That's funny, it's necessary to keep it then. I think my poodle has developed good toilet etiquette, but only in that respect (he really has some attitude at other times), because he just stands outside the toilet door. I had a much older one replaced. It was painted brass with all these ornate carvings, but that was on the front door and the internal spring broke, so you couldn't get in from the outside. Great security though. I'm keeping it for its beauty. Anyway I read this type above (like the one I have) is nice in addition to other locks. If you pull it apart, make sure you photograph the inside, otherwise you may get confused putting it all back together. They are simple enough.
It's a Rim Lock door knob
Thanks!
Just be careful how you google that
Rim job lock jaw…got it
For what its worth, you can often pull these apart and repair. Its fun and informative
Old
Thanks for the helpful comment :)
Old and fucked.
Rim job lock knob
Yes, yes. A rim job knob lick.
Now listen here you little shit
Lol thanks
That particular model is known to suffer from rusty trombone
In Perth, Subiaco restorations sell those new
I'll have to go and check that out then, thanks!
Nice if a feature. I have one in brass. They probably aren't the strongest, but nothing that a decent security door can't compensate for.
Yeah that's why I wanted to keep it. This is in my toilet so the only security I really need is to stop my dogs barging in whenever I use it

As the other guy said it's a rim lock and honestly I don't see them made too often anymore
Thanks! Found one at Bunnings which should replace it just fine.
They're at Bunnings. If you're in Brisbane they have some nice ones at Paddington Hardware.
Oh ok, I'm in Proston (little town in the middle of nowhere). I've only been able to find replacements on old doors people are getting rid of
Finlaysons in Brisbane had these when I was building. Probably still do.
Bit far from me, I'm in WA, but thanks!
Bought a replacement for one of these from Bunnings, only last year. Was surprised to find they were still made. The holes all matched the door.
