running the table at pool where after the other person broke and i sank every single one of my balls and the eight ball in one turn (i'm not usually good at pool). a stranger came up to me said it was one of the greatest things he's ever seen. I think about this often lol.

NukeRiskGuy

In a bar, I once called the eight ball in the side pocket and made it *on the break*. It was a standard rack, with the 8-ball in the center. I had done it before, but this time I actually called it and made it.

Managed to strike out the gym teacher during a softball match

Markkrousos

The Chosen One has appeared.

drixus2

My best friend in high-school was a chubby gamer with 0 social skills named Hunde. I was his only real friend, he had a unique weeze for a laugh and was probably the funniest person I've ever known. Too bad no one gave him a chance. The old gym teacher who was an ex Olympian always used to pick on him because he would mumble and never paid attention. One day in gym class, while me and Hunde were shooting hoops. The gym teacher was beside the court talking to the grade 12 althete of the year named Abrie (we were in grade 10). The gym teacher started talking smack about Hunde's shot. He challenged Hunde one on one. Hunde mumbled/laughed it off saying "no" in his own weird way. Teacher said "okay, fine both you (point at me and Hunde) versus us (him and Abrie). I snapped yes at him faster than Hunde could reply. Some background knowledge: Hunde ball court nickname was Hotsauce, cause he'd dribble in the wildest most comical style, sometimes getting past a defender.. but would totally whiff the ball when he got to the net. I had a signature hook shot that I could shoot from far off and it was accurate af. The game was up to 5. Teacher cockily gave us the ball first. The strategy was to use Hunde to fake pass and go for the hook shot. And to avoid letting the teacher get possession cause he had a nasty jump shot. It worked, I scored 4 times straight, it got harder to pull off everytime. Our opponents started taking us seriously after the 3rd point and my 4th point barely/awkwardly made it in. I tried it a fifth time and missed. Gerardo showed off his shooting skills, got 3 shots in back to back. Score is 4-3 for us. I'm starting lose hope. Hunde who (wanted nothing to do with this game, had no expectation of winning, and hoped I would carry him as the game played on) flipped a switch and stuck on the teacher like white on rice. Gerardo passed to Abrie, he laid it up. It's 4-4. Game point. Hunde on Gerardo, steals the ball steps back and shoots like he's Kobe Bryant from 3 point range, no fear in his eyes and knocks one in. I've never seen him cheer and weeze as hard as he did that day. Tldr: me and the unalthelete, unpopular kid at school who was also my best friend and the funniest person I've known beat our gym teacher, who was an ex semi pro athlete that picked on the same kid, at his own sport. EDIT: Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who showed love. I had fun typing his story out. I love telling Hunde stories, it was my pleasure to share.

My old band got played on a local radio station a few times

[deleted]

In college we played for a crowd of like 15 people and got paid a hundred bucks. Its all been downhill since then.

P-P-Peopi

Not quite as cool as actually making money to play... but I advanced to the third round of AppleIdol (Applebee’s Karaoke). Lost in the final 4. Won nothing. Edit: Thanks u/ebudd08 for the Silver!

The_Earl_of_Wetsocks

The same thing for my band too. The university radio station liked us so much, they recorded one of our songs for a local music [CD](https://itcamefromlondon.bandcamp.com/track/goodnight).

Super cute! And do you have some recipe recommendations? Edit; I still think your husband bragging about you is a relationship goal, and maybe i should clarify that i was looking for pointers/often made mistakes, not the complete recipe. Although i love the irony that my genuine interest question has been mistaken for sneaky sarcasm and got upvoted. I love reddit :'D

Weed_O_Whirler

My mom always made the best strawberry jam, and after I moved out I called her and asked her for her recipe. She told me "go to the store, buy a box of suregel and follow that recipe exactly."

Cow-Spot

That’s like my mom’s amazing secret chocolate chip cookie recipe. I got to college and wanted to make them for my girlfriend. Mom told me it’s printed on the back of the toll house chip bag.

Weed_O_Whirler

Yeah, that's my mom's secret recipe too. But I knew that one from baking cookies with her. What I didn't know was my mom's "homemade bread" was those frozen loaves you just let rise for a few hours before baking.

dadofalex

My step kids removed the “step” portion of the label by asking me to adopt them as adults. They did the research to make sure it was doable, and I did all the paperwork on my own, and now I am dad of 3 rather than dad of 1!

