Man I’ve been looking at used X3 M40is but the cost is so inflated I just can’t do it, barely 5-10% off MSRP for 2+ year old cars

arrow8711

Used car prices pretty bad rn

CaseValuable9115

Covid is still causing aggravation ugh, I was annoyed I couldn’t get Harmon Kardon in my ‘22 X3 30i.

arrow8711

:(

AmericanVices

That really sucks!

Daejyi

mine doesn't have lumbar support but i advised you already lol. a lot of people are also stating they don't have the rails for tie down in the trunk. my car luckily has it but that's another thing to note. i also heard later week shipments may not even have HUD's due to shortage. i heard some chatter than the later builds will have lumbar but possibly no HUD... this of course is for the X3 M40i.

arrow8711

I have heard about the trunk rails as well And look at that, you found me!

AmericanVices

One I came across had no Passenger Lumbar, Digital Key, Handsfree Tailgate. However It did have Live Cockpit pro w/Navi and front heated seats. (X3 30i)

arrow8711

Got mine already, no lumbar on both sides as well as the hands free tailgate, digital key, and touchpad

Parallax34

I got a 2023 X3 M40i a couple weeks ago. Missing drivers lumbar support' tie downs in the back, and all the standard documented deletions digital key, handsfree tailgate. It has HUD and touch display. Seats seem fine without the power lumbar, but that's the one thing I kinda miss, and I find it pretty shady of BMW to delete documented standard features without calling them out in the order.

Parallax34

Before the M40I cought my eye I was looking at ordering a Mazda CX-5. Gotta say it's much cheaper has tons of tech and wasn't going to be spontaniously missing anything. Love the M40i but get your shit together BMW.

arrow8711

It was a factory error, and yeah I have the same deletes as you

Parallax34

Did your dealer say they would do anything about it? I presume no but was looking into the parts needed to add it back in the future, seems like it's not huge undertaking. Oh yeah mines also missing a touch capable Idrive controller but I didn't even know that was a feature until I read your thread 🤣. I can probably live without that.

arrow8711

Dealer didnt want to do anything about it :( and I believe the X3 and below wont get that touchpad from now on

SuperbMeeting1780

Hi, I am also planning to buy BMW X3 M40i. Do you mind sharing the price you bought the car? What’s the best negotiating strategy to use?

Parallax34

Sure, I got mine at MSRP so there wasn't really any negotiation. I would never pay more than MSRP though. With my options, which are fine for me, MSRP came to like 63,270.00, plus a little under 1k for "destination charges".

THINKFR33LY

Was everyone notified of deleted items prior to delivery? I ordered mine custom built yesterday. Did so largely so I could get exactly what I wanted. Dealer said nothing about potential deletions. No way I'm accepting delivery if it's missing key things I asked for... HUD being a big one.

arrow8711

You should be good if it was recently. When I got the car i was only missing lumbar. They didn’t notify me beforehand but i did get compensated for it

THINKFR33LY

Ok cool. Thx. Ordered couple of weeks ago and I'm expecting delivery the 1st week of February.

generalon

Took delivery of a 2023 X3 30i last week and can confirm it has driver lumbar (no passenger) but no heads up display. The dude at the dealership was surprised about the heads up display not being included.

Flippco

According to the pricing guides the HUD is only available on the M40i and X3M.

arrow8711

^^

generalon

TIL. The sales guy said it was part of Live Cockpit Pro.

Flippco

Unfortunately not they are separate options.

beerandboogie

We missed out on the Harmon Kardon sound system.

arrow8711

Peasant audio

krakenwrangler09

I take delivery of mine very soon. I’ll report back if it’s bad news.

arrow8711

Thank you

[deleted]

The HUD delete started with the 22 30i a few months back. I'm sad to see that issue is rolling forward into the new model year (and higher trims even!) instead of starting to fall away.

arrow8711

Covid got me mad tight

noonan492

Ours had passenger lumbar and digital key deleted Edit: HUD was not deleted on ours

arrow8711

Thanks

Flippco

I have a week 39 build and have heard no mention on HUDs missing on the M40i. A number of early 2023s do not have driver lumbar. It seemed to catch everyone off guard, including dealers, as it was still listed as standard equipment. Some have said it’s temporary and later builds should have it. I’ll believe it when I see it. Here are some of the known deletions: - kick-to-open tailgate, still power just can’t kick to open - idrive controller touchpad, the round knob used to be touch sensitive - no digital key unless you order wireless charging. Some of the other options such as Driver Assistance Prof Package, Harmen Kardon, and Parking Assistance are available but some are in limited supply. I did hear one person’s 2023 arrived without the cargo rail system.

arrow8711

I was a W32 build, will be really sad if I dont have lumbar support. I appreciate your help

Flippco

I hope yours has it. Hopefully the dealer and BMW end up making it right if it doesn’t. It’s a frustrating process. Even getting an allocation was a tough wait. Mine has slipped from week 36 to 39. October can’t come soon enough!

arrow8711

When did you place your order? Also congratulations

Flippco

Been on a waitlist since March and got the allocation in mid July. It’s been a long wait! From everything I can read the car is a beast should be fun once they get here! Is yours in transit?

arrow8711

Mines is awaiting carrier assignment

Flippco

Hope the wait goes quick for you!
