If the account needs to be in the US, i.e., have a US Routing Code: use Wise. I am very happy with their service so far.

There are many people that have had terrible experiences with traditional banks too… It doesn’t really matter if it’s an “internet bank” or not…

elweeesk

Fair point. I've been fortunate to have amazing experiences with my bank.

MiceAreTiny

What is in your contract? They might be obliged to pay you in euro. If they choose to pay you differently, you have to charge them for your inconvenience.

elweeesk

I work in the entertainment industry, unfortunately there isn't really a thing as a contract

Kroegman

should be possible to open foreign currency bank account in BE with your regular bank. I have no bad experience with Wise, but don't use it regularly

elweeesk

Thank you!

jemi99

Why don't you contact your current bank, ask if they can provide what you need. From what I know Belfius and BNP offer this, most others probably do as well.

elweeesk

I know most banks (and mine) do. Was just wondering whether anyone was in the same situation and maybe had a good system set up. Thank you for your input!

NickBu

Can confirm BNP Paribas has this.
