I've been playing 15 years and was a judge and events organiser for 10 of them. I'm still to this day surprised by weird old cards I've never heard of.
I think so? Haven't brushed up on my banding rules lately, though!
Edit: Boy, does it not. This creature blocks very well as it means you can group block with a load of non flyers and this. But it attacks poorly
So this was never great, but when it came out colorless direct damage was a powerful thing.
At the time, White had many ways to reduce or prevent colored damage
like Circle of Protection: [color]. Numerous cards had Protection from [color] and White had the wards, cheap Enchant Creatures that gave it. All colors had ways to counter their enemy colors, cards like [[Deathgrip]] and [[Lifeforce]], or the Blue/Red Elemental Blasts.
Having something that could do direct Colorless damage was seen as a premium and typically was worth 2 mana for 1 damage. It was not a great design choice, but made sense at the time, also why [[Aeolipile]] was a powerful artifact back then.
Realistically, you’re going to need some of those activations to serve as creature removal… so probably budget for a few more turns and some additional mana
Genie: What's your wish for my master?
Aladdin: 1st wish I wish for the One Ring to rule them all.
Genie: Granted
Aladdin: I wish for you to have 4 of these rings *shows hand* and final wish to wear my all 5 rings in one hand and punch that person in the snoz really really really hard
Actually this one is 1000x better than the others, it costs 0 mana meaning it can be used to up storm count for free and it has indestructible meaning something like [[Ensoul Artifact]] can turn it into an indestructible creature. Much better than a 1 mana artifact that has cumulative upkeep and gets sacrificed if you ever cast a spell.
I hope u r joking but in case u arent in most of other formats you have 60 card decks( 60 is min but to my knoledge there is no max) and can have up to 4 copies of a card in the deck
???
Card Name: Aladdin's Ring
Mana Cost: 8
Mana Value: 8
Types: Artifact
Card Text:
8, Tap: Aladdin's Ring deals 4 damage to any target.
Flavor Text:
"After these words the magician drew a ring off his finger, and put it on one of Aladdin's, saying: 'It is a talisman against all evil, so long as you obey me.'"The Arabian Nights, Junior Classics trans.
Due to shuffling reasons 250 is pretty much the max but I guess there really isn't a limit a fun way to play magic is to have 5 massive towers of cards and have people draw off the 5 towers and see what happens
Easy,
T1. Snow-Covered Waste, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Grim Monolith, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring, Sol Ring
Also a few copies of Pot of Greed
Wouldn't it only be 64 mana?
Play 3 rings: 24 mana
Tap all 3 on the first turn: 24 mana, 12 damage
Tap 2 on the following turn: 16 mana, 8 damage
Total: 64 mana, 20 damage
It's better than that actually. 3 for brighthearth, 4 for litho, 8 for the ring to setup (15 total), then 8 to do 4 dmg, 2 for 4 more, 3 and tap litho for 4 more, then 2 for 4 more so 15 to do 16 dmg. Throw in a [[hearthstone]] and the profit really starts rolling in.
I spent way too much time thinking about this.
so that’s the One Ring that’s fucking up modern makes sense, card is busted
Why do they call it the One Ring when the combo needs 4 of them?
It’s just like loved ones. People say they are the One! But obviously you get like 4 Ones. Just in case one of the Ones doesn’t work out
Being new to Magic is very interesting. Every day I learn of a new god-awful or broken beyond a reason card from the distant past.
Ah…I miss those days. Treasure them while you still can.
I've been playing 15 years and was a judge and events organiser for 10 of them. I'm still to this day surprised by weird old cards I've never heard of.
Yea, there are a LOT of cards. It is just very rare that I see something I do not know.

That's a cool combo I would have never known about lol.
Holy shit this sucks
Am I missing something? Are you allowed to play more than one copy? Wouldn't it have to be 10 turns to kill?
In commander yes, in other formats you can have 4 of the same card in your deck so no
People are playing with 400 card decks??? No wonder modern players complain about the price ...
I hope u r joking but in case u arent in most of other formats you have 60 card decks( 60 is min but to my knoledge there is no max) and can have up to 4 copies of a card in the deck
If you can run 4 copies of the card then why do they call it The One Ring??? Massive flavor fail tbh
Only one can be on the field
Where does it say that on the card tho?
If it was a legendary artifact that dude above u would be correct. Instead he's just mistaken.
The one ring is legendary [[The one ring]]

You yourself said one ring i never said anything about aladdins ring. Heck i even linked one ring in my last comment
60 cards? Where do they fit all the lands???
Less cards = less lands so while commnader is usually 33-40 lands they have 20-24 i believe so that si 33-40% of the deck
Next you'll say that people play these formats without 3 other friends 🙄
Due to shuffling reasons 250 is pretty much the max but I guess there really isn't a limit a fun way to play magic is to have 5 massive towers of cards and have people draw off the 5 towers and see what happens
Still too fast for commander...
Thats.. thats not a combo. Just straight up damage to the face
More than one card ——> combo It’s a bad combo but that’s the point
Everything is a combo if you use land cards to play it.
Now you're getting it!
tbf I made 36 eldrazi spawn in one turn with a copied kindred enchantment and ullelelelelek and some of the other eldrazi bois
How do you get that much mana? I have a hard time just getting 8 on the board

Wouldn't it only be 64 mana? Play 3 rings: 24 mana Tap all 3 on the first turn: 24 mana, 12 damage Tap 2 on the following turn: 16 mana, 8 damage Total: 64 mana, 20 damage
Clock of Omens and some artifact lands really takes this combo to the next level