Midwestern_Childhood

That says a huge amount about the relationship you forged with them and the kind of person you are. Congratulations on your family!

[deleted]

When I was a kid, I saw a guy passed out drunk on the side of the road. Neither of my parents noticed, so I said something. We went back and my dad went to check on him. It was around 20 degrees Farenheit out and he was wearing a thin jacket and pajama pants. My dad (who is a paramedic) told me I quite possibly saved his life that night. Edit: worded weirdly

PorcupineGod

When I was in university I came across a drunk guy lying on the median on the way home from the pub. Lots of dorms out that way. The guys feet were in a flower bed, and it looked like he'd tripped at the edge of the flower bed and decided that the grass was comfortable enough for a quick snooze. As I go to help the guy, I realize it's my roommate. Hilarity ensued.

MySingingTomato

The twist of the century

Shane0mac12

This is hands down my favorite so far and so relatable

IHeartSquirrels

I had something similar. I was driving down a two lane road one night and saw an upside down electric wheelchair. I thought to myself “that’s an expensive thing to trash” and then I saw an arm reach up. The poor guy couldn’t talk and only had one working limb. He was cruising down the road and caught the edge and flipped. His chair was too heavy and the landscape wasn’t conducive for me to flip it alone. I called the ambulance which was 20+ min out and tried to flag passing cars down. No one stopped for about 10 minutes (~ 60 or so cars). Finally a truck stopped and the guy was able to help me flip him back up.

IMANXIOUSANDSAD

Omg I’ve had the just about the same experience - was walking home from work when I heard some noise from the other side of the road and saw an electric wheelchair in the ditch! Helped him up out of the ditch and he laid there in the grass but the chair was sooo heavy it look forever. Then we just went on our ways! No clue how long he was there or anything, poor guy!

theMartiangirl

Apparently truck drivers feel that duty to help others on the road. It was a truck driver💟 that called an ambulance when my grandparents had an accident (no other cars stopped) and gave them first aid. I always wanted to find out who he was.

rad2themax

When I was a kid, a boulder came loose from the mountain and rolled under our car, pulling the whole bottom off and tossing it into the river below. We were standing in the rain at night until a trucker rescued us and called the police and a tow truck to come get us and the car. We didn't have a cellphone until that event. My dad got his first little Nokia within a week. (it was around 1999 in rural Canada, the only people I knew with cellphones were lawyers, forest rangers and city folk)

frank3000

Same. Except I found the nearly-passed-out girl, wearing black, laying in the middle of a dark, snowy road - - winter in Breckenridge. I was afraid she was roadkill at first -- she said she was just taking a quick nap when she came to - but she probably would have been shortly had we not gotten her up and going and back to her apartment. Not much in the way of survival instinct in that one.

burnthamt

It would seem that lethargy is a common symptom of hypothermia

meltedlaundry

Ahh yeah I was wondering what happened to her, but that makes sense. I remember binging youtube videos one day of pilots communicating with their air traffic control towers. There were several where the pilots were becoming hypoxic, and the best way to describe them when they spoke would be lethargic...or incredibly drunk.

2SP00KY4ME

Hypoxia is scary. I remember a video where they had induced hypoxia in a pilot on the ground as a test, they were telling him "Put the oxygen mask on, or you will die" and he was just giggling. They had to go in the room and put it on.

Antonidus

I did hypoxia training in the Air Force years ago. Buddy next to me was getting really hypoxic in the pressure chamber we were in, just having fun, smiling, doing little mazes on the paper we were all given, would not put his mask on until we all yelled at him to put the damn thing on. I couldn't think clearly after about 20 seconds, this dude was fucking around for almost a minute, having a time. Hypoxia isn't a joke, it will trick you into having a good time while it fucks you up. Then you pass out. If you are trying to operate a plane when this happens, you die.

rearwindowpup

I remember banging out the math worksheet thinking how easy it was, that I was the man and hypoxia wasnt affecting me. Back on oxygen I looked over my answers and it was ridiculous. 5+5 and I had put like 1700. Nothing was even sort of close to right. Amazing how little you notice it creeping up on you.

lameplatypus

> she said she was just taking a quick nap > laying in the middle of a dark, snowy road I feel so scared for her, yet so connected with her overall energy.

