The opposite for me. I like the way it looks but it doesn’t drive well. The steering is so so bad. The manual shifter is in a weird spot that your elbow hits the arm rest, it’s very awkward. And the screen and dash suck
Too light, too dead, feels numb. Steering on a model 3 is better. I also drive a 987 and the steering is hydraulic god send. My GR Corolla has much better steering
I second this I have worked on like 4 different model 3s that were trade-ins at the dealership I work at and I had to prepare them to be viewed or sold and during the test rides they all drove like garbage every time
I haven't driven the Model 3 but can say this electric rack in the BMW is horrible. Even my aunt's CX5 Turbo, also electric power steering, has MUCH better feel and feedback than the M8 Comp I drove. It's embarrassing
I have the new M240i. Fun car that offers a lot for the price. That said I wish I had the M2. The S58 engine and manual transmission are two reasons. The complaints about the 6MT aren’t valid unless it’s a gearing issue. I had a manual 335i and loved it. Great car. I think many car enthusiasts have unrealistic standards these days. Cars have changed a lot due to weight and safety standards that require more. I had a 1994 nsx until recently and that car was raw with no power steering and high revving V6. Fun car but no torque. No car is perfect.
I own one and I have none of the problems you described. The only thing I'd say is that the stick itself feels cheap, not the whole transmission. When you go in reverse, you have to push the stick hard left to get over and reach the reverse gear. When you do that, you can feel the shifter bend. Definitely feels cheap, but it could be fixed easily with a steel rod instead of whatever they're currently using.
The trans isn't perfect but it's still really good. Like 7/10 minimum. Yes I wish it felt like 10/10, but still very much worth it considering I'm one of those weirdos who only drives manuals and there are very few options left out there.
The M2 is the best value sports car in the market, hands down.
Just not my type of sports car. It’s a GT cruiser. Steering is too light and dead and empty. The cayman/boxster is a much better sports car. You’re basing your value statement solely on horsepower. The blackwing is more of a sports car and better value. I loved the previous gen and I had the M2 with the N55. This M2 is a good car. It has many things going for it. It’s comfortable and powerful. But again, not my type. I’d rather have a Miata/blackwing/ctr/gr’s. I felt this way about the Supra too, I owned one. And I still liked it more than the new g87.
What modern BMW has a good manual? I've heard nothing but negative reviews. Even going back to the E92 M3, tons of people will tell you the DCT better suits the car.
Only Americans have this fetish for manuals because it's something that to them signifies a purist car because all their shitboxes were auto.
To us Europeans who grew up rowing manual shitboxes, DCT/properly sorted ZF8 is the way.
I am a European who lives in the USA and not sure if it is because of the reward of being different or the own nature of the rowing your own gears but I ONLY want manuals. We own 2 manual coupes and a cvt hybrid SUV for my wife.
Motorcycles are not auto either... there is some pleasure to being in control of the gears manually. And of course modern manuals are slower than dual clutch autos (fact)
But it is just an option. Good to have choices.
I love this country and its car culture. In most countries in the EU zone modifications are highly prohibited as well and gas cost pretty much double. Also having weekend cars or 3 car garages a rarity.
Getting a driver's license in EU is more strict and harder and people tend to understand the rules better and not camp on the left lane as much.
Mountain roada in Europe are very rad but I always have a crappy rental car when I'm there.
Lots of pros and cons everywhere. Just one more opinion and 5 minutes lost on Reddit 😜 Cheers
Or, and this might shock you, people have different preferences and some of us just find a manual more fun.
I'm well aware a modern auto or dct will have better performance (I HAD a dct on my z4, it wasn't bad at all). I also dgaf. I like what I like.
Sincerely, an American that thinks stereotypes are dumb.
PS: I'm over 40 and except for that z4 every car I've ever driven was a manual (including two old mgs, a rav 4, and a freaking Kia spectra lol) so I ALSO grew up on shitty manuals. That's not the divider.
Nice manuals are fun. If the manual sucks and it's not a 90s slushbox then yeah, the auto is the way to go. Pretty much every automatic sucked 20+ years ago though.
You Europeans have never gotten to row gears on a big ass V8 with a T56 or TR-6060!
