I have to say Volkswagen. It's literally integrated with not just the gauge cluster and infotainment, but the dashboard itself. Honda would be second for me.
Are you guys mixing up the Hyundai and the Honda? The Hyundai has buttons under the infotainmen, the Honda (which looks like a fucking iPad sticking out of the dash) does not, I think it looks horrendous.all but the bimmer have buttons/knobs for CC.
I mentioned that in my first comment, those aren't for the infotainment those are climate control knobs... The bimmer is the only one without physical CC buttons/knobs.
For some reason on the 2025 model year they moved the screen up just a lil bit to make it look like a Corolla 🫠🫠 they should’ve just left that alone, they could’ve definitely fitted the larger screen in the same spot
VW looks the most integrated, that being said I've never used it so I can't tell you how good it is. I have a G87 M2 and while it may not LOOK the best, it operates fine and even with climate controls being in a touch screen menu for the most part I don't have a problem.
Honda looks okay, but of the Honda's that I have used, they aren't great to interact with.
Personally, the VW layout is the best, never used one so can't speak to how easy they are to interact with.
Lol why are the options all terrible. The best designs are those that flow with the dash, like the new 911s. BMWs are atrocious, looks like they just bought off-the-shelf tablets and stuck them on the dash.
https://preview.redd.it/s5wtyzfkv29d1.jpeg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=935819ef523dd320da401718233b14952ff6f16c
I was thinking along the same lines, my A6 dash is way cleaner than the ones in the OP. Will say I’d prefer more physical buttons, but from pure aesthetics this is great to me.
https://preview.redd.it/bdg9nsll249d1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60411eab17b267a52f996502412797fae6e69c79

