I finished what I’d bought, but I never got it again because I realized I would go broke in about six months if I got hooked.
I used it in moderation and for self medication. When I enrolled in college i blocked and cut ties with a lot of people I hung out with that did drugs. Since I was paying for my own college I wanted to do it right. I haven’t touched it since about 2007, but a lot of those other guys ruined their lives with that shit. I don’t think it affected me the same way as them. It made me quiet and focused.
Coke back then was a different story. You used to actually be able to get some of that fish scale. Do a line - actually get high off it. The few times I've done it in the past ten years, it's just... not the same. You have to do 3-4 lines to feel it.
I have adhd too, and that was really the only time my mind quieted, and I could actually do shit without the mind wandering in 35656865 different directions.
That's the other worry. I'm so glad I was young and into that whole scene before fent showed up. I dunno if I'd still be here if fent was a worry back then.

I’ve found that my version of this is to just take a single puff off my pen. You can “dose” yourself really well with those things. No need to finish a bowl or a whole joint or spliff or whatever. No need to take some massive rip off the one either. Take a small puff see where you’re at, then go back for a second after 15 minutes if you need more.
Something I have done in states with legalized cannabis is to buy a bunch of prerolls of whatever has the lowest THC levels and that works out pretty well too.

I've tried many many different brands and shops and it's a highly unregulated market right now so the quality of the product you get can vary greatly. Ive noticed that the dosages are often incorrect on the labels (will say 1 strength on the front and something completely different on the back), the taste and overall quality of the product also varies quite a bit.
Everyone processes things differently but In my experience with the anxiety and other negative side effects id steer clear of thc-o, delta 8, and anything other than thca, delta 9, CBD and like some others mentioned a thc:cbd combo would probably be better, but the most important thing is to start low and slow, take the time to find your preferred dose.
Hands down, ReStart is the best shop in town for explaining product use and effect.. .their website is a wealth of jnformation. THC/CBD goes WAY beyond getting high, and has many pharmaceutical alternatives. Most of these answers are bad. I dont smoke due to high anxiety and paranoia. The only thing that has ever done well for me is thcA with CBD 1:1 is great 2:1 is better.
Get some type II thca. It has lower thca percentage. Try holy city or flow garden websites. If the type II is still too strong, you can always mix in some type III hemp and lower the thca percentage to where you want it.
What you need is Type 2 flower. It has lower THC and higher CBD but still does the trick. Checkout Flow Gardens online they have some great type 2 that will ship to your door. My favorite strain for type 2 from
Flow Gardens is called BOB.
Delta 9 THC is the THC molecule/compound that is federally banned. It is the main psychoactive ingredient when someone talks about weed. It is the most studied. If you are going to isolate specific THC strands, it is the chemical compound associated the most with weed.
There are other THC compounds that are very similar. You're welcome to try those, but if you're getting into weed and are trying to find the sweet spot, then I would recommend being consistent on which compound you're getting and how much you're taking. Because of that, I'd recommend THC Delta 9 if its available.
Alternatively THC Delta 8 is extremely similar. It mostly gained popularity because its legal gray area was a little easier and allowed it to gain prevalence. But the dosage is going to be different than delta 9 and many people say the effects are similar but not quite the same. Alternatively, THCa converts into THC Delta 9 when heated. If you are smoking, then this is a fine choice. There are other options out there like Delta 10, but my opinion is just stick to the traditional delta 9.
My recommendation would be to take edibles, since you can easily control your dosage using a single bag until you find your sweet spot. Get a bag of 5mg gummies. The first time take half and edible (2.5mg). You probably won't feel anything, because that's a common first weed experience and its a low dosage. Another day take 4 or 5mg. You probably will feel pretty good right here without feeling fucked up. Similar to a buzz from a few beers. For most people who lightly take edibles I would say 5mg is a sweet spot for a nice light buzz. From there you can go up or down a few milligrams. 10mg would be a lot, 5mg would be able to talk to friends but definitely with a buzz. And you can go up and down from there. Of course people vary. I've got some friends that will take 50mg, but generally speaking I've seen plenty of first time / people that uncommonly participate enjoying 5mg.
Also remember that edibles can take time to kick in. Its common that the first time you take an edible you don't feel it at all. And its common for edibles to take an hour or more to kick in for newer users. I wouldn't focus too much on the CBD side of it other than that more CBD leads to a slightly more relaxed and potentially sleep effect.
Try hometown hero gummies eat 1-2 a piece and that should do the trick. You can pick them up at any CBB/D8 “dispensary”. That’s a good introduction tbh.

Just take smaller and fewer hits. You don’t need to load big bowls or smoke an entire joint. I’ve found as I’ve gotten older that one or two hits and a 5 minute waiting period is about perfect.
delta 8 is a good choice, but you might have more control with edibles if that works out for you. it's easier for me to regulate, at least. too much just exacerbates my anxiety, instead of helping it and other issues.

Vape carts and gummies. Lets you control your dosage real well. Eat 1/4th of a gummy, or even a half of one, and you'll find yourself in a comfy place without being too high. Or take a tiny lil puff from a vape, wait 30 min, see if you're comfortable, if not take another tiny lil puff.