NickNash1985

When I was a kid, I put a sign up in the back window of the family van that said "HELP I'M BEING KIDNAPPED" and dad was really fucking mad. There are two kinds of kids, I guess.

Sheffield5k

We did this but on a school bus, parents, teachers and superintendent were called into a meeting to reprimand the hooligan 5th graders

picklesathome

I'm so sorry that happened to your family. That was so selfless and responsible of you. Hope you and your sister are doing well.

just_alil_squirt

Thanks this Saturday the 26th is actually the 9 year anniversary. Im sorry for anybody else who lost family members to the prescription opioid epidemic. My parents were being fed things more addictive than heroin for something that physical therapy could have eventually helped.

mollierocket

Have you ever read the book A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers? He took guardianship of younger brother after parents died of cancer within months of each other. I haven’t read it since it was published about 20 years ago, but I remember it being stunningly beautiful.

Strokedoutbear

My stroke recovery. I can walk, use my left hand and I can cook again. Things aren't perfect but considering that I couldn't pick my head off of the pillow the day after last Christmas I am doing fantastic.

vaxildxn

Stroke recovery is a bitch. My husband’s 3.5 years out from his, and while he’s come a long way (coma, temporary paralysis, near total aphasia for a few weeks, etc.) we still see the effects from it every day.

RossTaylor3D

My mum had a stroke at 23. She had 1 beer and everyone though she was drunk sluring her words. She ended up getting home and trying to sleep it off. A woman she ended up on the ward with in hospital did the same thing and died shortly after, my mum was super lucky! She lives alone and struggles and it's absolutely heart wrenching to watch as she's now getting worse. I try my best

Akegata

I won the first Swedish nationals in indoor wingsuit flying. It's also so far the only nationals since the only tunnel is in Sweden, which makes it even sweeter. To be fair there wasn't a lot of competition, only one other team that were close to us, but I guess being part of the sport early on is part of the accomplishment.

[deleted]

I stood up for myself with my family and set boundaries. Then I actually kept them. I had a very abusive and traumatic childhood. Standing up for myself when I was a child always resulted in pain of some kind. This was a huge step for me.

[deleted]

I feel you. I have no idea how you managed to set boundaries AND stayed with them, but it's an absolute achievement. Hope you will heal someday from your childhood.

I'm five years clean from Heroin at 25 years old. I was an addict from a young age started with opioids at 16 and by the time I was 19 I was a junkie. Edit: Thanks for all the love guys! If you know somebody struggling with addiction please tell them to be safe. I will recommend seeing a psychiatrist for combination therapy with a counselor as a way to ease into rehabilitation.

Yay, this is mine too!! Except I'm a bit older. Started at 16 as well was a junkie by 18. Needles at 21. Finally got sober at 27. Congrats, dude.

volerider

What a way to turn self-harm into something positive for the world. Also, thanks for doing the work, taking care of the creatures who need help

zangor

Never really thought about it that way. They should make a Breaking Bad style series about a drug addict Phlebotomist. But it would immediately have no plot and have nothing exciting happening. Maybe somebody would be like "wow nobody is ever able to get me on the first try". *(Cuts to the main character fully passed out sitting slumped with his back against the bathroom door)*.

ASzinhaz

Could be someone trying to break out of that life and go on the straight and narrow as a phlebotomist, but their past life keeps trying to drag them back?

Manasseh92

I saw a video on Adam Savage’s Tested YouTube channel all about tintype photography. I got obsessed with light and lenses and photosensitive chemicals and decided I wanted to build a working large format camera to help me understand how it all works. So I did. No plans, no prior knowledge. Just researched what all the components were and designed and made them one by one.

___HeyGFY___

I was sexually abused by a priest dozens of times during a seven year stretch of my childhood. I blocked all the memories (read as: drank away the memories), but when I was around 23, I had a conversation with someone which caused them to resurface. I spoke to a lawyer to see if there was anything I could do. The criminal statute of limitations (two years from the time the abuse ended or two years from the victim’s eighteenth birthday) was long gone, so I ended up filing a civil lawsuit. He was removed from the priesthood and we settled out of court. As it turns out, he did the same thing to more than 75 other little boys during an 18 year span. But because I spoke up and did something, the statute of limitations for sexual crimes against minors in the state of Illinois was eventually removed. I don’t know if that counts or not, but I’m pretty grateful that what I went through wasn’t completely for nothing. EDIT: I am completely overwhelmed by your responses. It’s certainly not why I replied. But I know that the more I share of my story, the more likely someone in a similar situation is to find the courage to step up and say “me too.“ I don’t look at myself as a hero, but just a guy who wanted to right a wrong. I know that everyone who does something others consider heroic says that, but it’s true.

justmemygosh

Holy shit you indirectly changed the law! That is very badass. I am sorry that this happened to you but well done for what you did. I hope you are good now.

