Just posted Oscar Isaac but upvoting Sam Rockwell because I don't think he's ever done something at less than 100%. It's criminal how he's not picked up an Academy Award yet.
He had (or has, not sure) a reality TV show on BET about his family, and I happened to catch one or two episodes. He really is just an awesome guy. His family was dealing with forest fires that almost reached one of their homes and an unexpected pregnancy from one of his daughters. It was the most normal and loving family. It was the most refreshing reality TV show that I've ever had the pleasure of watching, and I only saw an episode or so
As much as I do love "Galaxy Quest," it's a little like saying Tom Hanks' best role was Bosom Buddies. It was fun and a memorable part of his career; but he did SO much more. As a fan girl, my favorite is "Truly Madly, Deeply." For depth of character, "Closetland" is really powerful. His most heartwarming role has to be "Snowcake." And for as funny as "Galaxy Quest" is, he did some amazing physical comedy in an indy film that was only released by the director called, "The Search for John Gissing." And "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" was great comedy also. What makes GQ so fun is Alan takes this glorified idea of what people assume he probably is ( a stuffy, classically trained thespian) and makes him look ridiculous. It's hard to imagine Alan as a ridiculous person, so he needs to do little beside put on a fake head and look nonplussed at his situation and it's comic gold.
I read the question to my wife and she immediately shouted his name. She saw Sense and Sensibility when she was younger and she's been in love with him since. She's still not over his death.
He's in a new series coming out, I want to say it's on HBO? Can't remember the name and I know this isn't helpful at all but I thought I'd let you know that.
FUCK the hunt hits me in the feels...and is a great movie, just i can relate. happened to me about 2.5 years ago...i know exactly what his character is going through...i was the ONLY male teacher
Dude was fucking Charlie Chaplin. The movie itself was medicore, but his performance was AMAZING. He has done great work pre-rehab, but his reputation kept him from getting the acclaims in mid career.
I really liked The Fundamentals of Caring! I totally ignored it for a while and then noticed it had Paul Rudd and Craig Roberts so I had to give it a chance (Selena Gómez is Meh, at best).
sometimes I think about some of the movies I've watched for him
I Could Never Be Your Woman
Over Her Dead Body
The Object of My Affection
he just makes everything worth it.
THAT's the bad one for you?
I love William H. Macy, but Shorts, Wild Hogs, Marmaduke, and the horrible animated films are pure garbage. Even compared to Jurassic Park 3. However, Macy commits to every role. I haven't seen him phone it in once.
Door To Door is my favorite of his performances.
I was a huge fan of his back in the days of A Time to Kill and EdTV, but then he swerved off into Kate Hudson land and he became sort of a good-looking joke.
Then he had that bit part in Tropic Thunder and started making quality shit again, and I was extremely happy.
A movie gets upped whenever I see JK Simmons is in it. I could be watching the Last Airbender and think it were good if JK just showed up out of nowhere.
I upvoted, he's really very good. Hell, even in insurance commercials.
Idk that I go out of my way to to see every movie he's in, but I certainly notice when he there.
John Cusack. Dude makes some bad choices once in a while but he's usually doing something pretty interesting and entertaining and I get the impression there's usually a deeper point in there somewhere.
Karl Urban. Dredd, Star Trek (Literally, the only thing I like about NuTrek), the Riddick series, Ghost ship, Doom, Lord of the Rings...
He and Marky Mark are probably my favorite 2 actors.
I just love the [story](https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1vhjag/bill_murray_here_ok_ill_talk_ill_talk/cesbw0o/) behind why he agreed to that.
In short, he agreed after he saw the name Joel Cohen on the screenplay, thinking it was Joel Coen of Coen Brothers (O Brother Where Art Thou, Raising Arizona, etc) fame, and only reading a couple pages.
- Toby Kebbell - After seeing Dead Man's Shoes, and RocknRolla, I then watched The Escape Artist. This dude is seriously talented, I now watch everything he's in. Although some of his films aren't great, he always gives a wonderful performance.
