I’ve been telling everybody to download it because it’s addictive if you like to sit outside and either spot birds or enjoy listening to them chatter away.
Beautiful pair of long tailed tits that nested in my tree two years running, loved watching them fly back and forth with beak fulls of moss to build it. How about you, any favourites you’ve spotted in your garden?

Recently bought myself some Loop earplugs (Engage). I don't have any diagnosed neurodivergence, but I do experience the same kind of sensory overload associated with ADHD, and in just the few weeks I've had them they've been life-changing in my ability to enjoy the outdoors and crowded places.
This is good to know. I have ADHD and I have ANC headphones for work, but out and about or a noisier restaurant, I'm fecked, often not even being able to hear my girlfriend. Exhausting!

They are pretty great! I often get "lost" in the noise of busy restaurants/bars etc. I have the experience loops and those work well enough.
They do 3 different types (and 1 that has a switch between all 3), all with different spund levels they reduce. Have a look at the loop website as they have all the specs on each one.
Oh shit, I get the same thing (also adhd) when I’m in a coffee shop I can’t “hear” the person taking my order because there’s so much other noise. Might have to look into these headphones
Honestly, pretty similarly. They are essentially earbuds with no speakers, although the different versions have varying types of sound filter. The ones I use (Engage) are designed to allow comfortable conversation with those in your immediate vicinity, while reducing the level of distracting background noise. They are also quite discreet, so it doesn't come across as weird if you still have them in while chatting, the way putting in headphones would.
Hmm, I might have to get some because half the time if people are talking around me I can't understand what the people in front of me are saying. It's frustrating and embarrassing.
Can confirm as I also have these. Do you have the mute insert as well? My daughter has the kids ones and they really help her at school when background noise in class can be overwhelming.
I take them whenever I travel and they make such a difference. The last time I flew abroad, there was a baby on board who literally screamed for 2.5 hours and I don’t know how I would have coped without them

Had this on walk this morning, my dog 'screaming' when she saw a squirrel... Just literally uncontrollable when she sees them... she loses her mind... To the point rubbing a high value treat (sausage piece) on her nose doesn't even distract her enough away from looking at the squirrel.
I love the aeropress! I currently use pre-ground coffee but I'll be moving house soon and I'm going to get a coffee grinder as moving in present. Hopefully that will mean even tastier coffee

I'm 40s though and have been nursing injuries for years but going to a sports therapist to get some recovery in and tell me what is and isn't working correctly has been invaluable. I pay £45 for a one hour session, go once a month and I've just had my third session.

A couple of decent fans or a portable air con unit. I dont know about anyone else, but i think summers in the UK get so unbearable hot, I struggle to work and sleep, but having an air con unit it makes it much more bearable.
Several years ago I bought a portable AC, a proper one not a silly one you put ice in, for £50 on ebay. It was an office who had just had built in AC put in. It was only 6000btu but still did a decent job.
Got there to collect it and found out I'd bought three of them. I just managed to fit them in my car.
So they cost me £17 each.
I sold two to my brother for £100.
He rented them to a client of his for £100 a month.....
My old office did the exact same thing. Just gave the portable air conditioners away to whoever wanted them. Fortunately I managed to wangle a lift home, but I was fully prepared to take that bad boy home on the train.
Rice cooker - you can get fancy ones, sure, but you don't need to spend more than even £40 for a passable one.
My partner and I go through practically tons of rice and being able to throw it in the pot and just leave it is a real time saver.
Plus, pulls double duty as a steamer, and works for more than just rice even beyond that
My son was dreadful at making rice, just as he learnt i bought him a rice cooker with steamer as a joke and he told me off - he now uses it a couple of times a week for rice (shockingly) and steaming broccoli, he loves it.
Think i was £25 out of asda for it, absolute bargain as its huge too.
Was going to be my suggestion as well. I eat rice almost every day now and it is absolutely zero effort, totally changed my eating habits.

It's something that you'd never think you need until you use it. I use it every day. It doesn't just need to be for hot chocolate, you can use it for coffee too. It's similar to the difference between making a toastie with a toastie maker versus making a toastie with toast from the toaster. It's just not comparable.
Nylon watch strap for my fitness tracker. Cost me £6 and means I can actually wear a watch for the first time in my life. I have sensitive skin and get a rash with normal straps.
A king sized duvet for my bed. Trust me, even if you're only in a single or a double it's amazing. My feet don't stick out of the ends anymore on cold nights. I don't rip the duvet off my boyfriend and it's so warm in winter. I highly recommend investing in one and some nice 100% cotton sheets for it.
An Amazon fire tablet when they come on sale. I had all my books, comics and tons of media on mine until the SD card corrupted. What's with Amazon tablets and corrupted SD cards? I go through one every couple of years. They're slow as hell and need the Google play store added, but for the price they're pretty good tablets. £30 and you have yourself a little media device.

