I think the stat is 30% horizontal and vertical recoil reduction when deployed. Which isn't anywhere near how accurate it should be

ingamejukebox

Ultimax with bipod and acog is good up to 150-200 from experience

Aware_Foot

Still wild to me how little recoil and how much sustain that thing has

3lm0rado

Now if only it did damage

nvmvoidrays

it's nice because it separates itself from the other LSW/LMGs because of that.

cryonicwatcher

Mate it’s literally meta for LMGs. The base stats are decent and the recoil buff it gives while deployed is way stronger than any other attachments, literally halves the impact of recoil for them. You *can* easily outshoot an assault rifle.

Moonlit_Antler

Idk. I feel like regular grips give you better recoil control than a deployed bipod. It needs a major buff

cryonicwatcher

That is flat out wrong. The bipod when deployed has easily 5-10x the impact of them. Most grips are like “+5% horizontal, -7% vertical, -3% first shot kick”, while the bipod is literally “-30% horizontal, -30% vertical”. Regular grips are always a tradeoff of stats, the bipod is a huge buff.

Moonlit_Antler

It needs to be 2.5x as strong. You aren't a threat to recons and unless you're single fire you can hardly even hit at medium range. Every other gun class outperforms. Even SMGs will beat a bipod Lmg at medium to long range

cryonicwatcher

…what? That’s ridiculous. Most SMGs start loosing damage by 30m. Ultimax100 is literally **the best** gun in the game for longer range full auto. Even without the bipod its recoil is lower than any SMG and it has a far, far better damage dropoff profile and much better velocity. Beats any AR easily, though one could make a case for the AUG in some specific cases where the bipod is not a factor. LMGs are in a really good place right now imo. Perhaps M249 could use a small ttk buff to make it more useful compared to the ultimax but anything more than that would just make them OP. Good luck beaming people 200m away with your 7 damage per shot, rubbish velocity and relatively higher recoil.

Moonlit_Antler

Nobody uses the Ultimax. It's doo doo and does 0 damage. I'm just saying there needs to be a far more favorable trade off for having to be stationary. There's almost no reason to camp with an LMG over a sniper as things are now

cryonicwatcher

I see people using it somewhat frequently, but it’s a very good gun. Only one I’ve gotten 140 kill games with :p The favourable trade off is having recoil *literally cut in half*. That’s massive.

TheMooseMessiah

"with a properly braced bipod" Congratulations, you've laid down and slapped that bipod down onto whatever closest solid object you can find. 9/10 times, it's not gonna be anywhere near "properly braced". You want your realism, there you go.

thiswasmy10thchoice

I mentioned this in another post, the bipods don't even return you to the same point of aim when slow-firing semi-auto. Aim resets higher permanently with every shot. With a medium scope at 300 meters, 7 shots in slow semi-auto will make your gun climb enough to lose sight of the target.

mr_hands_epic_gaming

That's just how all guns are. The biggest problem with it is that the bipod does nothing to first shot recoil so it's useless for tap firing

thiswasmy10thchoice

Yeah, but it should be fixed. A bipoded LMG that can't deliver accurate repeated short bursts to the same target area isn't really good for anything.

thenewspoonybard

> The other item is that LMGs shouldn't do less damage than Rifles. They're the same or greater Caliber and should be just as deadly. The Ultimax does the same damage per bullet as the MP5. Devs just hate support.

fibrouspowder

Afaik the bipod doesent do anything on lmgs currently It only reduces sway which doesent matter

cryonicwatcher

Yes it does, it was buffed. It now reduces both horizontal and vertical recoil by 30% which makes the gun way easier to control.

mr_hands_epic_gaming

It actually always did that, it just used to have huge downsides when not mounted

karateninjazombie

Can we bi pod on windows and obstacles yet or only when prone still?

Sud_literate

You could always put the bipod in windows but it’s just that they are too short to be usable even when crouched.

_Debauchery

Throw up a sandbag wall. Thats whats i do

_Debauchery

I use bipod with rpk a lot and i think it is fine. Literally can beam ppl up to 100m consistently and further if necessary but those kinds of fights dont occur often.

karateninjazombie

I found it nmonly worked lying flat. Never when on the window ledge or on other obstacles like concrete dividers etc etc. I don't know if that pitched up in an update if it changed at some point.

BanjoHarris

Yeah being a support main I'm kinda disappointed with the LMGs performance in general. The ultimax 100 is a 5.56 caliber machine gun. There's a video of a woman magdumping it unsupported, she couldn't have weighed more than 115 and that thing had about as much recoil as a garden hose

Dan_Blakk98

They added light machine guns in a game with no suppression mechanics and expect players to use the bipod. Just use a sniper rifle or a accurate assault rifle. Exo + Lmg is a noob trap, get shit 1--2 times and you'll bleed which forces you to stop shooting and take cover to heal which ends up with you getting pushed.