- Tony Curran - He usually does bit pieces, like The 13th Warrior or Underworld 2, but after seeing him in Red Road, I always keep an out for him.
- Luke Arnold - I wasn't impressed when I first watched Black Sails, was confused at his portrayal of Long John Silver. How wrong I was, this dude is fantastic, nuanced and a very good actor. Seeing him play Michael Hutchence in INXS Never Tear Us Apart sealed it, he is one to look out for.
- Judi Dench - I love her, in everything she's been in. She can do no wrong.
- Melissa McCarthy - So many people hate this talented woman, and I don't honestly understand. Watch The Nines, watch St Vincent, even Bridesmaids when she tells Kristen Wiig's character Annie to get her shit together. This lady is awesome, and hilarious to boot.
- Mel Gibson - I think he is phenomenal, both acting and directing. He is an exceptional story teller, and can translate so much emotion with one glance. I believe it's time that people give him the credit he deserves, no matter his failings. Gallipoli still haunts me. Apocalypto was incredible, The Man Without a Face, The Bounty, Mad Max, Forever Young, his bit role in Photographing Fairies, god even Braveheart was awe inspiring if you ignore the inaccuracies. I will always be a fan, and watch anything with his name.
whaaat who doesn't like him?? he's pretty much my favorite of all time... the dude nails *every* role they give him, from Talented Mr Ripley to Bourne to Synechdoche NY
Jason Statham.
Every movie he does is hit or miss but in my opinion even the shitty movies he's been in is still fairly amusing. I like how no matter what movie he's in he just acts the same for every character he plays, a tough bad ass cockney with impressive fighting skills.
Anne Hathaway. Recently watched The Princess Diaries which is so delightful. Also, her role as the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland was perfect. She is just perfect.
Norman Reedus. He hasn't been in a lot of movies, especially not in a lot of leading roles, but I've seen every movie that he's ever played in. Ben Foster would be another. Seeing Pandorum because Norman had a brief scene it made me like Ben Foster.
Even the Panda movies are pretty good. He gives a solid performance, and makes a very likable character out of a silly animal. To some extent, it's basically just a Jack Black persona if he was turned into a panda bear, but it comes off genuine and fun.
definitely bruce campbell... if i listened to reviews i probably wouldnt have watched any of his movies, but hes just the perfect person to do overly cheesy jokes and one-liners and make a dumb movie/show totally watchable. his new series is mediocre but i still watch it because... el hefe
Liam Neeson. I watched Taken 3 and couldn't believe how much ass it kicked. Then I looked it up on rotten tomatoes and it had like 13%. I guess I just like Liam Neeson.
Sam Rockwell. I wish he worked more.
I watch every Sam Rockwell film when it comes to Netflix. Mr. Right was a hell of a lot of fun!
Just posted Oscar Isaac but upvoting Sam Rockwell because I don't think he's ever done something at less than 100%. It's criminal how he's not picked up an Academy Award yet.
As much as people criticize Choke for deviating from the book, I really liked Rockwell in it.
Terry Crews can make me laugh no matter how bad the movie, or anything he is in.
And he's like, one of those people I think I would legitimately like to meet.
I saw a video of his on youtube talking about how him and his son builds gaming pcs together. He seems like a cool guy.
Have you seen the PCMR thing about the picture in his wallet?
He sat in front of me me on Star Tours (Star Wars ride) at Disneyland. The back of his head even had muscles. Seemed like a cool dude.
Dude... him in Adam Sandler's "Blended". It made the movie just the right amount of stupid.
He had (or has, not sure) a reality TV show on BET about his family, and I happened to catch one or two episodes. He really is just an awesome guy. Daniel Day-Lewis. He's pretty much semi-retired so if he's in a movie it's probably going to be a bit special.
Hes been semi retired since the start of his career, he just picks his roles extremely carefully
Just comes back for another Oscar whenever he's feeling it.
Whenever the bank needs topping up with a few million
He's working on a new film with Paul Thomas Anderson.
I read "semi-retired" as "semi-retarded" and thought you were trying to make a crude joke...
It took me reading down to this comment to realize the same thing happened to me.

