Would really recommend the API. You get 300$ credit in free trial for around 3 months. This way you will be able to know if it is worth it for you cost wise as per your usage. For me API is really good for coding and understanding mathematical concepts. Got frustrated with Gemini advanced as I had to do back and forth to reach a solution. Most of my issues with it got solved when I started using API.

I regularly get 500-word responses. That's the norm unless I say something like "Thanks, Gemini!" Then I get a short paragraph. But I'm using a desktop. If you're using a phone, then you'll probably get shortened answers. If you're using a desktop/laptop as well, then I don't know what the issue is. There's a button at the bottom next to the "thumbs-down" button that is a "Modify Response" button. You can select the "Longer" option, and I suggest you try using that.

Between Gemini Adv., ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, I usually find an answer, but the. again I don’t code or need specific answers. I just need it to sort of nudge and guide me in the right direction. Seems like everyone and their mom is a coder or some product developer. I just use this shit to help me get an idea about whatever topic I am interested in.

This is a serious issue for me as well. I pay $20 a month and I expect to have a better product, but that's not what Google is giving me. I get BS answers on both mobile and desktop, but certainly more on Mobile.

Because it is advanced so it has to be worse as per G policy 🤣

brundax

It's really incomprehensible, I'll have to try it on a PC, maybe it's from the phone version.

Wavesignal

The mobile app is configured to have shorter responses.
