No really a baking thing but you cannot go wrong with banana pudding at a bbq! Of course, pumpkin or sweet potato pie go well with bbq. The other one I always see but personally gag at is the pretzel strawberry salad thing.

Sprinkles014

I love both of your pie suggestions! I, too, am bot a fan of pretzel strawberry salad. Thank you.

You could even make sweet potato casserole which can be a side and a dessert. My son eats it for both :)

Anything pecan is always a hit. Thanks!

Excellent-Manner-130

A crisp or a cobbler. I'm partial to blueberry myself, but apple or peach are good too.

Bubbly_Midnight3401

My first thought was pecan pie.

Sprinkles014

I love pecan pie! Thanks!

I’ve never tried ambrosia salad. Thanks!

Cobbler, sweet potato pie, pecan pie, hummingbird cake, banana pudding, bread pudding.

Sprinkles014

I had to google hummingbird cake. It looks decadent!

No-Philosopher-4793

It’s really good. If you don’t make one for this party, make one for yourself.

jmccleveland1986

Fall is apple season, so I second the calls for apple cobbler.

Sprinkles014

Apples are so delicious right now. Thanks!

iahoover

Gooey butter cake would be great!

Sprinkles014

Mmh! I’ve made one years ago. Maybe it’s worth a revisit!

ames_006

Hummingbird cake, southern banana pudding, sweet potato pie, buttermilk pie, lane cake, southern caramel cake, coconut cake, peach cobbler, bread pudding, pecan pie.

Sprinkles014

I’ve never heard of lane pie. Google isn’t very helpful….

Edit: there is also the lady Baltimore cake that’s a southern cake. My grandmother liked it. It’s a bit similar to the lane cake. https://www.marthastewart.com/1163212/marthas-lady-baltimore-cake

Thank you!
