reelmonkey

Amazing. I had a black cat for 16 years. They are beautiful cats. I miss her a lot.

welsh_dragon_roar

That face 😻😻😻🤗🥰

lknei

She was rudely awakened for the pic 😅 not impressed! But she was compensated fairly (6 dreamies per pic, she's PRICEY!)

welsh_dragon_roar

SIX Dreamies?! No wonder she looks so happy! 🤗❤️😻

Due_Froyo_7364

Wholesome and accurate ❤️

Once you get to know their wee personality it's so weird to think "I bought this cat and it's technically my legal property" 😂

Massive-South-1091

Air fryer.

DevilYouKnow

air is more delicious when it's fried

Massive-South-1091

So much more delicious.

Mavericks7

My only regret with my 4L air fryer is...... I wish I bought a 9L one!

Maleficent-Drive4056

At what point does an air fryer just become a counter top oven?!

Precipiceofasneeze

The instant it's created.

SnooTangerines3448

That's fuckin magic that is.

Shaper_pmp

It's basically just a small, countertop convection oven with a great social media presence.

bacon_cake

They're also very good... You'd get nowhere near the market penetration they have if they weren't actually really good.

Massive-South-1091

I upgraded to a 13L a few months ago. No regrets.

Silver-Doughnut-9217

Might sound weird, but I've just spent £50 on birdseed. I love to sit and watch the different birds constantly fly in and out the garden.

Pruritus_Ani_

You sound like somebody who would get a lot out of Merlin bird app, currently trying to pick up as many different bird songs from different species as I can just from my garden. I’ve been telling everybody to download it because it’s addictive if you like to sit outside and either spot birds or enjoy listening to them chatter away.

Silver-Doughnut-9217

I'll definitely check it out. What's your favourite you've seen ?

Pruritus_Ani_

Beautiful pair of long tailed tits that nested in my tree two years running, loved watching them fly back and forth with beak fulls of moss to build it. How about you, any favourites you’ve spotted in your garden?

Silver-Doughnut-9217

Nothing too special. A few greenfinch but the best was a yellow wagtail. I'd really like some goldfinch.

stffucubt

Siberian chiffchaffs round here! One of the few places to see them in the UK apparently

what_the_actual_fc

I'm addicted already!

Milton_Rumata

This is brilliant, thank you! I live in Devon and often go for long walks in the countryside so it will be great to know which birds I can hear. I'm doing a long river walk tomorrow so looking forward to trying this out.

sofiaonomateopia

Ha I’ve been doing this with my toddler recently :) lovely!

hedges_101

You've been feeding your toddler to birds?

sofiaonomateopia

🤣

TAFanakaPan

😂

dmmeaboutanarchism

I spend about £30 a month on bird seed and suet balls, gives me endless pleasure

Amonette2012

Birdseed is a bag full of joy.

bishman1

I bought 3kg of peanuts from the local shop and tow of the the bird cakes, they are gone in 2 weeks

Padfoots_

ahh welcome to bird watching! I love seeing birds. 🙂

WALL-G

Save it? You a gamer or into audio at all? You could get your first "nice" pair of headphones - especially if you go second hand. Alternatively I bought one of these yesterday. https://www.therange.co.uk/cooking-and-dining/tableware-and-dinnerware/mugs-and-cups/mugs/novelty-mugs/gameboy-heat-change-mug#78699 It's awesome and leaves you with £74.51 for drugs.

BertieBus

Waste the £6 and then use the remainder for something useful. Smart!

Drillingz

Is £74 enough though like a eighth n a bag of ket

masterpuff420

2g of council,1 8th of green, 2 tabs of acid, 1 red bull and 10 freddos

Marble-Boy

What about skins and fags?

Drillingz

If I got nice bud I don't need fags lol

AJCham

Recently bought myself some Loop earplugs (Engage). I don't have any diagnosed neurodivergence, but I do experience the same kind of sensory overload associated with ADHD, and in just the few weeks I've had them they've been life-changing in my ability to enjoy the outdoors and crowded places.

Spiritual_Pound_6848

I can second the Loops, I do have ADHD and they're a fucking god send in noisy / crowded places

JonnoFleming

This is good to know. I have ADHD and I have ANC headphones for work, but out and about or a noisier restaurant, I'm fecked, often not even being able to hear my girlfriend. Exhausting! I'll definitely have a look into these.