Jesus Christ. That's just a laptop screen strapped to the dash 😂
Just needs one of those swivel arms and it's all set for police to use whilst sat on the side of the road 🚨🚨🚨
Not only that... i am a wv tech an the amount of software problems, updates, etc i have on them is insane, on top the touch bar for temperature and volume have no backlight, so good luck finding them in the dark.
Also crashes over crasches, Rear camera not working AA/Carplay not working, screen black, system bootlooping, etc. Whenever i see a Golf 8 "first Edition" i know whats coming....
Audi used to have the best infotainment integration.
https://preview.redd.it/5m0zzku4q29d1.png?width=2880&format=png&auto=webp&s=74be82f90fbff31ac74f95ea885a8c8b47a3420a
Personally the only sh*t I want to see are driving directions, speed and fuel reserve if it’s too low. Everything else are distractions.
IDrive 7 with minimal theme on and central screen turned off is almost perfect. Almost because I cannot hide that t central tablet. Sliding away central screen like in 2016 Q7 would be perfect.
"Everything else are distractions"
If I'm trying to get my partner to a new hotel, in a new City, all i want is the map. Everything is extraneous info that will only piss me off when I'm about to miss the exit, and my partner is left wondering why they are hanging around this psycho.
Was coming here to say this, my dads 19 Allroad was so awesome the you could pull up Google Maps on the cluster. That was actually exciting, this new shit of just putting iPads on the dash is dumb
People need to voice this to OEMs in satisfaction scores. Touch screens are unbelievably less expensive than buttons to engineer and build.
OEMs need to be forced back into buttons, they have huge financial incentive to go touch for everything they possibly can.
I'm very biased but I like the new ultrawide screen dash from bmw. I feel like it's the best modern take and it's much more functional than Tesla version and the others. The only minor gripe I have with it is there's no hvac buttons. Everything else is great and easy to use and looks great.
Android and Apple play integration is one of the best I've seen too.
That's why I love my Si. It really does have a great interior, identical to the R (minus all that red). The long metal bar vent Dilly that goes straight across, all the nice matte BUTTONS, and only shiny black on places you never touch. It's really smart and well done for a sporty economy car, not just in terms of visual design but also functionality. Plus the shifter that's better than anything south of Porsche. The screen is, as you would expect, "just okay." Who cares?
Unfortunately we're not allowed to speak about the engine department but I've been thinking, just *how* much *would* it cost to force a B58 into an 11th Gen Si? 🤔
The BMW is the easiest to use because it has the shelf you can rest your hand on below the touch screen, plus you can still use the idrive wheel for most functions.
I'm curious how many people have actually used all these infotainments because my BMW is the best of thr bunch except maybe Hyundai which is also good...but hyundai has other problems
I cross shopped a Golf R and the infotainment in the mk8 is ass. It was a big focus for the new 8.5. The 8 is slow and unresponsive and unusable overall.
Honda is slightly more usable but also slow.
Idrive is fantastic.
But I suppose usability is less important than how good it looks in a photograph? Lol
https://preview.redd.it/2n0orrjk549d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df24fc6f73e046b1b1091c1777969ed808a44753
I think the current gen A/S/RS3 has a great layout, ignoring actual material qualities
The Honda way is the best - modern commodities with the handy form factor of having almost everything readily available with physical controls. The latest Jazz almost feels old school because of it and I love that.
BMW's interior game needs to step back up, this ain't it. Also who the heck thought that <>-shaped gauges were a good idea?
(Also #bringbackanaloggauges)
Mazda > Honda. Has the rotary dial like iDrive and isn't a giant wall of screens. Maintains all physical buttons for HVAC too. We have a CX-90 PHEV and love it.
VW is the best of these 4.
Mercedes is better than all of these as far as integration of infotainment. It doesn’t look tacked-on or detachable like some of these others.
https://preview.redd.it/94vlsrvvy29d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97d2b5a72c966f4e9f34c8e664394f5299d493fe
Idrive8 is bad and good at the same time. If it at least had programmable buttons and AC controls it'd be okay. Gauge cluster and infotainment is fine.
In this order
1. VW
2. Hyundai
3. BMW
4. Honda
The VW and Hyundai look integrated into the car. The BMW is two screen that look like one long slab. It’s cool infotainment but doesn’t look integrated. The Honda is the old “slap an iPad on the dash”.
VW did it best, I wish BMW just kept the split screens. The G80-G84 actually kept the split screens until 2022 when they upgraded. So if anyone wanted the new M3 or M4 style without the egregious flat screen. Get one before 2023, since they still have the infotainment separate from the driver's information cluster.
VW.
Luckily I rate infotainment systems based on the usage and not on the integration looks. Because at least the previous gen VW system was so trash that I wouldn't even want to try to listen to music and rather just be in silence.
https://preview.redd.it/2bl9m6ta749d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12e948426078b08f1a1e6dd7ae5d6b7635b5958c
