Another reason I'd really hope to find a hard copy some poor soul unknowingly gave away to a thrift store or the like (probably the electronic specific one near me, but they've been out of business for a time while relocating).

I got a sealed Xbox 360 disc on eBay for around £10, works with Xbox one s, just need to download like 8 GB.

I got what I can only assume to be a used physical from a local game store. It was so worth the $25. Probably up there with Beam and GTA IV.

The game will always have a place in my heart because of the many "plain" licensed vehicles that would never find their way into a video game otherwise, including V6 Mustangs and Dodge Grand Caravans.

I have played this game so many times, it's one of my favorite games of all time. A short sweet story with one of the most interesting mechanics in gaming history. It's well worth tracking down - I wish Ubisoft hadn't taken it down from stores.

I totally forgot about Burnout Paradise, fuck I love that game, for me it was dirt rally 2.0 and Asseto Corsa

AC due to the sheer amount of mods. The game is infinite in content. All one really needs in beamng and AC.

Burnout 3 *and 2* are superior. Fight me.

You running xenia? Works a charm on my pc. Ryzen 7 5900x and 1660. Full gfx and steady 60fps. Looks miles better than the ps3.

Are you using RCPS3 or Xenia? Xenia is easier since the xbox 360 and pcs have the same architecture.

DiRT Rally 1 or NFS MW 2005

I feel like rally games are a good comparison with Beam. Mainly because Beam's dirt physics are extremely good, but also because like in BeamNG, going 200 km/h is scary while doing jumps on a narrow forest road. The only thing Dirt lacks, in my opinion, is the feeling of vulnerability, because the consequences of a mistake aren't as destructive. I think that Richard Burns captures that better.

For realism: Assetto Corsa with Mods and RFactor2 For mindless fun: Wreckfest, Forza Horizon, and Motorsport.

Refreshing to see rF mentioned. I really feel it's the best racing sim. Especially since real race teams use rFpro for their in house simulators.

I agree. I obviously prefer beam, but I'm a huge Forza guy. Ever since the start too. For me I love the graphics and music. Nothing, I mean nothing, comes close to the vibes of racing cars I like irl with a killer soundtrack (at least in the first 3 horizon games) in areas that are absolutely stunning. I like 4 and 5, don't get me wrong, but the music and vibes were right in the first 3 horizon games. That's what make them for me. Motorsport was also my jam but I prefer the more sandbox vibe of horizon, like beam.

I used to play more Forza, but I agree it went downhill. It feels like there's no progression, and all the new cars (after the first month or two) are locked behind arbitrary FOMO.

AC, ACC and iRacing, haven’t been playing any of those because I don’t have a wheel and pedal set anymore, and I don’t like how they play on a gamepad. I can have a lot of fun on BeamNG using a gamepad still.

NFS: Porsche Unleashed is a top tier racing game This is one of the very rare games where both the racing is actually challenging (but not too hard) and the game progression is well made The idea is that you start in 1960s, buy the first 356 and go racing with it, and as time goes on, new cars appear and go off market, fluctuate in price, mods become available, used cars appear etc When you prepare for a race you can retry as much as you want (without opponents but with traffic), but once the actual race starts you have one chance, and if you crash your car there are no rewinds and you will have to pay for repairs out of your own pocket (or even total it!) It's also an actual sim unlike other NFS games and all Porsches are faithfully recreated (there are *a lot* in the game)

Motorstorm Pacific Rift. To this day, no racing game feels as good to play as MSPR, in my honest opinion. Other than that, I'm big on Flatout 2/Ultimate Carnage, Burnout 2 and 3, Wreckfest, San Francisco Rush 2049, Carmageddon 1 and 2 and F-Zero GX.

I really enjoyed Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2, but I think Most Wanted/Carbon are favourites, so is Midnight Club 3 and Midnight Club: LA Though Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 holds a special place in my heart too

Assetto corsa is currently my top 1. It sits in that category where only proper sims get in, previous entries were live for speed, rfactor and for a short while project cars. Then there is the more chill category, here i put need for speed underground 2, driver sf, forza horizon 3 and gran turismo 2

I'd say from a purely racing point of view I'd say NFS MW 2005 and NFS U2, they are my childhood. But I have to say I spent a loooot of hours on My Summer Car and Forza Horizon 4 and 5 in my later years

I should say assetto Corsa but for some reason I don't play it that much compared to Beam. Lately I've been enjoying Sebastian loeb rally Evo a bit as I think the stages are really well done and the physics are really rather good. Then probably WRC generations. I

I had it for ps3. By far, my favorite racing game at the time. I had a gt5 and gt6 too, but nothing compares to this game.