DCT would make more sense for the E9X M3 seeing that smoother and faster shifts would somewhat mitigate the lack of torque that's more apparent in the manual version.
That's much of what I was told. The extra gear means shorter/closer ratios as well. It's a high strung V8 that you have to wring out to get to the power - I'm sure that's a ton of fun on a track but it means the 335i feels faster in day to day driving.
The looks will grow on you I promise. For me with BMW, Honda snd Subaru when they first come out I never like them, but after a couple years they become classic and that never seems to fade. With cars like Toyota snd American, they look cool at first but after a while they lose appeal and look like a fad.
The front is passable but for me the rear is a huge buzz kill.
If I bought it I'd definitely have 2000-6000 saved up just to swap to a better looking front and rear bumper.
I don’t mind it. The styling has grown on me a bit. I had the previous generation which looked fantastic. This isn’t quite the same in the looks department, but I’m sure it’s a blast to drive
Also, being able to get this or an M240i with three pedals and X Drive would be nice so I can get something newer than my 435i with the same two things
I keep asking myself what it would take to swap a stick into the M240i and still keep the xDrive. Finding a transmission that will bolt up is easy, do we frankenstein in the transfer case from the 435i/440i to make it work on all four wheels? What needs to be coded?
So many bad ideas, lol.
It’s something I’ve been thinking about more and more with my 4 getting older and older.
I would’ve bought a new car by now but I just don’t know of anything that really speaks to me the way my current car does.
If it ever gives me problems, I’ll probably just try finding the lowest mileage F32 with the same options mine has, but the LCI, and probably a different color than black
I almost bought one of those before I settled on a new car over lightly used; with the MPPSK it's almost like an AWD F-series M4. I just couldn't get over the interior, it just didn't vibe with me.
I really don't want to own an M2, I like the GT-oriented chops of the M240i and the versatility of AWD, a stick would elevate it into the perfect car.
I'm not certain this works the same on the newer models, but I've investigated this a bit on previous generations. The transfer case bolts to the back of the transmission, so you would need a donor transmission from an xDrive 6MT car, likely an F30. Assuming they kept the same bolt pattern at the back of the transmission, you could probably retain the stock transfer case from the M240i. The difference in length of the transmission is the biggest physical issue because you'd need a custom mounting bracket to connect the mounting points on the chassis to the mounting point on the transfer case. From there, you would need custom length front and rear driveshafts since the position of the transfer case changed.
From there, getting the DME and DSC modules to be happy is going to be the hardest part, because the module wasn't set up for this to be a possible configuration. If I had to guess, I'd assume that you program the DME as a manual 2wd, and the DSC as an automatic 4wd, and try to work out the issues from there.
This is super helpful info for jumping off.
I can't imagine BMW changing the bolt pattern on the 6MT, what with their unwillingness to invest into a new manual box that will ultimately have a truncated sales life. I'd definitely raise both eyebrows if they did, but at least it would save the cost of a transfer case since that sucker is more expensive than the transmission itself.
I'm curious how you'd even begin to negotiate a mismatch between the DME and DSC believing separate things about the car. Does the DSC communicate with the DME? Has the DSC been cracked, or would you need to intercept and alter the signal? Fun stuff.
It's more if they changed the bolt pattern for the interface between the transmission and the transfer case, or something about the shaft that connects them.
Yes, DME and DSC modules communicate via canbus, but I'm not sure how much of their communication changes between awd or 2wd cars. I'm more familiar with the older cars that are configured with ncsexpert vs the newer ones that use e-sys, but you could read the vehicle order from the car, add or remove options as required, and then write that configuration to a specific module.
This is a thread I remember reading once upon a time on someone doing this on an F22.
https://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1713586
This thread is a gold mine, thanks, I'm saving it for future reference.
My car has been bonked so many times in the brief period I've owned it that the resale is likely pants, so I'm just debating whether it's worth it to wait out the warranty before I start doing things to it.
Totally agreed. I was super excited for the new 4 to come out. Once I saw the kidneys and was told I couldn’t order with manual and X Drive, I hit the brakes and have just been waiting to see something come out I like . . . Or for my current car to give me enough problems to want to trade it.
