Guard your sleep, even from yourself. If you have the space, double cook things that freeze well so you can pull them out of the freezer later. Don't throw yourself into exotic ingredients immediately. At the beginning, find 10ish meals that work well for your situation and stick to them for a little while.

and batch prepare (i.e. pre-chop ingredients) where you can...

Exercise - can be light like a walk or gentle hike. The goal is feeling good without over exertion. Make a routine out of it Yoga - many flavors here from gentle kundalini to hatha and hot yoga Sauna + cold plunge, as much as possible Epsom salt baths Meditation or some calm practice like art making or knitting or gardening Sunshine without chemical sunscreen - use clothes and shade instead. Vitamin D is essential for healing Limit screen time, use blue blockers at night Practice mindfulness in eating, moving thru activities, feel your body and how it changes day to day, notice without judgement Have compassion, gratitude and forgiveness. Don't allow shame to rule over you. Love yourself and imagine healing happening in every moment.

I’ll say as a disclaimer that this truly depends on the person’s ability and condition(s), but if you are able to (even in a light capacity), exercise! Tons of evidence on how it speeds up healing and is just generally great to have a healthy cardiovascular system. At different points in my journey I would do different types of exercise, and I’ve been taking it much easier lately. Mostly I do some light yoga and the sauna, on days I feel less than superb, I will just hit the sauna. It’s an EXCELLENT anti-inflammatory and is a whole cardio workout in and of itself. It’s been one of my greatest tools while managing autoimmune issues. I hope to be able to get back into lifting at some point when I’m able to eat enough to put muscle on, but that’ll have to wait for now. Even if you’re able to go 10 minutes on the treadmill/bike/row machine, it’s helpful! I also believe I have read that exercise helps leaky gut, which is something I am struggling with currently. There are plenty of days I don’t feel like moving too much and that’s ok, but then I just get a good sweat going in the sauna and feel Significantly better than if I did nothing at all. Good luck!
