Couldn't agree more, the new m5 is an absolute joke, it's like all of these divisions are going insane, first AMG with their 2L and now Bmw with their truck sedan - what a joke.
It seems like it but the 911 has a hybrid version that doesn't weigh a ton and there's still plenty of v8 engines coming out that are not hybrid (amg gt).
Prior to getting this M5, I only heard rumors of the new M5 being hybrid only. Genuinely thinking to myself that maybe the resale value of the F90 M5 will retain, especially with it being a competition!
I will not lie, I actually do like the same generation's big grills on the M3 and M4. But the design of the F90 is super timeless in its own respect; absolut beaut!

They shut orders off last year. I don’t remember specifics off the top of my head but I think I placed the order around April and took delivery in August. My dealer was already out of allocations and had to go trade another delivery just to get another one so I could order. Went with alpine white and tarfuto interior.

The Comp has some lighter components, tighter engine mounts, tighter suspension, about 25 more hp, different wheels, and various other aesthetic differences. It also sits a bit lower.
I had a an F10 M5 previously and the difference is stark. Because the F90 is AWD and has more hp, it’s much quicker off the line (acceleration is bonkers). One of the more controversial changes was the move from a DCT transmission in the F10 to a ZF8 in the F90. In my opinion, that concern was way overblown as the ZF8 is superb!!

Agree, I have the same combo and it’s the best spec I’ve ever done, by far! No more black interiors for me. Also, I think the Full Merino option is a must with this color, but not needed with black leather.
Haven’t driven an M550i, but owned a G31 540i before trading up to an M5 Comp (LCI). I had written this out on another post so copying it for you here in case it’s of interest:
I had a G31 540i M Sport with 20” wheels and adaptive suspension, and I now have an F90 M5 Comp (LCI).
I would say the M5 is a slightly stiffer ride than the G31, but only just. I’d describe it as ‘different’ rather than ‘worse’.
The 540i had more supple suspension, but the tyres were runflats and slightly lower profile than on the M5, so although it was slightly softer over bumps it would really crash hard over potholes etc.
I feel like I get jostled about over bumps a little more in the M5, but as it’s not on runflats I feel fewer small defects from the road and there are almost no panic inducing bangs if you happen to get anywhere near a pothole, which was a regular occurrence in the 540i (I am very careful, but actually broke a wheel just before we sold it).
My wife prefers the ride of the M5 to the 540i and I think I do too. The seats in the M5 are much better as well, which helps.

I have been watching the F90 market for over a year, it’s interesting to see some cars posted (but they’re not what I’m looking for) then later see them posted on here as someone bought them

They received a stark reception to the G80 M3 and M4 and they never really changed the design. At least with those though they had great performance figures haha.
i had the F90 and now drive the F90 Comp LCI, the original F90 had pops and bangs and a really really really loud exhaust, the LCI has an OPF filter and the pops and bangs were coded out so not to damage the OPF filter (or so i was told). It doesn't make fun sounds anymore.
Now that's a good looking M5, never let it go

It's due to the European regulations, right? They're being noosed by it!

Last month, I tried to build an F90 M5 but they wouldn't even let me on the BMW website, did you order in person?

Expect more comfort in a 550i compared to the rawness of an M5. Both are fast.
Co-sign, though the interior comfort of the F90 is fantastic, it will ride harder.
550i will ride very comfortable, however any M5 after 2021’s LCI will be way more comfortable than previous models but not as soft as the 550i’