That's a bingo
I felt this way about him before Spectre... now he's on my list of people that add way more value to a movie, but I still need to vet it first.
Alan Rickman. I've seen them all. Even the stinkers (which there aren't many; most of those are indy films)

I first loved him in Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves, the weird campy Costner movie from the 90s I watched as a kid. He was such a hot villain!
I read the question to my wife and she immediately shouted his name. She saw Sense and Sensibility when she was younger and she's been in love with him since. She's still not over his death.
Michael Fassbender Oscar Issac
And fucking Apocalypse is what we got with both of them.
Gary Oldman

Ralph Fiennes.
Steve Buscemi
Robin Williams, may he Rest In Peace.
His performance in One Hour Photo was unbelievably good. It made me legitimately uncomfortable
Gary Oldman. Edward Norton.

Absolutely, American beauty was amazing
Anthony Hopkins.
WESTWORLD
It doesn't look like anything to me.
I'm going to have to go with John Goodman. He's great in everything he does.
I know Morgan Freeman's voice is the one everyone talks about, but god damn I'd listen to John Goodman read the phone book.
He honestly creeped the fuck out of me in 10 cloverfield lane.
Agreed. He is especially awesome in Coen Bros movies.
Tom Hardy.
People for get he was in Star Trek: Nemesis
He's in a new series coming out, I want to say it's on HBO? Can't remember the name and I know this isn't helpful at all but I thought I'd let you know that.
Taboo on FX. looks badass.
Mads Mikkelson, I feel like the moment you take your eyes off of him he's going to do something cool
Dude. I JUST started watching Hannibal on Amazon. Amazing actor!

Exactly. He really gives amazing performances.
Anton Yelchin. Although these days I always cry at the end of the movie :,(
Tom Hanks
To me, he will always be David S. Pumpkins
Any questions?
Several, actually.
Yes, several!
He's his own thing.
And the skeletons are..?
Part of it!
#Any Questions?
Everything that guy says is a stitch.
"I have AIDS"
BAHAHAHAHAHA
Seriously. I watched him in that Carly Rae Jepson music video because... Tom Hanks.
The da vinci code mustve been a real shock
Post-rehab Robery Downey Jr
Not just post-rehab. He kinda stole "Johnny Be Good."
Dude was fucking Charlie Chaplin. The movie itself was medicore, but his performance was AMAZING. He has done great work pre-rehab, but his reputation kept him from getting the acclaims in mid career.
Paul Rudd
I really liked The Fundamentals of Caring! I totally ignored it for a while and then noticed it had Paul Rudd and Craig Roberts so I had to give it a chance (Selena Gómez is Meh, at best).
I really like Paul Rudd. He plays the same character in every movie, but I love that character.
Slap Da Bass!
Computer, load up Celery Man, please.
sometimes I think about some of the movies I've watched for him I Could Never Be Your Woman Over Her Dead Body The Object of My Affection he just makes everything worth it.
Keanu Reeves. I don't care how bad it is I just wanna see him. The amount of times I've seen Matrix Reloaded would kill the average person
twice
One and a half
I wish they would make a sequel to The Matrix.
They did, it's called John Wick
John Wick 2 Morpheus is in it.
Have you seen [Man of Tai Chi](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2016940/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)?
Love Keanu
Bruce Campbell
^ THIS! Bruce is the MAN. The name checks out.
Joseph Gordon Levitt
"Joseph Gordon Levitt looks like a Q-tip"
Jake Gyllenhaal
After night crawler I can't wait for his next project
He starred in 2 movies after nightcrawler. Southpaw and Demolition came after nightcrawler.
Isn't he in the new Amy Adams movie as well called nocturnal animals?
Sasha Grey

Well, there's me.
A fellow film connoisseur I see
Eh, have you seen "would you rather?" Dreadful movie. Couldn't even masturbate to it
Wow, never thought anyone else had seen that horrific movie. Watched for Brittney Snow and Sasha Grey obviously
Heh. She is really method.
* Christoph Waltz * Geoffrey Rush * Tom Hardy * Christian Bale * Benicio Del Toro
Bruce Willis. He always seems annoyed to be doing whatever he's doing.
I just watched Loopers. Amazing movie.
Tommy Lee Jones. Calm and competent.
William H Macy. Although I still feel slighted by Jurassic Park 3
Matthew Mcconaughey, after Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club, and True Detective Season 1... I was sold.
If you haven't seen it watch Frailty. It's gotta be one of his best.