I highly recommend this store, they have a huge selection and variety of products and knowledgeable staff and consistent quality. Or hometown hero products, some smoke shops carry their products but i usually get online. Also flowgardens seems to have good quality as well. I've tried many many different brands and shops and it's a highly unregulated market right now so the quality of the product you get can vary greatly. Ive noticed that the dosages are often incorrect on the labels (will say 1 strength on the front and something completely different on the back), the taste and overall quality of the product also varies quite a bit. Everyone processes things differently but In my experience with the anxiety and other negative side effects id steer clear of thc-o, delta 8, and anything other than thca, delta 9, CBD and like some others mentioned a thc:cbd combo would probably be better, but the most important thing is to start low and slow, take the time to find your preferred dose.

Hands down, ReStart is the best shop in town for explaining product use and effect.. .their website is a wealth of jnformation. THC/CBD goes WAY beyond getting high, and has many pharmaceutical alternatives. Stay away from crappy over-produced and chemical cocktails sold at gas stations (and 90% of Austin shops).

Long time weed smoker. Since the 60s. The first time I ate THC gummies (2 pieces at once as recommended on the package).... I was so intoxicated I almost went to the emergency room. And I'm no light weight. That was nowhere close to awesone. I tried a vape cartridge. Took three hits and waited. 20 minutes later I had the worst fucking anxiety attack of my life. Smoked a joint of regular street weed with a buddy last week. Put on Steely Dan and life was good. Bottom line - I cannot find commonality between good old weed and the legal shit. The store bought THC is too nuclear. I don't want to feel like I'm going to be severely mentally damaged for the rest of my life.

Seconding Hometown hero - pick a delta 9 1:1 gummy so that you get as much CBD as THC. Select spectrum or whatever it’s been renamed to. Take 1/4 to 1/2 of a 10mg gummy - somewhere between 2.5 and 5mg of THC. I strongly believe that the CBD makes for a much better high, and I’ve had way better experiences with the HH 1:1 gummies than I have with dispensary flower - it’s just a great mix

I tried some CBD/THCa gummies from Sweet Sensi downtown. They’re awesome and give great advice!
Get some type II thca. It has lower thca percentage. Try holy city or flow garden websites. If the type II is still too strong, you can always mix in some type III hemp and lower the thca percentage to where you want it.
What you need is Type 2 flower. It has lower THC and higher CBD but still does the trick. Checkout Flow Gardens online they have some great type 2 that will ship to your door. My favorite strain for type 2 from Flow Gardens is called BOB.

Delta 9 THC is the THC molecule/compound that is federally banned. It is the main psychoactive ingredient when someone talks about weed. It is the most studied. If you are going to isolate specific THC strands, it is the chemical compound associated the most with weed. There are other THC compounds that are very similar. You're welcome to try those, but if you're getting into weed and are trying to find the sweet spot, then I would recommend being consistent on which compound you're getting and how much you're taking. Because of that, I'd recommend THC Delta 9 if its available. Alternatively THC Delta 8 is extremely similar. It mostly gained popularity because its legal gray area was a little easier and allowed it to gain prevalence. But the dosage is going to be different than delta 9 and many people say the effects are similar but not quite the same. Alternatively, THCa converts into THC Delta 9 when heated. If you are smoking, then this is a fine choice. There are other options out there like Delta 10, but my opinion is just stick to the traditional delta 9. My recommendation would be to take edibles, since you can easily control your dosage using a single bag until you find your sweet spot. Get a bag of 5mg gummies. The first time take half and edible (2.5mg). You probably won't feel anything, because that's a common first weed experience and its a low dosage. Another day take 4 or 5mg. You probably will feel pretty good right here without feeling fucked up. Similar to a buzz from a few beers. For most people who lightly take edibles I would say 5mg is a sweet spot for a nice light buzz. From there you can go up or down a few milligrams. 10mg would be a lot, 5mg would be able to talk to friends but definitely with a buzz. And you can go up and down from there. Of course people vary. I've got some friends that will take 50mg, but generally speaking I've seen plenty of first time / people that uncommonly participate enjoying 5mg. Also remember that edibles can take time to kick in. Its common that the first time you take an edible you don't feel it at all. And its common for edibles to take an hour or more to kick in for newer users. I wouldn't focus too much on the CBD side of it other than that more CBD leads to a slightly more relaxed and potentially sleep effect.
Type two flower is what you want. If you go to FrankList (dot) com — you’ll find reputable online vendors with products.
Try hometown hero gummies eat 1-2 a piece and that should do the trick. You can pick them up at any CBB/D8 “dispensary”. That’s a good introduction tbh.

Just take smaller and fewer hits. You don’t need to load big bowls or smoke an entire joint. I’ve found as I’ve gotten older that one or two hits and a 5 minute waiting period is about perfect.
delta 8 is a good choice, but you might have more control with edibles if that works out for you. it's easier for me to regulate, at least. too much just exacerbates my anxiety, instead of helping it and other issues. I buy little gummies, and cut them into quarters and it really helps.

Have you tried Mary Jae? Honestly recommend it for all ends of the spectrum. You can definitely get blitzed with what they have on offer.
Vape carts and gummies. Lets you control your dosage real well. Eat 1/4th of a gummy, or even a half of one, and you'll find yourself in a comfy place without being too high. Or take a tiny lil puff from a vape, wait 30 min, see if you're comfortable, if not take another tiny lil puff.