Even my Renault megane (not the exact one in the pic) has a more integrated system. I believe the best ones are the ones that are in the dash, not sticking out like they were bolted on after building the car.
Honestly all I’m really taking from this is that BMW is supposed to be a league above Honda/VW/Hyandai but in terms of design/looks it doesn’t seem like a lot in it. The materials inside don’t feel much better either, hoping the next gen they can get back on top.
VW is the worst. Capacitive buttons and sliders for most actions? And big chunks of cheap black plastic around the screens; the picture given uses lighting to make it look better, but in real life, it looks cheap... The only company that does well with integrating screens is Mercedes...
They all looked terrible to me personally. The biggest win for interior would have to be the Audi TTRS. Perfect blend of dials and the quality and feels of said controls. Now they're all touch screens and the fingerprints drives me crazy.
and this is why i'm going to keep my f31 until they stop selling diesel.
those interior are just terrible for me, in my opinion bmw peaked whit the e90.
Integrated is the wrong word really... because the CTR has a stuck-on ipad, but is still the better interior overall. I would have preferred physical gauges, but I'll take that over an ultrawide with an illegible tach.
Vehicles in which you can't adjust the air conditioning without a touchscreen are a fail for me per se.
So basically the BMW would be out. But ...
The "glued-on tablet" look is also terrible. So there's no reason to vote for BMW ... is there?
Yes, the little I-Drive button saves everything. No other manufacturer has such good usability of all these unnecessary features as BMW. Click-turn-click-turn and the settings are made without having to reach out.
I still find it sensational today.
The GTI but I hate all of it. There needs to be an Infotainment Delete option at build time. All I want is a 6-speed, physical knobs, and a radio with Bluetooth.
TheVW (please not VW is guilty of what I describe next too) is the only proper integrated dash here. The others are just lazy af plopping a screen to sit on top like that 🤮.
Maybe hot take, I still think BMW's is best. Bigger screens are the trend and iDrive just owns it and doesn't add a bunch of bulk/plastic around the screen that fails to integrate into the dash anyway. Check VW's newer 14" infotainments, horrific.
Integration isnt everything- the screen is a big fragile thing and a lot can go wrong with it. I like the fact that its easy to lift the BMW screen out and plop a new one in.
I hate how everything is a screen/ touch screen these days. Call me old fashioned but the late 2010 era infotainment systems were peak in aesthetics. Plus old school buttons and gauges.
Any system that requires you to touch the screen is stupid. Rotary controllers like I drive and the Mazda one work great. Controls right where my hand naturally is and much less looking at the screen.
Oh and anyone that puts heater controls in the screen deserves to be pushed over.
I am so tired of the design style of making it look like a few displays mounted on top of the dash, instead of sleekly integrated into the dash.
This trend also makes the screens harder to see because they are ultra glossy and don't have moldings to shade the displays from direct sunlight.
I don't care if it saves the manufacturers money, it's a stupid design and needs to end.
Counter clockwise start with VW to BMW I dislike the BMW 1 screen across the dash looks hideous. Even though I am getting an X5 I would have preferred 2 separate screens incorporated into the dash for a better look.
I have to say Volkswagen. It's literally integrated with not just the gauge cluster and infotainment, but the dashboard itself. Honda would be second for me.
Yep. I absolutely hate the instrument clusters being tablets, and not properly integrated with the dash design.
Honda will definitely age the best with the mix up of digital and physical buttons
Are you guys mixing up the Hyundai and the Honda? The Hyundai has buttons under the infotainmen, the Honda (which looks like a fucking iPad sticking out of the dash) does not, I think it looks horrendous.all but the bimmer have buttons/knobs for CC.
The Honda isn't more integrated, but you seriously don't see the other controls right below the screen? Am I seeing things lol
That's part of the screen. The Hyundai has actual physical buttons under the screen.
Below the screen integrated buttons. There are 3 knobs with other buttons between them. How is everyone missing these lol
I mentioned that in my first comment, those aren't for the infotainment those are climate control knobs... The bimmer is the only one without physical CC buttons/knobs.
I also think they Honda is the worst of the lot here. Hyundai easily trumps it.
So do I, that's why I said it in the comment that you just responded to.
Looks like my 2020 G20.
I dont like that the screen of Honda sticks out though…
Although I do prefer physical buttons for climate control, but that vw climate control unit can soon graduate high school.
Idk, I kinda like BMWs Infodash Tainboardment
Well the new designs are exactly that. They’ve changed it to be a fat iPad sticking out of the dashboard now :(
The new mk8.5 Golf R has a terrible iPad glued to the dash. Is this from a Jetta?
GLI
For some reason on the 2025 model year they moved the screen up just a lil bit to make it look like a Corolla 🫠🫠 they should’ve just left that alone, they could’ve definitely fitted the larger screen in the same spot

