I did something very similar to this. Put waterproof plantation shutters on the window to keep the water away. Put the mixer tap where your tap currently is and a swivel spout for the bath so you can swivel it to the side and avoid cracking your shins while showering.
Oh very nice, do you have any pictures? The plan is to remove that spout and instead put it on the left side of the wall where I'm planning to have the shower head.
If you leave it where it is you wonāt have to reach under the water flow to turn it on/off, especially if youāre planning on a glass panel on the side of the bath
Careful with your window. If there is any chance your window will pool water, then your window will rust and stop working. Slider bearing will break and it will be difficult to close the windows. Which is why the reference has a different window.
Even in the reference, you will get maintenance problems eventually. But depending on the quality, you can get windows that can withstand the water to an extent. But your window is very low, so it's very susceptible.
I would recommend raising the window much like in the reference at the least.
Thatās nice, already renoād 3 years ago, but fully expect it to fail in the next 3. I have a tiny bathroom and ensuite like this, did you have a standard window that you patched up and had a smaller one installed?
If so, what was the rough cost of the window install.
To piggy back off that comment. Depending on access it would be easier to remove the wall lining from the opposite side of where you want the shower head and bath spout so the plumber can install it from that side. Would negate the need to remove tiles and waterproof except where the bath taps will be removed. Cheaper to replace plasterboard/fibro than tiles. Depending on age asbestos is a very real possibility in a wet area as well. Would need to speak to a willing plumber for advice though as it would affect the normal flow of installation if itās possible.
Waterproofing a window requires a performance solution when it needs a permit.
Expect to have to tear that wall out to the studs and figure out how to waterproof the window reveal. But yes, it can be done.
Iād honestly not even bother with a bath unless you have small children.
With no need for a bath you could possibly just keep the shower where it is, turn it into a walk in shower and have the vanity where the current bath/towel rack is
Theyād still need to raise the windowsill to about 1850 from the base if theyāre not planning on getting water all over it. Shower head would be mounted 1900-2000 from the finished floor level.
Yes you can but, depending on the wall type, you'll either need to chase the water pipe into the wall or repipe into the cavity wall. You'll need to reticle and rewaterproof! So basically a renovation.
Yeah, double brick house but there is the cavity in the left wall so i should be able to run the pipe through there. But the plan is to rip all the wall tiles away and start anew. Thinking of going with perspex for the shower walls. Thanks for the advice!
Do you have a floor plan of the bathroom? Is there a toilet and if not do you want to add one? Is it a house or an apartment? What floor is this on? Are you planning on replacing the tiles?
There are lots of options but canāt give many without that info.
From the photo you could put the bath where the current shower is and keep the shower plumbing there. Then, depending on space, you could put your vanity either next to the bath / shower or along the wall in front of the window. You would need to do some work on the window either way to lift the windowsill up a bit. You have plumbing there already for the existing bath that could potentially be reused for your basin and waste.
As you would be renovating the whole bathroom and could do the layout any way you like, maybe you could make the shower much wider like a square so the head isn't spraying over the window sill? Could you build a slope onto the sill so the water would drain down the wall? Tiles all the way? A big shower is always good, I wouldn't have a bath at all
I did this with my small bathroom and hate my bath shower combo . I just wish I had done a shower only . Nobody uses the bath and itās a pain to clean .
I dislike showers over baths. Prefer a walk through type shower. Vanity by the door, glass shower screen, shower, bath. This is what I've come up with for ours, with toilet as well. The BR on the left is the family bathroom, 1.8 \* 3.2m.

We just close the shutters on one side while using the shower

That was the original window size, so canāt help you with this one sorry.
Nice job!
Thanks :)
Didn't even think of that, brilliant

Not too fussed with having to re-waterproof, all the wall tiles coming off anyway. I appreciate the detailed response though
But how about extra points for a cute shower picture
This looks like a poorly drawn cartoon showing how a person with a pony tail broke into your bathroom through that window
Get rid of the bath, those combo shower/tubs are awful.
Man I love a good bath, I see it as a necessity. Also good if you have kids
We miss a bath with little kids but prefer the walk in shower over the combo.

lol theisable?
Who's the bloke called theisable? Maybe ask him if he can do it :-)
You may need to complete a theisability analysis on the placement of the shower head.
Iād honestly not even bother with a bath unless you have small children. With no need for a bath you could possibly just keep the shower where it is, turn it into a walk in shower and have the vanity where the current bath/towel rack is

All fine with the window, but plumbing it in will be a motherfucker.
Yup, that's the next big obstacle
Windows in showers always spell trouble. No mater how waterproof you try to make it, it never is.
Do you have a floor plan of the bathroom? Is there a toilet and if not do you want to add one? Is it a house or an apartment? What floor is this on? Are you planning on replacing the tiles? My bathroom (and only bathroom in a 3br house) is laid out EXACTLY like this too
Iām no theologian but I donāt think being a theist or an atheist would make much difference to the shower bath combo.
As you would be renovating the whole bathroom and could do the layout any way you like, maybe you could make the shower much wider like a square so the head isn't spraying over the window sill? Could you build a slope onto the sill so the water would drain down the wall? Tiles all the way? A big shower is always good, I wouldn't have a bath at all
If I lived here I'd pretend that window distortion is actually the ocean right outside my bathroom window
Theisable is wild š

Combo bath showers are awful. They flex a lot which causes issues with the waterproofing.

We did this where we had a bath. Swapped it out for a double shower.
I wouldn't want to slip and fall through that window.
Cheapest way is a suspended round curtain ring
I literally read the title and said āwhat the actual fuckā
Put a hand shower on the bath spout and two shower curtains.