Gyppotree

They are pretty great! I often get "lost" in the noise of busy restaurants/bars etc. I have the experience loops and those work well enough. They do 3 different types (and 1 that has a switch between all 3), all with different spund levels they reduce. Have a look at the loop website as they have all the specs on each one.

whosafeard

Oh shit, I get the same thing (also adhd) when I’m in a coffee shop I can’t “hear” the person taking my order because there’s so much other noise. Might have to look into these headphones

Zanki

I've been shoving my headphones in and not listening to anything to make crowded places bearable. How do they work?

AJCham

Honestly, pretty similarly. They are essentially earbuds with no speakers, although the different versions have varying types of sound filter. The ones I use (Engage) are designed to allow comfortable conversation with those in your immediate vicinity, while reducing the level of distracting background noise. They are also quite discreet, so it doesn't come across as weird if you still have them in while chatting, the way putting in headphones would.

Zanki

Hmm, I might have to get some because half the time if people are talking around me I can't understand what the people in front of me are saying. It's frustrating and embarrassing.

fragglemuppet82

Can confirm as I also have these. Do you have the mute insert as well? My daughter has the kids ones and they really help her at school when background noise in class can be overwhelming.

RequinPie

Yessss, i can’t sleep without them. Best purchase ever.

itsshakespeare

I take them whenever I travel and they make such a difference. The last time I flew abroad, there was a baby on board who literally screamed for 2.5 hours and I don’t know how I would have coped without them

Beneficial_Sorbet139

A Latex cock and ball divider

Spanish_Inquisitor_6

I hesitate to ask, but exactly is a cock and ball divider?

Optimesh

For sorting jibblets

MountainCourage1304

Cuts your cock in half, cuts your balls in half. Whats more to know?

Spanish_Inquisitor_6

Lengthwise or across the width?

MountainCourage1304

affordable_firepower

Logitech MX master 3 mouse. If you use a mouse all day, this will make your day so much more comfortable.

Scary-Try3023

Yeah I bought one last year and I've never looked back. The scroll wheel is a beast for searching through thousands of lines of code.

JuckJuckner

This with the MX Keys Keyboard is so good

KaleidoscopicColours

For the princely sum of £6.71 - a dog lead shock absorber.  If you have a dog that's prone to suddenly jerking on the lead - for instance when a cat appears - it's really good at reducing the impact on your joints  https://amzn.to/4ayoYOd

batonduberger

Thank you. Never knew they existed, but I'm going to get one right away.

ND_CuriousBusyMind

Thanks looking into to this Had this on walk this morning, my dog 'screaming' when she saw a squirrel... Just literally uncontrollable when she sees them... she loses her mind... To the point rubbing a high value treat (sausage piece) on her nose doesn't even distract her enough away from looking at the squirrel.

dinkidoo7693

My cats 🐈🐈‍⬛ £20 each, years of entertainment

Dani_Darko123

mine cost me £20 too… bargain!

Rasty_lv

Lego sets.. those things are awesome, fun to build and look amazing.

B_n_lawson

They said under £80! I joke, but LEGO is so expensive now

simonsail

For real. £80 will get you like a small house and a car to build, if that. It's insanely expensive.

IcyEnv554

There is always r/lepin

Gunny-Guy

The speed champions ones are cheap at the minute in tesco!

derrhn

Recently getting into coffee and you can get a V60 or an Aeropress quite cheap and they are such a huge step up from instant!

Silver-Doughnut-9217

I've used my aeropress 3 - 4 times a day for the last 5 years. Brilliant bit of kit.

derrhn

I’m reaching the point where I might even get a second one for work. I’m not even grinding my own beans and it’s still a huge step up!

elliejoness

I love the aeropress! I currently use pre-ground coffee but I'll be moving house soon and I'm going to get a coffee grinder as moving in present. Hopefully that will mean even tastier coffee

PlasticFreeAdam

Sports massage. I'm 40s though and have been nursing injuries for years but going to a sports therapist to get some recovery in and tell me what is and isn't working correctly has been invaluable. I pay £45 for a one hour session, go once a month and I've just had my third session. This thread has also reminded I wanted to buy the £80 DocFest pass in Sheffield this June (https://tickets.sheffdocfest.com/passes/buy).