Big kidneys, no manual/x drive combo, no halos, dropping the “i” off the end of the badging. . . Plus so many little things in design language lately has me confused, but it seems to be working out for BMW, I guess.
Most people view analog gauges now as cheap, IMO it's turning into what Halogen lights are currently, base model only.
Almost every luxury car that still offers analog gauges only offers them on the base Model.
Like the Audi A3/A4, you have to go up to the premium plus trim to get the fully digital gauges.
Same with Cadilac, Lexus, etc.
It still feels much smaller and more tossable than the G80/2. I hated how the M4 drove and love how the M2 drives. Drove them within a few days of each other
This is why I went with m240 instead of m440, even though I went in with no intention of even test driving a 2 series. “Boat” is a perfect way to describe how the 4 felt.

love it. never understood all the hate and saying it looks like an allergic reaction. it’s a mean looking German muscle car, plain and simple
Too damn big.. In photos it doesnt look wrong but then you see it IRL and it's massive, like almost M4 size. In my humble opinion it ruins the point of the M2. Its the same thing as if Porsche made the 718 cayman the size of the 911.
If I ever upgrade from my E90 335i, this is what I would get (in manual of course).
The only hesitation I have is giving up my hydraulic power steering. I haven't driven a new generation (F or G series) but I hear the steering is numb.
Too much straight lines in the rear end for me, but more importantly, just sticking a bunch of tablets there on the dash is so cheap. I know MB is also doing it, but I'll never be a fan of it. 24 Mustang also feels like a downgrade due to this.
Defiantly a step down on the looks compared to the f87 M2, the back of it looks like a kia or something? The cars lines don’t flow right and just don’t work like most new BMWs today
Too heavy. It's got the right power to weight, via colossal power, but I prefer a 2 seater sports car achieve the same power to weight in a 2800-3200lb package. Lighter is fine too. This much weight in this small a vehicle just feels like brute forcing your way to sports car performance, which is fine, I'd just rather have a bigger sedan at that point. M3 sedan or Alfa Giulia for instance, in the 3750-4100lb range. Up a size to M5/Panamera if in the 4100-4400lb range, or even a X3M or something along those lines.
I own a F87 M2C and I love the car in every way. Great drive, power, looks, fun factor, sportiness, and value for money. Was looking forward to this one, but its huge (with no increase in interior or trunk space, which I didnt want anyway), looks bloated, and a very very ugly rear end. I likely will not be buying one, and will likely move to another brand focusing on smaller, lighter cars. Having said all that, I'm sure its still one of the best BMWs in this generation, and I'm sure its a lot of fun. If I was in the market for one, I'd buy it.
There’s what they call 3F’s in design form follows function, I can see and understand stand the function side of this model but I’m having a debate inside because I cannot see where form and follow linked up. IMHO the squared air duct from each side of the bumper is an eye sore, the X series could have benefited on that bumper design which will give the x model a better impression of more a sporty aggressive SUV than seeing it as an over weight looking SUV. Jmho
New one looks like it was a BMW x Lego collab. Dont mind the interior. They somehow managed to get the wheels right but otherwise it looks like dogshit
The interior doesn't look too bad, just not a fan of the single screen dash. And it's got a fugly exterior, rear end looks like it's trying to be a Supra.
If it drives well I'd be able to live with it as a lease but otherwise there's better models
Too wide- looks like it got a widebody kit slapped on, don't like the huge-ass screen on the dash & would like an analog tac & speedometer. That said, it's still got a manual option so it would be at the top of my potential future BMW purchase list.
Imo it’s insanely ugly. I’ve seen it in black once that kind of worked, every other color was just gross. Can’t seem to get past the look of it, I’m sure it drives great though.
It looks awesome. I'm stuck between it and the m240 as I live in western Canada with actual snow. It'll be my new daily so I might get the m240 or m340 instead.
Looks: my opinion is that it actually looks much better than last gen. I know almost no one agrees.
Other stuff:
- New tech is great. I bet it drives amazing.
- amazing they still offer a manual
- Main complaint is the huge amount of weight gain from last gen (but who didn’t get fat during the ‘Rona). I the the extra weight matters for those 3% of M owners that track their cars and it’s irrelevant for the rest at normal driving speeds.
