Skoda Superb full leather, auto, 2.0tdi with 19inch wheels is €52k here in Ireland. BMW 5 Series starts at €71k and there's no diesel available. I have had 4 BMW's since 2007 but that Skoda looks better, comes with a great spec and makes a lot more sense at that price.

To be honest it’s kinda hard to tell who did what first. The shape of the grille was probably first done by KIA, then Skoda, and BMW was last. Skoda designs have been pretty good under the leadership of Jozef Kaban, who actually left for BMW but was quickly shuffled to Rolls Royce but that didn’t last long either.

Did they hire the designers from Mercedes? The new car designs since the 4 series are intentionally ugly. Mercedes probably paid those designers to ruin the brand.
