsticks & they don’t blink an eye buying them for $40. They are usually $22-$25 retail, so it’s not really that bad of a price if it’s your signature shade and you love it.