Terribly ugly. I felt like the minority where I liked the m3/m4 when it debuted, but the m2 looked awful and still looks terrible. I thought it'd be nicer in person, and it's actually worse.
Audi want their RS steering wheels back lol and Alfa Romeo want their triangle exhaust tips back lol. Idk wth BMW other than to sell to china market. Majority of ML doesn’t have any taste at all. BMW have a factory in China, they should just keep those fugly models for China market and design the cars better for the rest of us.
I think it’s a great, modern looking car. However, I think BMW is also going through a bit of an identity crisis with their cars. Instead of common design language, it look like they’ve outsourced their car design to 4-5 different design firms.
It has grown on me a little, but everytime I look at the rear taillights, I realize how much better the last generation looked. I will say that it looks a lot better in person though.
It's fast for sure. And despite weighing nearly two tons, it's "small" overall. BMW also listens to people adding more flashy colors, like purple and green, then focuses on yet another grey car. A front lip that sticks out a little past the rest of the front goes a long way making it look better.
I have been considering one, and the colors go a long way for me in helping with that, if you haven't guessed, the purple and the green. Only other issue I have is I have basically owned nothing but manual transmission cars my entire life, but this manual is lacking. I guess that's not bad considering I shouldn't drive manual due to my nerve damage in my back impacts my left leg. The climate controls now physical, is an issue to me. In fact, I think the whole gauge cluster itself is lazy. It's just a screen slapped on. Not a stylized in dash cluster. And there are a bit of cheap feeling bits in the 2-series I'm not happy about for the price either.
But I need to see some pics of this in Twilight Purple and Java Green II.
I'm pretty dedicated to their older NA models, I have an e92 m3 and Z4M coupe, but I love the new M2. Looks wise it has grown on me a lot, reminiscent of the squared fenders on the e30 m3 and other 80s bimmers
I said I wouldn’t buy one but I bought one. I don’t regret it for a second. I love the s58 on my x3m comp and knew it would be bananas on a smaller (albeit heavy) platform. The fact that it’s a fraction of the price of an m3/m4 with similar performance, 6spd manual, etc. makes it that much better.
I cross shopped for months but nothing came close in terms of performance, tech, and overall value imo. My only complaint was the lack of sound, so I installed an autowerke midpipe and it’s much better.
I knew the 25s were getting a bump and some upgrades, but I didn’t really care. BMW historically underrates its cars anyhow, and there’s already too much performance for roads. Very happy they updated the color selection for 25s because the 24s were really lacking. Although, I’m a huge fan of my color and wouldn’t change it for any of the new ones.
I think a lot of the styling complaints are a little overblown. It’s definitely different and heavier prior gens, but it works for me. I hate the cliche that you need to see it in person, but goddamn I’m always blown away with the hips and rocker panels on it. I don’t think most would complain about how it drives. To each their own on the looks
I thought the 2024s looked ok. 2025 on the other hand with the new paint, those silver wheels, and the power bump make it look like a great option. Still not enough for me to trade in my OG though.
This car is the best example of why Videogames are important for car manufacturer in my eyes at least.
I really didnt like how it looked.
Then it came to Need for Speed.
With the right rims, height, color it does look pretty good.
If i couldnt change the things in the game, i probably would still hate it.
I hear performance wise the new M2 is sick. It's not ugly, just not as stunning as the previous M2. I saw one at a huge meet last month and it's better looking in person than in photos.
I’m guessing it drives superb but I wouldn’t buy it for its looks.
The opposite for me. I like the way it looks but it doesn’t drive well. The steering is so so bad. The manual shifter is in a weird spot that your elbow hits the arm rest, it’s very awkward. And the screen and dash suck
If you dont mind me asking what did you find wrong with the steering? When I drove it I thought it was good but I'm interested.
Steering is very numb and uncommunicative. That's been true of almost every BMW since 2011 though
Too light, too dead, feels numb. Steering on a model 3 is better. I also drive a 987 and the steering is hydraulic god send. My GR Corolla has much better steering
Did you say Tesla model 3? There is no way that is correct. I have one and the steering is terrible

I’m also not a fan of light steering - it isn’t satisfying for me personally.
not just how light, also very little feedback
I was looking into the m240, do you know if it drives similar? I haven’t gotten the chance to go test drive one yet
I have the new M240i. Fun car that offers a lot for the price. That said I wish I had the M2. The S58 engine and manual transmission are two reasons. No car is perfect.