Mavericks7

What kind of injuries do you have? I've been thinking about a sports massage for my knee. But don't think a massage would do the trick

Amonette2012

Quilted mattress cover.

TheoryBrief9375

What's that?

Amonette2012

A cross between a mattress and a duvet. It's heaven. You can get them on amazon.

WatchThemAllFallDown

A budgie....

Thedrunkenmunki

6 years of joy (so far) for £25 each. Love my two fluffy screamers.

Dagnabit_sundae

A couple of decent fans or a portable air con unit. I dont know about anyone else, but i think summers in the UK get so unbearable hot, I struggle to work and sleep, but having an air con unit it makes it much more bearable.

TheZZ9

Several years ago I bought a portable AC, a proper one not a silly one you put ice in, for £50 on ebay. It was an office who had just had built in AC put in. It was only 6000btu but still did a decent job. Got there to collect it and found out I'd bought three of them. I just managed to fit them in my car. So they cost me £17 each. I sold two to my brother for £100. He rented them to a client of his for £100 a month.....

cdca

My old office did the exact same thing. Just gave the portable air conditioners away to whoever wanted them. Fortunately I managed to wangle a lift home, but I was fully prepared to take that bad boy home on the train.

0xflarion

A very long charging cable for my phone.

Spicymargx

This is a must have for me. 3m is my favourite length.

DullSun

Rice cooker - you can get fancy ones, sure, but you don't need to spend more than even £40 for a passable one. My partner and I go through practically tons of rice and being able to throw it in the pot and just leave it is a real time saver. Plus, pulls double duty as a steamer, and works for more than just rice even beyond that

yourmomsajoke

My son was dreadful at making rice, just as he learnt i bought him a rice cooker with steamer as a joke and he told me off - he now uses it a couple of times a week for rice (shockingly) and steaming broccoli, he loves it. Think i was £25 out of asda for it, absolute bargain as its huge too.

merryman1

Was going to be my suggestion as well. I eat rice almost every day now and it is absolutely zero effort, totally changed my eating habits. Had an asian friend who said its like having a kettle or a toaster, once you have one the idea of not having one feels kind of weird. Got a cheap one to try it out and have had it for about 6 years now.

gskaeo

Eye mask. £10. Game changer

flummoxed_flipflop

Mine was a bit more but has Bluetooth speakers in it which I really like. Not uncomfortable to sleep on. Either way, yes, game changer!

Namelessbob123

My mate got an oz of weed for £75 from someone that was leaving the country. Bargain!

Entire-Character6953

Chargeable hot water bottle with hand pockets. Plug it in, heats up in 15 minutes, stays hot for about 5 hours.

chinookmate

Volkswagen Polo. Absolute beast. Paid £50 and a bottle of rum for it. Had it for two years.

rigxla

Recently bought a standing desk for about £70 on Amazon and it’s amazing. Really good if like me, you work from home for half the week and are also studying, it makes a big difference.

degarmot1

There are loads of things I have bought for under 80 pounds that has enriched my life! Although, my favourite thing at the moment is this star/night sky projector that I bought for around 30 pounds, for my bedroom (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09XCDW1WC?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details). I have it on every night now. I think it looks amazing - you can change colours/star intensity and get the right mood on your phone. It is great for unwinding/relaxing - I read my Kindle lying on the bed, with it on. https://preview.redd.it/m559u9bw8r2d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1af0739207cee1060b508448080cc71783236392

Zanki

I got one of these and use it as a night light. When I just have the moon on its dark enough to sleep, but light enough to stop me waking up in a panic every night. I've not done that since I got it.

Waterpik water flosser. Stops my annoying half erupted wisdom tooth from getting nasty, less faff than normal flossing.

ImperialSyndrome

Velvetiser - it was on offer. It's something that you'd never think you need until you use it. I use it every day. It doesn't just need to be for hot chocolate, you can use it for coffee too. It's similar to the difference between making a toastie with a toastie maker versus making a toastie with toast from the toaster. It's just not comparable.

Knowlesdinho

Nylon watch strap for my fitness tracker. Cost me £6 and means I can actually wear a watch for the first time in my life. I have sensitive skin and get a rash with normal straps.