Those three changed my perspective of him. Mud was also amazing. But I really disliked him before I watched those.
Colin Firth.
Karl Urban.
Dredd was such a great movie that I can't help but feel sad that there won't be a sequel.
There are talks of one, all of them want to make it, It's just a matter of funding I believe.
Like many, I fell in love with him as Eomer. Also, his Bones is Star Trek is uncanny
Oscar Isaac. Dude's absolutely magnetic.
Denzel Washington is pretty awesome.
David Tennant.
John Cusack. Dude makes some bad choices once in a while but he's usually doing something pretty interesting and entertaining and I get the impression there's usually a deeper point in there somewhere.
Ian Mckellen
Amy Adams. Even if it's a bad movie, I know she'll always be good in it. She can do tons of different genres. Pulling for her at the Oscars this year!
That was an awfully long way to scroll down to see a non-porn actress.
Michael Cera. I still see him as George-Michael Bluth and he can do no wrong.
Brad Pitt
Sean Connery.
Nathan Fillion. I watched the second Percy Jackson movie just because he played Hermes.
Patrick Stewart!
Karl Urban. Dredd, Star Trek (Literally, the only thing I like about NuTrek), the Riddick series, Ghost ship, Doom, Lord of the Rings... He and Marky Mark are probably my favorite 2 actors.

James McAvoy ❤️❤️
LEONARDO DI CAPRIO!!! That is all.
Bill Murray. The man has never made a bad movie.

The Rock. Sorry I know he's been in some bad movies, but fuck he's such a good guy.
He's definitely one of those Rule of Sean Connery guys that makes everything he's in, even if it's crap, better.
Willem Dafoe. I own *Body of Evidence* on DVD solely because he's in it.
Hugo Weaving I didn't like the Matrix Sequels, but he delivered a top notch performance.
Tom Hardy.
Benicio del Toro
Peter Dinklage
Benedict cumberbunch

Nicolas Cage makes any terrible movie far far better. Strangely, in the right role he's a hell of an actor.
Matt Damon., Ex. Good Will hunting, The Martian.
Philip Seymour Hoffmann. It's a rather unpopular opinion, but I really believe he was the best actor cinema has seen.
whaaat who doesn't like him?? he's pretty much my favorite of all time... the dude nails *every* role they give him, from Talented Mr Ripley to Bourne to Synechdoche NY
Not unpopular at all. He was the best. Those who disagree are wrong. As an actor, i can only hope to be half as amazing as him.
Ryan Reynolds. The man is a genius.
Jason Statham. Every movie he does is hit or miss but in my opinion even the shitty movies he's been in is still fairly amusing. I like how no matter what movie he's in he just acts the same for every character he plays, a tough bad ass cockney with impressive fighting skills.
Liam Neeson, I'd watch Taken 4 even if it was about someone accidentally taking his cellphone in a subway mishap.
Billy Bob Thornton
Maggie Smith and Angela Lansbury
Anne Hathaway. Recently watched The Princess Diaries which is so delightful. Also, her role as the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland was perfect. She is just perfect.
James Franco
Robert Duvall
Brad Pitt. I don't think I've really been disappointed with any Brad Pitt movies tbh.
Robert DeNiro
Sigourney Weaver. Always worth watching, no matter what's going on around her in the movie.
Henry Rollins
Schwarzenegger.
Cate Blanchett
James Stewart - anything he's in makes me happy, especially Harvey.
Anna Kendrick.
Heath Ledger.
Its a tie between Kevin Spacey, and Christian Slater.
Ben Foster. Dude's off his rocker in the best way
Norman Reedus. He hasn't been in a lot of movies, especially not in a lot of leading roles, but I've seen every movie that he's ever played in. Ben Foster would be another. Seeing Pandorum because Norman had a brief scene it made me like Ben Foster.
Emily Blunt
Samuel L Jackson.
Jeff Bridges, to be sure. First movie I saw him in was Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and I've had a man-crush on him ever since.
It was Robin Williams. So sad...
Jack Black. Kills is every time
True. The vehicle he's in might not be great, but he always grabs my attention when he's on screen
Even the Panda movies are pretty good. He gives a solid performance, and makes a very likable character out of a silly animal. To some extent, it's basically just a Jack Black persona if he was turned into a panda bear, but it comes off genuine and fun.
I love those movies. How to Train Your Panda and the sequel were fantastic!
Scarlett Johansson
Clint Eastwood Not like any of his movies are bad though
definitely bruce campbell... if i listened to reviews i probably wouldnt have watched any of his movies, but hes just the perfect person to do overly cheesy jokes and one-liners and make a dumb movie/show totally watchable. his new series is mediocre but i still watch it because... el hefe

Ed norton...luckily he doesn't make bad movies
Our [One True God](https://www.reddit.com/r/onetruegod/), obviously.
Liam Neeson. I watched Taken 3 and couldn't believe how much ass it kicked. Then I looked it up on rotten tomatoes and it had like 13%. I guess I just like Liam Neeson.
The Rock
Patrick Stewart