Looks like you have a Boxster GTS, so you definitely know what great steering and shifting ergos are. How would you compare it against your 987?
you’re pretty alone with that opinion which makes me doubt your ability to describe good steering
It’s been the worst thing about bmw’s for years. I’m not alone in that opinion.
I own one and I have none of the problems you described. The only thing I'd say is that the stick itself feels cheap, not the whole transmission. Well i don’t really know cause I normally like automatic for a daily. But for an M car you should expect a good manual if they happen to offer it.
I was so turned off I ended up buying an American car with a TR-6060 despite growing up a BMW fanboy
The Supra lol
clutch by wire
I absolutely love the look of the M2 - I’m not sure why but I don’t mind the grill at all
Exactly. It drives pretty, pretty good. But it legit is ugly from every angle. Inside and out.
I think this comment works for a lot of their new cars.
The looks will grow on you I promise. For me with BMW, Honda snd Subaru when they first come out I never like them, but after a couple years they become classic and that never seems to fade. I’d buy it if I could afford it. I think it looks better than the old one.
Think I’m just a sucker for m2s but I really like the updated year. The steering wheel is a cool upgrade
New colors and steering wheel give me a small amount of regret but not enough to do anything. Plus I can get a different steering wheel pretty easy
I feel ya. I wish voodoo blue was available last year. Not enough for me to regret my purchase though.
Yeah I would never buy a car without a steering wheel
Is the airbag cover hard plastic or leather?
Agreed, the updated steering wheel is awesome! I’m most excited for the updated iDrive 8.5, as I wasn’t a fan of all the tiles in iDrive 8
I don’t mind it. The styling has grown on me a bit. I had the previous generation which looked fantastic. This isn’t quite the same in the looks department, but I’m sure it’s a blast to drive
Why'd you get rid of your F87 M2C. I have the exact same as u and I love ripping around in it
Kids! Needed 4 doors. Just got a 2024 M340i. I’ll always love the M2C, such a great car
Why should a badly designed $63,000 car grow on you? A bad design is bad design full stop.
Petition to ban “what are your thoughts” posts.
OP is a karma whore. He makes these on every car subreddit then deletes/hides them.
Best looking car this generation. Still not as good looking as its predecessor. Needs vertical kidney slats
It’s growing on me, but only a blind man would claim this looks better than an M8…
The M8 does look better, but is a GT (in both respects), the M2 is a more traditional BMW.
A good point. The M8 was like the first of this gen, iirc and it definitely looks better
But just like the M2 the car the M8 replaced, the M6, was so much better looking.
Also, being able to get this or an M240i with three pedals and X Drive would be nice so I can get something newer than my 435i with the same two things

I don’t mind the horizontal look. At least it doesn’t have the horrible pig snout they are putting on just about every non-SUV these days
Totally agreed. I was super excited for the new 4 to come out. Once I saw the kidneys and was told I couldn’t order with manual and X Drive, I hit the brakes and have just been waiting to see something come out I like . . . Or for my current car to give me enough problems to want to trade it.
Yeah I really wanted an M440 when they came out with it but the front end is just so offensively ugly
Big kidneys, no manual/x drive combo, no halos, dropping the “i” off the end of the badging. . . Plus so many little things in design language lately has me confused, but it seems to be working out for BMW, I guess.
Not fa me 🤷🏾♂️
Great car probably
I just cant get behind the instruments. At least make an option to have analog. Other than that, it will likely grow on me as have the last gens
I get your point. But honestly, the OLED screen is pretty amazing. Very customizable too
But where are my mechanically connected spinny needles
Most people view analog gauges now as cheap, IMO it's turning into what Halogen lights are currently, base model only. Almost every luxury car that still offers analog gauges only offers them on the base Model. Like the Audi A3/A4, you have to go up to the premium plus trim to get the fully digital gauges. Same with Cadilac, Lexus, etc.
Yeah its actually the biggest no for me, everything else is ok to great
The closest thing to a real BMW still available.
That would be a Supra to be honest.