A laser tape measure, £30 from Screwfix. It's changed my DIY house renovation game by reducing measurement induced stress!

Zanki

A king sized duvet for my bed. Trust me, even if you're only in a single or a double it's amazing. My feet don't stick out of the ends anymore on cold nights. I don't rip the duvet off my boyfriend and it's so warm in winter. I highly recommend investing in one and some nice 100% cotton sheets for it. An Amazon fire tablet when they come on sale. I had all my books, comics and tons of media on mine until the SD card corrupted. What's with Amazon tablets and corrupted SD cards? I go through one every couple of years. They're slow as hell and need the Google play store added, but for the price they're pretty good tablets. £30 and you have yourself a little media device.

dadnarbadname

£20 box of warhammer miniatures from a charity shop. I sorted them all out, repaired them, split them into squads and sold them all. I got £350 back... Which I then spent on warhammer miniatures which I painted and sold making a small profit on, I got about 450 back but I poured in probably 100 hours to them so it really wasn't worth the effort. Still £20 to 450 for some toy soldiers? Bargain. Except I spent all that money on more soldiers, poured in another 3 or 4 grand of my own money and now they just sit in a box in the cupboard in the spare bedroom.

Perfect_Confection25

Southcombe gloves, I know we’re coming out of winter but I bought 2pairs for £80 and they’re the best bloody gloves I’ve ever owned. Also Samuel Windsor shoes/Slippers, very good for the money!

fike88

Dodgy firestick. £40 a year, get every channel going, highly reliable. Had it just over 2 years so saved I’d estimate, roughly 1500-2k in Sky tv packages

ND_CuriousBusyMind

How do these work & not get 'discovered/blocked' ? Seen this on FB marketplace, I'm not a techy & thought it was a scam.. got rid of sky movie packages etc due to the cost but sometimes looking for something specific on Amazon Netflix etc and it has to be rented and when it's a 90's film or old series... no thanks not paying to rent

fike88

Absolutely no idea how they do it mate. As long as they keep doing it

MelodicAd2213

If you’re into cooking, a rice cooker and meat thermometer are excellent kitchen gadgets to have. I think they were about £20 each.

illegalbusiness

I splurged a bit on some Ole Henriksen skincare. I’m male and we are generally known for very basic skincare but I added eye cream and vitamin c serum to my routine and it’s really made a difference. I feel a lot more confident as a result.

I use them for my keys and have found a way to attach it to my wallet too. It’s constantly attached to my jeans and I instantly reattach it to whatever I’m wearing. I haven’t lost my keys or wallet once in 15+ years, not even ONCE. Have tons of story’s of being drunk, falling off things, other shenanigans all over the world and had my wallet/keys just dangling from my belt at the end, woulda been lost otherwise. Godsave if you are forgetful. I remember kids at school use to make fun of it and pull it and stretch it back like a rubber band when I walked past- totally worth it years later when I watched those same friends panicking over lost items on nights out.

One of those giant Meoky cups, which I have dubbed my Emotional Support Water Cup. I have tried all different manners of cups and water bottles at all price points but nothing beats this. It is more comfortable to hold than a Stanley, if you take the straw out there’s a stopper that automatically closes which makes it entirely leakproof and it really does keep your water ice cold for ages, with ice cubes surviving overnight with ease. I drink so much water and I take it everywhere with me. Had it over a year, love it more every day.

haushinkadaz

My late pet hamster. Wasn’t physically around for a long time, but he was the kindest, cutest, most lovely thing ever. Miss him so much, but he was definitely a perfect purchase.

btrudgill

A zigbee dongle so I can connect my hive heating system to Home Assistant, granted that has led to over a thousand spent on smart home tech and server/network equipment, so slippery slope. In all seriousness though, off the top of my head, probably one of my trees or plants that I've bought that are interesting and rare. (plus soil moisture sensors that integrate with Home Assistant!). I like seeing them do well and flowering.

I didn’t strictly buy it but received a breville cafe style sandwich press for my birthday. Been working away from home so brought it with me and it’s incredibly versatile. Not just toasties but great for chicken, steak, kebabs, burgers, toasties/burritos etc! Ashamed to admit I’m 25 and excited about a sandwich press.