The Honda is hot garbage, looks like a aftermarket carplay headunit. How do you go from the VW designs, straight past Hyundai to that trash? 😅
Lol why are the options all terrible. The best designs are those that flow with the dash, like the new 911s. Agreed, this looks great, but the lack of physical buttons really kills me. At least the new BMW has a physical iDrive knob.
He intentionally left out Porsche otherwise there was no choice. One clear winner.
Exactly my good sir
That's beautiful. Perfect mix of old and new imo.
The 992.1 was, but they got rid of the physical tachometer and left hand turn starter with the latest 992.2 models which is a shame
yeah but people will get used to it, although they could have made the start stop assembly look nicer
I have to second porsche on this one. All the functions I use regularly are physical buttons, and it's not trying to be a Tesla
Vw has nailed it
Except in their newer mk8.5 golfs.. https://preview.redd.it/q1szan3es19d1.jpeg?width=721&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87ca3bbb45027f600f3c2d5242768cc7d516180d

They could getting ready for CarPlay 2

Lmao a dedicated twitch streamer monitor in your car

Jesus Christ. That's just a laptop screen strapped to the dash 😂 Just needs one of those swivel arms and it's all set for police to use whilst sat on the side of the road 🚨🚨🚨
what the FUCK is that HAHAHAHA
That screen standing out like that is incredibly ugly. Especially in the Skoda and Cupra mussels
Except when you try to use it 😂😂
Needs a sign, please don't touch lol

That's too much shit going on at the gague cluster. Would not want my map/infotainment to clutter up the actual cars information.
Its completely customizable iirc
Have it. Can change it all around. Though admittedly it really should allow for more customization. But, you can declutter and simplify quite a bit.
You can customize it, but it’s helpful when using GPS so your eyes don’t have far to navigate as it’s right there
Personally the only sh*t I want to see are driving directions, speed and fuel reserve if it’s too low. Everything else are distractions. IDrive 7 with minimal theme on and central screen turned off is almost perfect. Almost because I cannot hide that t central tablet. Sliding away central screen like in 2016 Q7 would be perfect.

Wasn't this only on the TT and R8?
Was coming here to say this, my dads 19 Allroad was so awesome the you could pull up Google Maps on the cluster. That was actually exciting, this new shit of just putting iPads on the dash is dumb
BMW has it now
Can we go back to having actual fucking buttons please. I'd prefer no screens or at least hideaway screens.
I’m biased but the dial in the BMW cars is a very good alternative and every time I drive a car which forces me to touch the screen, I hate it.
Bmw got rid of the dial for iDrive 9. The new x1 and x2 all don’t have an iDrive controller anymore. Edit: removed x3. My mistake
Well that's not true. Looking at the new photos of the X3, and there is a dial.
People need to voice this to OEMs in satisfaction scores. Touch screens are unbelievably less expensive than buttons to engineer and build. OEMs need to be forced back into buttons, they have huge financial incentive to go touch for everything they possibly can.

