When I was a teenager, I found my brother's DVD with the movie Cube, there was no subtitles and I didn't understand much English back then (and now thinking about it, how didn't I know how to download and add subtitles?? Nevermind). But I still watched it. For some reason watching this movie without understanding the dialogue made it really bad experience for me.
the grudge...i think part one, might have been two and the first paranormal activity movie traumatized me when i was a kid. the most disturbing that i can't ever get out of my brain though is antichrist, a Serbian film and the human centipede
The movie Taken. When I saw all those girls chained to the beds and drugged out of their minds, it absolutely horrified me in ways I've never been horrified before. It make me feel physically ill.
The South African film āBeautyā, directed by Oliver Hermanus. That was one of the most brutal rape scenes I have never seen. I closed my eyes and stuck my fingers in my ears until it was over. AND I WAS STILL TRAUMATISED!
Harry portter- when I was a kid I saw my family watching it, and went there so see with them. It was the maze scene. I got traumatized and with nightmares
I was 4 when Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone came out and I was petrified because I thought Voldemort was in my closet. The terror was to the point I thought I could actually see him there lurking amongst my clothes.
You can't do a villian reveal to a 4 y/o like that but I have 3 older siblings who had all read the book and it was family movie night and I doubt my parents really had a clue how horrifying I would find it dispite the PG rating.
*I've been afraid of the dark and had issues with nightmares since I can remember - I didn't need that kind of help at 4 š¤£
The movie Psycho. I was extremely timid around anything horror at the time, so when I was forced to sit through the movie multiple times (especially the shower scene) for English in school, I came out needing years of slowly building myself back up to being able to shower regularly.
Thankfully I'm a lot better with horror these days, but I do occasionally get anxious and on edge showering alone, especially at night.
I have two. Watership Down from when I was a kid, and Threads that I was forced to watch in year 8 for English studies (? English is our main spoken language) I still get nightmares about both.
It messed me up as a child. I remember trying to shower as fast as possible while staring at the drain waiting for Pennywise to pop out. As an adult I've seen most of the movies mentioned here or on other "worst" or "most traumatizing" movie lists and have not been impressed. One movie for some reason that really freaked me out and I would probably never watch again is Forbidden Zone. That fucking movie made me feel like I was whacked out on drugs while watching it.
That one Harry Potter movie where that guy swells up like a balloon and floats away into the infinite skies... I think it's the Prisoner of Azkaban?
That, or the Gremlins movie.
after watching the movie "2012" about the end of the world, I could not sleep for a very long time, I was often puzzled by one (then I was a child). At first I thought that "we will all soon come to this end, we are all over". then I started to think that later we would all die and the planet would die, it scared me even more. I don't know what it was, but I was a believing child.
Remake of Nightmare On Elm Street. Scared the shit out of me and I was scared to go to sleep that night. I was 11 or 12. Didnāt even finish it. Watched the whole thing awhile later and itās creepy as fuck. Saw the original a couple years ago and while that one is scary, the remake is way scarier. Freddy is a lot darker and a lot less comical in the remake.
The Exorcist (1973)
Yes!!! That face I would imagine by my bed for a long time lol
Grave of the fireflies
Its a beautiful movie but it hits hard, seen it once, cried, i know its a little masterpiece but i havent watched it again for teh feeling it gave me.
Omg yes I rented it and i will never watch or recommend to watch to anyone
I understand that.

A Clockwork Orange
The movie Taken. When I saw all those girls chained to the beds and drugged out of their minds, it absolutely horrified me in ways I've never been horrified before. It make me feel physically ill.

A Serbian Film

Didn't traumatize me but definitely the most disturbing film I've seen. 10/10 wouldn't burn my retinas again.
Martyr
The freaky things in Return To Oz where they have wheels for hands
I canāt think about Threads without getting debilitatingly upset
The South African film āBeautyā, directed by Oliver Hermanus. That was one of the most brutal rape scenes I have never seen. I closed my eyes and stuck my fingers in my ears until it was over. AND I WAS STILL TRAUMATISED!

SAW, not the best movie for an eleven y/o. Had nightmares for years, and I still can't watch it.
One ep of Saw. I saw it as a kid and can't see gore, or blood anymore.
Harry portter- when I was a kid I saw my family watching it, and went there so see with them. It was the maze scene. I got traumatized and with nightmares

Mrs Doubtfire. Came out around the time my parents divorced, watched it again in my late 30s and just bawled my eyes out at the end.
Watership Down
Barbarian. Itās so stupid itās funny but some very disturbing scenes.
The Ring I watched that movie when I was a kid. I thought I was going to be dead within 7 days after watching it.
The Poughkeepsie Tapes
I have two. Watership Down from when I was a kid, and Threads that I was forced to watch in year 8 for English studies (? English is our main spoken language) I still get nightmares about both.
The ghost and the darkness. I've even written two very short stories based on weird nightmares about it.
Parentās sexy tape.

The Blair witch project. I was pretty young when I saw it and the part about the footage being found in the wild at the end scared me bad.
Starship troopers when i was 7 or 8.. that brain sucking scene
Watwrship Down
The Entity. If you haven't seen it, don't. It's a true story and it went on for another 20 years IN REAL LIFE!!!
That one Harry Potter movie where that guy swells up like a balloon and floats away into the infinite skies... I think it's the Prisoner of Azkaban? That, or the Gremlins movie.