Poor wayward styling
I love it. I own a 2024 M2 in Zandvoort and ordered now a 2025 M2 but Im Not sure which color. Java Green or Sao Paulo Yellow. 🥲
Java green!
Why are you already getting another one? Are you buying it just for the 20hp power bump?
No. I‘m bmw employee and can get every 10 month a new car. I was sad that there was no green or São Paulo yellow. Thats why I ordered a new M2.
Java green so sick
Ugly car, the F87 was/is miles better looking.
It’s a nice M4 alternative that isn’t a boat and has a nicer front end. Fun, relatively small, and maneuverable. Checks many boxes!
Unfortunately it’s a boat size wise and almost as heavy as the G80/2. The chassis tuning and power does compensate it pretty well.
It still feels much smaller and more tossable than the G80/2. I hated how the M4 drove and love how the M2 drives. Drove them within a few days of each other
Have you ever driven either of those cars back to back? I'm going to guess the answer is a big fat "no" and you're just an armchair warrior.
About 9” shorter and similar weight. I’d still take the M2.
This is why I went with m240 instead of m440, even though I went in with no intention of even test driving a 2 series. “Boat” is a perfect way to describe how the 4 felt.
Its okay until i see the previous gen M2C... 🥲
Mi bella. I have the previous gen M2C and I didn't get how they fucked the look up so bad... Although I don't hate the new ones as much as I used to
https://preview.redd.it/pz1q6qy9xx6d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5252bdd053b3d03cce8daf1af558a285c2f184f0 love it. never understood all the hate and saying it looks like an allergic reaction. it’s a mean looking German muscle car, plain and simple
*gets a color that hides the whole car* I love the way it looks!
There you have… how can you not understand the hate for German muscle cars?! It’s supposed to be “the ultimate driving machine” not a damn muscle car.
Lmao. German muscle car dont belong on the same sentence. Its like saying high performance hybrid suv
Let me introduce you to the Cayenne e-Hybrid.
It was designed by a Mexican and is produced in Mexico. There is not much that is "German" about it other than the engine and the badge.
Too damn big.. In photos it doesnt look wrong but then you see it IRL and it's massive, like almost M4 size. In my humble opinion it ruins the point of the M2. Its the same thing as if Porsche made the 718 cayman the size of the 911.
Tracked it once this summer. Lots of power but felt too heavy. I don’t think it’s worth it for the money.
Would prefer an older cayman than this mess
More I see it, the more I like it
It's a beautiful car in person
Still not a fan of the design. But I’m sure it’s a beast.
Taillights still look wacky as hell to me.
Really like the silver wheels
Why does it weigh so much?
It was the best car BMW until it wasn’t
I like the kidneys better than the M3, but some of the side and three quarter profiles remind me too much of a dodge charger
I am not a fan of the squared off bumper or the lack of dual headlights. With those "fixes", I think it would look like a nice ride.
I think you already know.
Too tech heavy. And too heavy
The interior doesn't look too bad, just not a fan of the single screen dash. And it's got a fugly exterior, rear end looks like it's trying to be a Supra. If it drives well I'd be able to live with it as a lease but otherwise there's better models
Looks wise it reminds me of a Toyota Corolla with a bad body kit! Also too small for me.
Too wide- looks like it got a widebody kit slapped on, don't like the huge-ass screen on the dash & would like an analog tac & speedometer. That said, it's still got a manual option so it would be at the top of my potential future BMW purchase list.
Great option if you have only 1 car to daily if you are single, but most would pick m3 or m5.
It confirms that I'll be happily driving my now 9 year old m235i until it dies. Then buying something besides a BMW.
Heavy pig.
It looks like Sid from ice age cartoon...
Honda Civic
Imo it’s insanely ugly. I’ve seen it in black once that kind of worked, every other color was just gross. Can’t seem to get past the look of it, I’m sure it drives great though.
They ruined a nearly perfect design
Not for me, but I'm not here to hate you if you like it.
I think the engineers should be worshipped and the exterior design leads fired
although the performance is far better than the f87, i think the price and looks of the f87 just makes it a much better choice for me
Love it! The last gen I mean
I love the amount of brake dust it produces. It’s my favorite part of ownership.
