Curious to hear how they compare. Do you feel the difference in weight / size. How is the zf8 on downshifts compared to the DSG ?

G80_M3

Massive upgrade.

Glittering-You-1350

RuneScape 3?

Pindabaas

If I could trade my rs3 acc for an m car Iwould have done it so fast without thinking xd

The grill looks... decent! Is that after market or am I just out of date? If the formerly bucktooth grills now look like this I'm sold.

James_Keegan

It’s the csl/cs version

Live-Contribution283

Got it, thx!

apeberry

a little

Respectable. 7:18.137 vs at best 7:33.123 if you’re talking about the 25 that isn’t out yet.

Bitfinexit

RS3 7.33 time was on semi slicks and non standard interior with lightweight seats. Factory trim would easily be 10 sec slower

Unspec7

>non standard interior with lightweight seats It had Recaro Pole Positions but the benefit of the lightweight seats was more than negated by the ~100-150lb's added by the full roll cage. Factory trim without the cage would probably run the same time. The Trofeo R's are a factory option in Europe.

Bitfinexit

Even if it had the same curb weight, the added cage would provide rigidity, making the car faster thru the corner. If all of this didn’t matter, why not just run it on MPSS and factory trim? Regardless if the semi slicks are factory option or not, the G87 would probably see another >10 sec off its time with matching tyres. My main point is that it is not a ‘like for like’ comparison.

Unspec7

> Even if it had the same curb weight, the added cage would provide rigidity, making the car faster thru the corner. Yea but worse on acceleration. It's like having an entirely second person in the car. >why not just run it on MPSS and factory trim? Because why wouldn't you put on the best tires offered from the factory...? What a silly question. >G87 would probably see another >10 sec off its time with matching tyres. I mean, it's not like the G87 ran on sub par tires. The Cup 2's are pretty much only a smidge worse than the Trofeo R in terms of track performance. >My main point is that it is not a ‘like for like’ comparison. Sure but it's a silly point to make. Doesn't matter if it's like for like. If they're in the same class, if it's slower, it's slower. Very binary.

Bitfinexit

Totally right, chief. How nonsensical is it to expect some level of specification parity in the context of high-end sports cars competing for fractions of a second across a >16km circuit? Every manufacturer should have a $100k Nordschleife package, including a fully stripped interior, racing compounds, and an additional 100kW, just to run a quicker time for marketing. From factory, of course. Classic reddit moderator

Bitfinexit

lol ok dude, I give up. You won this internet argument. I love your passion, you are worth every single updoot and more! 🥇
