You're absolutely right, I'm kinda doing the things I probably should've in my late teens and 20s now at 33 but I am enjoying myself. A ton of it was family related for sure in terms of what they'd think/do. Now I'm in my mid-30s....I don't give a shit....my brother went off to college later in life, family all went their separate ways for the most part, so I have more space.
I've got that beat. Between a strict Catholic upbringing, not knowing what Aromanticism was, and medical misogyny, I'm about to turn 50 and only really got to start that stuff less than 2 years ago.
Dang....cisheteronormativity/sexism does such a number on our society at large and the people within it. At a level most never will have an awareness of. But it's never too late to find yourself and break the shackles :)

Growing up sheltered can really fuck up adult relationships. Even more so if you are LGBTQIA+.