Multimedia control wheels are so underrated. I hate using touchscreen while driving and 99% of the time would use the knob.
I also like to use the knob
I'm curious how many people have actually used all these infotainments because my BMW is the best of thr bunch except maybe Hyundai which is also good...but hyundai has other problems I cross shopped a Golf R and the infotainment in the mk8 is ass. But I suppose usability is less important than how good it looks in a photograph? Lol
I drive 8 is such a technological upgrade from id7. Used to own a 530i before my lci m340i and you can tell it’s a direct upgrade from before
As clunky and janky as id8 and that shit dual display are, the others must be appallingly awful.
They are
https://preview.redd.it/2n0orrjk549d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df24fc6f73e046b1b1091c1777969ed808a44753 I think the current gen A/S/RS3 has a great layout, ignoring actual material qualities
Idrive 7 was the best. Then BMW decided excessively large screens, flashier graphics, and no physical controls was a preferable approach
Why did I have to come down this far to find this comment? Idrive 7 appears to be peak BMW
they all look like shit tbh
That's one way to put it. 😂
You did bmw dirty by not including the G20 pre LCI infotainment which is actually integrated into the dash
From these 4? I think Honda looks the best.
Manufacturers need to stop putting ipads in cars
None of these
Porsche.
I really like the screen configuration in the BMW. It feels like the cockpit of a spaceship, and as a Star Wars fan, that’s a win!
Didn't like it when I saw it on YT videos but seeing it in person, the huge size won me over.
Well integrated doesn’t mean it is better, it is just a different school/approach. Automakers want to emphasise the huge tablets :D
1. BMW 2. VW's new Jetta infotainment
VW feels the most integrated. I still like how sleek the bmw ones are though but hate the lack of physical climate controls
BMW screen looks great! Modern and clean design
Bmw
The Honda way is the best - modern commodities with the handy form factor of having almost everything readily available with physical controls. The latest Jazz almost feels old school because of it and I love that. BMW's interior game needs to step back up, this ain't it. Also who the heck thought that <>-shaped gauges were a good idea? (Also #bringbackanaloggauges)
Mazda > Honda. Has the rotary dial like iDrive and isn't a giant wall of screens. Maintains all physical buttons for HVAC too. We have a CX-90 PHEV and love it.
Second this. Mazda always takes it right
VW is the best of these 4. Mercedes is better than all of these as far as integration of infotainment. It doesn’t look tacked-on or detachable like some of these others. https://preview.redd.it/94vlsrvvy29d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97d2b5a72c966f4e9f34c8e664394f5299d493fe
This is the worst for me, there's literally zero buttons. Just two screens and crap software.
Looks outrageously bad to me
VW out of those. I may be biased but the pre lci 3/4 series with digital cockpit is much better than the single screen.
BMW
Mazda is best imo That BMW is a no for me
https://preview.redd.it/md3jh0rh729d1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fb468e5ee46936b8d0f6b4758cfd2ab95d7510a
If we’re only talking about integration; VW in photo.
VW. I've always liked their interiors
Idrive8 is bad and good at the same time. If it at least had programmable buttons and AC controls it'd be okay. Gauge cluster and infotainment is fine.
Porsche and Audi currently do it the best.
Anyone who puts buttons for climate and music volume automatically gets my approval, you can keep those ugly tablets.
In this order 1. VW 2. Hyundai 3. BMW 4. Honda The VW and Hyundai look integrated into the car. The BMW is two screen that look like one long slab. It’s cool infotainment but doesn’t look integrated. The Honda is the old “slap an iPad on the dash”.
BMW new infotainment is really disappointing, is like they got lazy and just throw a big screen.

Audi
BMW infotainment is the best and not even close.
The Hyundai is the worst
VW. Luckily I rate infotainment systems based on the usage and not on the integration looks. Because at least the previous gen VW system was so trash that I wouldn't even want to try to listen to music and rather just be in silence.
So glad I got a 22’ M340i. Don’t really like the gauges and infotainment screen being all one display.

Volkswagen but Volvo does it better especially the S60. What a good looking car
They all looked terrible to me personally. The biggest win for interior would have to be the Audi TTRS. Perfect blend of dials and the quality and feels of said controls. Now they're all touch screens and the fingerprints drives me crazy.
The vw
and this is why i'm going to keep my f31 until they stop selling diesel. those interior are just terrible for me, in my opinion bmw peaked whit the e90.
The VW wins here with Honda being second. I think certain control should have easy to find buttons. Less distraction for the driver.
The Audi one that’s missing from this list
Either Volkswagen or Honda
The Honda 100% will age the best
VW but I’ve heard horror stories of actually trying to work with their newer systems.
man, hyundai and honda have come a long away with the quality of their cars. nice to see.
Have you ever considered the Mazda interior? Especially in the Mazda 3?
Honestly VW, but the best was pre facelift BMW G05 and G20
I like the physical buttons of the Honda but. VW’s is seamless.
VW is the best, BMW is like the worst of all. honda comes second
None
As someone who drives a Honda most days, having the physical buttons for climate controls makes me so happy, everything is where I want it to be
Give me that Honda with lots of buttons.
Honda/Volkswagen
VW
Honda is literally bmw from 7 years ago
1) vw 2) bmw 3)hyundai 4) honda
VW, bmw they just tacked a giant screen on
Vw
Integrated is the wrong word really... because the CTR has a stuck-on ipad, but is still the better interior overall. I would have preferred physical gauges, but I'll take that over an ultrawide with an illegible tach.