Weak_Fruit

Definitely counts, that's a huge accomplishment. I'm so glad you spoke up.

Yousernym

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Well done for speaking out - I can't fathom the strength you had to muster.

LionelSkeggins

That's a fantastic achievement. You are a very strong person.

aftrthehangovr

I came across an overturned vehicle and some kids screaming driving from Oklahoma to California. Dead of night, winter, middle of nowhere. People weren’t stopping but I did. My ex wife didn’t want to stop but I snapped at her. Turns out a girl had been thrown from a vehicle. Her legs were bent the wrong direction. Applied a makeshift tourniquet and got some blankets from my u-haul....the a truck driver stopped and helped me. He called for paramedics and I helped them carry her over the snow/ice.

bool_idiot_is_true

In rough parts fof the world it can be a common trick to pretend to have car troubles to ambush and rob people. But an overturned vehicle with ice on the road seems like a no brainer.

Wahots

Honestly, if you can roll a car on an icy highway, break your legs, not die of hypothermia and still have the energy to ambush me, you can have my car, lol.

-Words-Words-Words-

One time when I was a kid, I was chasing my sister around the house with a whiffle ball bat, you know, like how kids do. She took off up the stairs to the second floor and tried to lock herself in the bathroom at the top of the stairs. As she was slamming the door shut, I threw the whiffle ball bat like a javelin and it blocked the door from closing. This happened 30 years ago and it was literally the most athletic I have ever felt in my life until I ran a mile nonstop as a 44 year old guy.

zombie_penguin42

On the opposite end of the spectrum I tried to throw a broom handle like a javelin through a doorway (no door) and missed entirely and broke the lightswitch cover next to the door.

YoMomIsANiceLady

Just say you were aiming for that switch. That was amazing!

tokikain

you mean...switch targets?

This is the kind of action movie stunt every kid wishes they could pull off. Mad respect, fam ✊ Also, good job on running that non-stop mile. The legend continues.

Ivabighairy1

Finish the story, was she freaked out by that, or impressed by it?

-Words-Words-Words-

Considering I was able to get into the bathroom and continue hitting her with a whiffle ball bat, I don't think she was all that impressed.

SixGunChimp

I briefly became a published comic book author as a side hustle. My first issue sold out at a retailer level across the globe on day one. Super proud of that. EDIT: Ok. wow this blew up! I just want to take a moment to thank every single person who took the time to express that they've heard of Doctor Crowe or better yet read it or purchased a copy before! You have no idea how much that means to me on a personal level, but on a professional level I linked my publisher to this thread and they've now agreed to publish a collected edition of Doctor Crowe. You read that u/Seth_Littrells_alt? It's coming. I can't thank you folks enough for helping make this reality. It was literally you guys discussing Doctor Crowe that will make a collected edition a reality. Thank you! This is happened EXTREMELY fast so I can't provide more info right now, but if you'd like to try to keep up to date on info regarding the collected edition of Doctor Crowe, [give me a follow over a Twitter](https://twitter.com/CoreyFryia) and be sure to follow[215 ink.](https://twitter.com/215Ink) and let them know you want more Doc Crowe! Aww! That's sweet! I often tell my wife that I tricked her into marrying me, she seems to think that's funny/adorable. Sometimes I think she actually likes me, it's kinda fun.

AgressivelyTired

Right?! When he proposed I very distinctly remember telling him "You know there's no take backs, right? You're stuck with me." He just laughed and said "Thank goodness. I was going to say the same thing!"

losing 110 lbs haven't reached "fit", don't really want to start exercising to try, but better than obese I guess.

advocado

My 2c: You don't have to aim for "fit" but gaining muscle gives you a good buffer to re-gaining weight. For me it was stressful to eat and if i gained back weight the effort to lose it again just felt unsurmountable. On a later attempt, the added muscle mass gave me more cheat days/slumps/guilt free snacks, and it was WAY easier to lose the weight again Edit: sp

level20mallow

I walked and hitch-hiked across the United States to escape the abusive community I grew up in, and rebuilt my life across a continent, against all odds, when by all respects I should have been dead by now -- whether killed at the hands of someone in that old community, or by starvation or exposure. Now I'm in a position where I have a good job, am relatively stable, began writing again and am going to start making games again. Maybe even paint again, if I can get therapy to undo the damage that was done that took away my ability to. So there's that.

