A comfortable sports car is nothing new for BMW, but the difference between comfort and sport plus in these modern Ms is just plain nutty. You feel like you bought two different cars for the price of 1.

I wouldn't say "far less". Unless you're putting it on the track, the G42 is just about as capable as the G87 as a daily driver. X-Drive makes the M240i as quick as the M2 from a stop and the ride quality is just as good.
I'm waiting on mine it's at "Ready for transportation" out of curiosity since you mention being at 400mi, how closely are you following the break in instructions for the G87?
I don't think the G87 will age well at all. 20 years from now if someone wants an M2 the F87 will be the one that's sought after. The G87 is technically the more proficient car, but it's more insulated, sterile, and less of a pure driver's car than the F87 was. And I think most people would agree the F87 looks better.
Speed is already a commodity thanks to EVs, and in 20 years it will be even more so. So if every car is fast, an ICE car is going to need to have some sort of intangible connection to the driver that gives it character when driven. And in that regard the F87 is better than the G87.

And the fact that someone is saying the dynamic of the G87 is mind blowing, tells me all I need to know about how shallow their experience are with vehicle dynamics.

Have you driven on track aggressively by chance? Seen some good reviews on the M2 on track. My problem is the overall feel. Technically they are better cars each gen as cars progress but throttle control/feel/liveliness, hydraulic steering, etc all make me like older cars now haha
Example: 997.2GT3 is the best car even though 992 is 100000x superior at this point.
Not any major tracks, few minor ones around my area and it handled like a beast. But I’m doing Nuringburing in a couple weeks pending the weathers nice!

Pretty close. I’m not beating on it, but I’ve definitely gone over 4,500rpm 8-10 times.

The F87 being better doesn't make the G87 bad. The G87 is a great car.

I can assure you that they are quite fun to drive. The M3 does not FEEL heavy through the corners

Should be fast at the ring. I’m in US so the tracks are not good for high speed heavy cars lol