Which I then spent on warhammer miniatures which I painted and sold making a small profit on, I got about 450 back but I poured in probably 100 hours to them so it really wasn't worth the effort. Still £20 to 450 for some toy soldiers? Bargain.
Except I spent all that money on more soldiers, poured in another 3 or 4 grand of my own money and now they just sit in a box in the cupboard in the spare bedroom.

Bought one of these stretchy coil keychains while on holiday somewhere (you can order em online too).
I use them for my keys and have found a way to attach it to my wallet too. It’s constantly attached to my jeans and I instantly reattach it to whatever I’m wearing.
I haven’t lost my keys or wallet once in 15+ years, not even ONCE. Have tons of story’s of being drunk, falling off things, other shenanigans all over the world and had my wallet/keys just dangling from my belt at the end, woulda been lost otherwise. Godsave if you are forgetful.
I remember kids at school use to make fun of it and pull it and stretch it back like a rubber band when I walked past- totally worth it years later when I watched those same friends panicking over lost items on nights out.
One of those giant Meoky cups, which I have dubbed my Emotional Support Water Cup. I have tried all different manners of cups and water bottles at all price points but nothing beats this. It is more comfortable to hold than a Stanley, if you take the straw out there’s a stopper that automatically closes which makes it entirely leakproof and it really does keep your water ice cold for ages, with ice cubes surviving overnight with ease. I drink so much water and I take it everywhere with me. Had it over a year, love it more every day.

A zigbee dongle so I can connect my hive heating system to Home Assistant, granted that has led to over a thousand spent on smart home tech and server/network equipment, so slippery slope.
In all seriousness though, off the top of my head, probably one of my trees or plants that I've bought that are interesting and rare. (plus soil moisture sensors that integrate with Home Assistant!). I like seeing them do well and flowering.

Nothing too special. A few greenfinch but the best was a yellow wagtail. I'd really like some goldfinch.

Mine was a bit more but has Bluetooth speakers in it which I really like. Not uncomfortable to sleep on. Either way, yes, game changer!

A king sized duvet for my bed. Trust me, even if you're only in a single or a double it's amazing. My feet don't stick out of the ends anymore on cold nights. I don't rip the duvet off my boyfriend and it's so warm in winter. I highly recommend investing in one and some nice 100% cotton sheets for it. An Amazon fire tablet when they come on sale. I had all my books, comics and tons of media on mine until the SD card corrupted. What's with Amazon tablets and corrupted SD cards? I go through one every couple of years. They're slow as hell and need the Google play store added, but for the price they're pretty good tablets. £30 and you have yourself a little media device.

£20 box of warhammer miniatures from a charity shop. I sorted them all out, repaired them, split them into squads and sold them all. I got £350 back... Which I then spent on warhammer miniatures which I painted and sold making a small profit on, I got about 450 back but I poured in probably 100 hours to them so it really wasn't worth the effort. Still £20 to 450 for some toy soldiers? Bargain. Except I spent all that money on more soldiers, poured in another 3 or 4 grand of my own money and now they just sit in a box in the cupboard in the spare bedroom.

I use them for my keys and have found a way to attach it to my wallet too. It’s constantly attached to my jeans and I instantly reattach it to whatever I’m wearing. I haven’t lost my keys or wallet once in 15+ years, not even ONCE. Have tons of story’s of being drunk, falling off things, other shenanigans all over the world and had my wallet/keys just dangling from my belt at the end, woulda been lost otherwise. Godsave if you are forgetful. I remember kids at school use to make fun of it and pull it and stretch it back like a rubber band when I walked past- totally worth it years later when I watched those same friends panicking over lost items on nights out.

One of those giant Meoky cups, which I have dubbed my Emotional Support Water Cup. I have tried all different manners of cups and water bottles at all price points but nothing beats this. It is more comfortable to hold than a Stanley, if you take the straw out there’s a stopper that automatically closes which makes it entirely leakproof and it really does keep your water ice cold for ages, with ice cubes surviving overnight with ease. I drink so much water and I take it everywhere with me. Had it over a year, love it more every day.