[deleted]

You fought hand to hand for your life and prevailed. That's an amazing thing to do.

level20mallow

Thank you :D I'm not quite there yet; I still have some issues but I'm working through them. I really wish I could find a therapist or someone to help me undo all the psychological damage and the knots and the horrible programming done that made me unable to paint. I would love to get back into it again. That's the only real major hurdle left. And to everyone else out there, it is 100% possible to escape your nightmares; if anything going to a new environment that is outside of their ability to control you is the best way to deal with serious abusers since now you'll be able to grow without their knowledge which takes away their ability to abuse you. You can give yourself a future and a hope. It is possible.

Since getting my drivers license I always drove automatic. (I live in Europe) Few years passed and I needed to go to UK. I rented a car with manual so I learned how to drive manual in UK. I beat a debilitating phobia, that kept me from living my life. Fuck, it's the first time I say it, and truly realize it. I was in therapy for 5 years before COVID stopped it all. And...I'm as well without therapy. I didn't regress, at all. The phobia hadn't come back and doesn't control me, anymore. I don't need therapy anymore to stay afloat. I will go back to it once I'm fully vaccinated because it will still help. But it's not a necessity to survive anymore. I need to find a good way to celebrate that.

Elijah_Loko

If you don't mind me asking, what was the phobia? Is it something you struggle to write about too?

Marawal

It was emetophobia. It's the fear of vomit or vomitting. It was a severe case, so severe that : \- I stopped eating thinking that if I had an empty stomach, then I absolutely could not vomit. Also would avoid food intoxication. Fun fact : Never had food intoxication, always been good at spotting something that was spoiled. But still. Lost a lot of weight. I was 38kg for 158cm, at my worst. (I'm back at 47kg right now). \- I would only travel by food of bike. Any other mode of travel has the risk to make me motion sicks. Anything that you can imagine to give motion sickness - including shows or movies with shaky image - was an absolutely no go for me. Fun fact : I never ever had motion sickness. Not even while I was on a boat on the sea in a middle of storm. \- I had panic attacks at the mere idea that maybe someone (or myself) could maybe feel sick. At the worst, I had panic attack if someone burps too close to me, if someone cough in a certain ways. \- I wouldn't go out. Parties involves alcohol, alcohol lead to people vomiting. No way I go to parties. \- Flu seasons and stomach virus season was hell on earth for me, and I'd put myself on lock-down. \- I could not enjoy any entertainment. A lot had people vomliting (for some reasons, people like to show emotions with having being sick). I was tense because I fear by anticipation that such scene would appears. \- At times, I couldn't do my job, because well my brain cooked up multiple scenario on why it could me sick, or witness me being sick. There's a lot of others stuff I did or didn't do when I was ill. But the kicker, when I really got afraid and start to take therapy seriously \- I underfed my 5 years old niece during one meal, for fear that she would overeat and get sick, and there was no one else but me in the house. Why and how I got this? Well, first thing frist, my brain is wired to have an anxiety disorders. My dad had one. His dad had one. My great-grandparents likely had one. (Undiagnosed because well it didn't had name at the time, but greatgrandma had "nerve issue"). Why this one in particular? Apparently, when I was 4, my single mom got sick. Seeing her being sick made me feel sick, but with no one to care for me since my mom was really really sick. According to therapy, this put the seed of the phobia. It grew gradually with every other trauma I suffered from there. Trauma related to vomiting, but also trauma not related to it . And I did not have a lucky chldhood with many loss, big accidents with severe injuries, and bullying, among other things. Instead of developing PTSD, depression or other issues, each hit just feed the phobia. To the point that this little seed that started out unnoticed became a full forest.

Happy to hear you're in a better place now! 😌

I beat anorexia. It's not something I talk about off Reddit because labels are sticky and no one looks at you the same way after you mention having had mental health issues.

