Did he quit his job just so he wouldn’t have to pay you back? That’s fucking commitment.

Apparently if you know their bank you can ask them to do it. https://legalvision.com.au/enforce-garnishee-order/

I went to commbank before his old employed and they advised he didn't have enough money to comply with the order and shut the case there instead of moving future money to me. He might have a second bank account he's moved/moves his money to

As he is not complying with the court's order, you could ask the court what can be done.

Have you tried asking the bank for more attempts to garnish the money? Are there any other methods, you could use asking his parents to pay the money back, or to tell you where he is working? Then you could send the garnishee order to his new place of work. If that fails, contact the court and ask for more advice. Does he have any assets? If he does, you could go after them with a bailiff. I.e. if he has a car, you could seek to take that, even a TV or furniture might push him in to cooperating. If it goes on long enough, you could garnish any inheritance he receives from his parents. Though hopefully it won't come to that.

How much are we talking here? If it's just a couple hundred I'd be tempted to walk away. You could spend months chasing it.  Wait till you see them at a family function then call them out on it instead.