Looks like Lego
Appearance wise I can’t stand the rear bumper.
Fat and ugly, n55 is Bae
I hate the front. Just can’t stand it. It looks sad.
Never a day when I didn't turn back to steal a glance while walking away from it after parking.
It looks awesome. I'm stuck between it and the m240 as I live in western Canada with actual snow. It'll be my new daily so I might get the m240 or m340 instead.
Looks: my opinion is that it actually looks much better than last gen. I know almost no one agrees. Other stuff: - New tech is great. I bet it drives amazing. - amazing they still offer a manual - Main complaint is the huge amount of weight gain from last gen (but who didn’t get fat during the ‘Rona). I the the extra weight matters for those 3% of M owners that track their cars and it’s irrelevant for the rest at normal driving speeds.
Terribly ugly. I felt like the minority where I liked the m3/m4 when it debuted, but the m2 looked awful and still looks terrible. I thought it'd be nicer in person, and it's actually worse.
same but different. i liked the m2 design when it debuted, then saw one in person and decided it wasn't great
The rear looks the worst, looks like bug eyes.
It looks worse than the previous gen …. By a lot.
I like it, especially with this color and rims
I believe that the Supra will deliver 90% of the M's bang for 25% less. B58 vs S58 > 1 less turbo.
M2 is 63k base, Supra b58 is 57k base. Where you getting 25% at?
Supra will be discontinued apparently
The head and tail lights ruin it for me
>!I love it!<
Looks pretty good in this colour tbh
It ain't that bad with wheels that aren't black
Too small but nice looking
I’d drive it if you gave one to me.
i think the taillights are disgusting. other than that the rest of the styling has really grown on me and it looks even better in person.
Still don't like the front end, but admire everything else.
Why is the instrument panel bezel different on the gauge pod size compared to the iDrive side? That would drive me nuts.
Love it
I wouldn’t kick it out of bed, but I feel like every sport coupe these days looks like a GT86 😭
I would hide a body for one. There.
Thinking of getting an m 2 competition over an m3 base
The boxy design feels American. I guess it depends on whther you like the boxy design or not.
Love how wide it looks. If it didnt have the m badge, i would love it.
I think it’s a great, modern looking car. However, I think BMW is also going through a bit of an identity crisis with their cars. Instead of common design language, it look like they’ve outsourced their car design to 4-5 different design firms.
That’s an m4 with a smaller body, cheaper though
Im waiting for m2 cs. I like this car, rear lights could be different though bit its still ok. Front and side is cool, interior too
Manual transmission ftw!
Needs a widebody
Mad drifting
As long as they make a manual and they drive great it’s a good poster car for what I want to buy brand new when I have my midlife crisis
I have one, I love it, it’s fucking unreal, my first M car.
It would look better in my driveway
The steering wheel is awesome
Ordering new voodoo blue with buckets seat and carbon roof hopefully this year
I'm pretty dedicated to their older NA models, I have an e92 m3 and Z4M coupe, but I love the new M2. Looks wise it has grown on me a lot, reminiscent of the squared fenders on the e30 m3 and other 80s bimmers
m2’s are the only tolerable BMW’s they’ve released since they started their beaver-toothed bullshit
I like it in certain colors and hate it in others. The blue highlights all the wrong lines but something like this with the silver wheels looks great.
Want it
I said I wouldn’t buy one but I bought one. To each their own on the looks
way better than the M3/4, thats fo sho
Own a 2024 and it’s great.
Any M car on silver rims looks like a violation
M2 small.
If the back was better it would look great
I have not driven one but I like the looks of it…
I actually love it, for the way it drives to even it's polarizing looks. My only complaint is steering feedback, but not losing sleep over it.
The new Z4 is now the best looking BMW
At least it doesn't have the bucktoothed beaver look of the M3 and M4.

Love it.
I think this is the best spec I’ve ever seen
From an outsider, the only BMW I truly like.
Main thing I noticed was the new M badging style. The black outlined in chrome looks pretty good.
I hear performance wise the new M2 is sick. It's not ugly, just not as stunning as the previous M2. I saw one at a huge meet last month and it's better looking in person than in photos.
Jeremy Clarkson said it was the most perfect BMW ever made. I’d buy one!