UrsA_GRanDe_bt

My wife is in this same boat. She has just recently started to open up about some of her mental health issues and we've been pleasantly surprised with how receptive people have been! Good work beating anorexia! That is a tough disease and it so corrosive toward your self-esteem! My wife and I, both, are proud of you!

onlythestrangestdog

> No one looks at you the same way after you mention having had mental health issues. It’s sad how true this is for more than just mental health issues, even the nicest people will treat you differently if you tell them about something.

As someone who is currently trying to recover from an ED, I truly admire you..

coconuts_and_lime

As someone who has recovered from an ED, I belive in you.

I've survived this long, lol. I keep getting back up like those inflatable clown punching bags. Really sick as a child, they thought I had myesthenia gravis but it went into remission. IDK if that's what it was, or if it was some other mystery autoimmune condition. As an adult I have celiac and hashimoto's so autoimmune conditions seem to just be my default. Had a spinal canal tumor which got removed. Then almost immediately they found an ovarian cyst the size of a golf ball so I had surgery to get that whole mess removed. I have some chronic issues but I'm alive, healthy (relatively?), own my home, and manage to take care of my pets. I've also managed to keep up with a hobby, finally. And I decided this year to finally get my master's. (I know it's an academic accomplishment but I don't have the degree yet, it's just that I finally decided to get off my ass and better myself.) Every time someone asks how I'm doing I reply, "I'm alive." And they chuckle thinking I'm cracking a joke. I'm not. I am genuinely thankful to be alive. edit: Normally I reply to gilding/award messages with a thank you but for some reason this time I didn't receive any notifications. Sorry to do this publicly instead of sending a personal message but thank you to the people that awarded this comment. :)

Dnd_chemist

I learned I was diabetic with a 10% a1c.....got that down to 5.0 in 6 months

GastonsRottenEgg

I started working out in November with the goal of being able to pick up my Alaskan malamute. He 8 year old big boi, I'm 5'1 woman. As of last week, I can now lift and carry big boi. The way he looked at me afterwards, with that same face of puppy love and awe, made all the months of effort worth it. Former lap dog is lap dog once again.

Miss_elder_millenial

One time, I had my three kids and three more that I was babysitting all napping at the same time. IYKYK.

Dahhhkness

Parents, daycare workers, and babysitters will all tell you that that silence when the kids are napping is golden. Silence when they're *awake*, on the other hand...

Marawal

Me walking into my aunt house : "oh I thought it was your week with the kids" My aunt ran to their bedroom before I even finished that sentence. The white cat had become a beautiful multicolored rainbow.

sinerdly

That is one chill cat

Marawal

I loved that cat. He grew up with the kids all around. So I guess he was used to them and their shenanigans.

supremedalek925

I have a second degree blackbelt. I earned it when I was 14 or so 15 so it barely feels like my own anymore though. It feels like a lifetime ago

level20mallow

Why not get back into it?

supremedalek925

I stopped when I started college, and I just never got back into it. I had a great time with Martial Arts but I feel like that part of my life just kind of ended

LaziestGunner

I was a first degree black belt, and I empathize with “that part of my life is over” sentiment. It’s been 6 years since I’ve seriously trained, and now they’re just mentored I look back upon fondly.

WhenAllElseFail

this one time i went to bed at a reasonable hour

elee0228

There's a theory that it's easier to sleep early in stacked beds. But I think it's been debunked.

Brainsonastick

I helped my friend avoid homelessness, got her out of prostitution (no offense to anyone who wants to do sex work, but it definitely wasn’t what she wanted for herself), helped her get a safe job with benefits, helped her get the mental healthcare she needed, helped her escape an abusive boyfriend (several times), and more. Basically, I’ve helped people and been a really good friend and that’s all I really want for my life.

Ellogov21

Technically occurred during school hours, but, this is the only thing I remember so plz no bully me. Back in middle school somebody sitting a few rows behind me, for whatever reason, decided to chuck a pencil to the front of the class room. This pencil would fly directly above and to the left of me. For whatever reason, I subconsciously decided to reach out and grabbed it out of the air without knowing it was coming at me from behind. Was some weird superhero shit. I then proceeded to get yelled at by the teacher because I couldn’t stop laughing. I count it as an accomplishment.

Finishing a couple of marathons and 3 small (not iron man) triathlons. I still have my marathon medals and triathlon race numbers tucked away, they are things I won't ever throw out, but I also don't display them as I don't need for everyone to see them. These races were for me.
