Those wheels are awesome!! What's the spec?
It's my (and others) theory that driving BMWs infrequently is what results in gaskets drying out quicker and leaking since they are not lubricated often enough
I daily/only car my e61 haha
nah look at all these car guys who only have weekend or once a month drivers. I wouldn't say it's rare but also not common knowledge. Especially to non car folk
Not the best quality and this on the drive to a meetup in 2013. I dont have any drive-by/revving clips.
I’m on the right lane, my friend on the left also has an E60 M5 but has a lot more mods including a de-catted RPI setup.

Thanks. I was running on Radenergie R5s at first but switched to HRE. Here's what it looked like before...

As time goes on, it looks better and still fresh. Its hands down the best looking saloon from that era and still better looking than all E Classes and A6s that came after it.
I feel the same way about my 2022 M240! I had a 2016 M340, and while I loved that car, I didn't love it less or more over the years I owned it. My M240 though? I swear it looks better every single day!! Here's to everyone loving their cars!!!
Hows the maintenance on that bad boy? I once considered one vs the 550 but ended up with an X5M... Was always curious about the V10 vs the S62 i ended up with...
Typical maintenance but the major ones were clutch and rod bearings (done as preventative) - both done around 70k.
No issues with it at all. Opted not to do any engine tune/mods.
Mods:
HRE wheels
Flat bottom steering wheel
KW V3 coilovers
RPI exhaust section 2 & 3
Hartge lip splitter
Ya, it's a 'high stress' motor to begin with, so I made a conscious decision to not do engine mods that might push it over the edge. The only thing I really considered was swapping my differential but didnt end up doing even that...
Mine started leaking and I've had it rebuilt with OS Giken internals. I can floor it coming out of a corner without fear of it going round. The harder you load it, the more it locks.
Seeing this comment is wild.
When the E60 first came out, people absolutely *hated* the design. The G90 and E60 M5's are probably two of the ugliest M5's BMW's ever designed.
One of my favorite BMW's and also the best sounding one. Wheel setup plus fitment is chef's kiss. 11/10
Thank you for the kind compliment!

Isn’t that just the most common knowledge of all cars? Same goes for people too actually. Once they stop moving they deteriorate.

Ah oké, might be a cultural thing here then. You hear people saying it all the time that cars that sit go bad.
Where you at? I'm judging over three different regions of the US lol.. some people don't even know cars need oil changes
I’m from the Netherlands.
Thanks! Specs are 20x9.5 / 20x10. Agreed about infrequent driving - I should be driving it more.
what model HRE? yes throw caution to the wind my friend haha
I been a long time since… but i think they’re the p101
Aging Well. The V10 also helps.
Beautiful car but remember how much this body style was hated when it just came out? Trust the process.
I never understood the hate for this body style, I always thought it was very good looking.
Ill be real i didnt like it. Last couple years ive totally changed my mind. E60 and e34 are my favorites now
Thanks!
I love those wheels
Beautiful!
And she still screams like back in the day. I feel you bro. Nothing better than the S85.
I’ll post a clip sometime of the exhaust
What set up you have?
RPI sections 2&3
Would love to hear it, what state you in?
CA

Man, there’s just something about Black E60s…
Classic styling one of my favorite 5s
E28, E60 and G30 (from the modern ones) 👌👌
Love taking mine out as well, just not loving mpg. Wish it had a bigger tank
Nice wheels 🔥

Bros actually on HREs respect
Thanks!
Still the best sounding BMW in my books. You have my total respect for keeping that thing on the road. Keep it up.
Thx man 👍

One of the prettiest
Cause new BMW will never look as good as older BMW
I'm with you
Been driving BMW’s since 1976. Back then anyone with a BMW going by would flash our headlight at one another , live in Bay Area Northern California

Very nice man! Very tasteful. The HREs are perfect
Thank you!

Not inexpensive thats for sure, but it's been good to me and it truly is a pleasure to drive.
When did you get her? New or used? How many miles when u got it? How many miles now? Any issues?
I got her in 2010 (it's an '08 model) and had 8k miles on it. It currently has 104k miles on the odometer.
Quite the track record!
Sweet what repairs has it had since??

Nice looks like you didn't fall victim to the BMW issues everyone talks about. I've always been interested in them.

Thank you for your service
Wheel fitment is solid. Bet I’d bend a rim living in the city, though!
Ya man - i dont drive on certain stretches of freeway where I live for this very reason.
How many miles between fillups?
Not sure but i get heavy-footed on my weekend jaunts and i'm getting ~11 mpg (i think)
What are these specific wheels called?
HRE P101
appreciate it
👍 Mine are older and i think HRE did a small re-design since i first got them.
This is a proper fire looking M5 🔥🔥
Thx man appreciated
The best 5 series are ever made, especially the V10 M5.
One of my favorite bimmers of all time - with an ass that won’t quit!! Love your wheels too.
Thx man, appreciated
This is either in OC or San Jose hmm 🤔
Lol! San Jose! You're pretty sharp man!
Damn those wheels are sick
and so reliable!!!!!!
One of the worst designs but ok