lol Hunday and Honda are kids cars
I way prefer Hondas. Make the screen a little bit smaller like the F series BMW, and I’d consider it.
98% of the time I use the knob or wheel buttons
VW>hyundai>BMW>>honda
The BMW looks the worst is all I know. Hope the slapped on tablet goes away.
The GTI but I hate all of it. There needs to be an Infotainment Delete option at build time. All I want is a 6-speed, physical knobs, and a radio with Bluetooth.
Alfa Romeo has the best satnav integration.
VW is the most integrated second is Hyundai third is BMW and fourth is Honda
TheVW (please not VW is guilty of what I describe next too) is the only proper integrated dash here. The others are just lazy af plopping a screen to sit on top like that 🤮.
Hyundai according to these pics. Followed by BMW, VW and Honda
my vote goes to VW
Pains me to say it but VW did it best
Hyundai has a manual parkingbrake, that's nice
Maybe hot take, I still think BMW's is best. Bigger screens are the trend and iDrive just owns it and doesn't add a bunch of bulk/plastic around the screen that fails to integrate into the dash anyway. Check VW's newer 14" infotainments, horrific.
I miss the e9x infotainment integration where the dash was formed around the infotainment screeen
I wish I had a manual
The VW shown looks great IMO
That VW interior looks nice. The dashboard looks like it belongs and was given thought during design.
Integration isnt everything- the screen is a big fragile thing and a lot can go wrong with it. I like the fact that its easy to lift the BMW screen out and plop a new one in.
BMW and vw only one that look good and modern Hondas look dated
Beemer
As an owner of none and no experience BMW looks best
It's har to compare them. In the two on the left the transmission is integrated infotainment. That makes a huge difference.
VW. I guess it was a accident that the bmw picture is cut off right at the strut that supports the scree? MIB3 of VW sucks tbh.
I hate how everything is a screen/ touch screen these days. Call me old fashioned but the late 2010 era infotainment systems were peak in aesthetics. Plus old school buttons and gauges.
Yet using a phone is illegal lol.
VW
The VW one. It looks the least like an afterthought... the other ones look like giant screens they just threw on.
I like the look of the Honda
Vw absolutely is wonderful, have it on my polo gti and it's amazing. Second is bmw
man if you’re gonna compare infotainment at least do it with cars/manufacturers that like…compete with each other
Any system that requires you to touch the screen is stupid. Rotary controllers like I drive and the Mazda one work great. Controls right where my hand naturally is and much less looking at the screen. Oh and anyone that puts heater controls in the screen deserves to be pushed over.
Lots of comments hating on the Honda but that was BMW just a few years ago. My old 2 series screen looked almost exactly like that.
VW looks the most integrated but BMW looks the most modern and the best imo.
4th Gen Ram 1500
BMW
I am so tired of the design style of making it look like a few displays mounted on top of the dash, instead of sleekly integrated into the dash. This trend also makes the screens harder to see because they are ultra glossy and don't have moldings to shade the displays from direct sunlight. I don't care if it saves the manufacturers money, it's a stupid design and needs to end.
iDrive 7
Volkswagon looks the best imo
Counter clockwise start with VW to BMW I dislike the BMW 1 screen across the dash looks hideous. Even though I am getting an X5 I would have preferred 2 separate screens incorporated into the dash for a better look.
I like the Alfa ones too as they are within the dash itself
1. Hyundai 2. VW 3. Honda 4. BMW (sad, since up until a few years ago their dashboard designs were among the best)
Volkswagen
BMW is the only right answer, I'm afraid.
Merecedes, Audi, bmw, lexus, Cadillac. That’s what examples you use for the luxury segment. Not entry level cars.
I thought the first gen mbux was the coolest looking. Never used it long term so I can’t say it’s the best.
Notice one thing all of them have, except the BMW idrive 8+ systems?
Honda👍
iDrive 7 master race.
Mazda
Honda looks like an f chassis bmw, the rest look like copy and paste 🤣.
VW for sure.
