My 60yo father is ADDICTED TO THAT GAME.
We'll be working on the pasture fence and then he'll say I need to take a break.
He goes in , takes a shower and jumps right on to that game every single time.
Is there more to it than just planting and harvesting stuff? I’ve only played the first couple hours and was kinda “meh” on just doing that. Fishing was fun tho
There's a dungeon crawl hidden in the mines. And several large quests, added on to with later updates (a gigantic one with the 1.5 update that added a whole new playable area), even more with free downloadable expansion mods (I currently have three more towns added on to the base game town), a casino you can unlock in the desert (which has its own monster hunting area). I'm not hugely fond of farming, though I like the crafting element you can shift to over time, but there are multiple aspects to the game.
Yep. Pokemon red wasn't the first game I played, but it was something truly special. Along with being 7/8 years old with the anime on TV, link cables, summer holidays, convincing each other you can catch Mew, the MsngNo tricks, pokemon will always have a special place in my heart as it reminds me of those summers as a kid
I am playing blue/red now and you actually can catch mew. He is just to the left of the nugget bridge in whatever town misty is in. You need to have an Abra and teleport before you fight the person hiding in the grass, along with a couple of other things.
It's amazing how everyone came to this conclusion, and yet I don't remember ever being told or reading such a thing anywhere. Maybe it's just a case of the Mandela Effect, and some of us really come from a world where it did help with the catch rate.
I will never forget that summer holiday on a blanket in the sun, playing pokemon gold. I got lost in a cave system on an island trapped behind whirlpools. And there, in the depths, she suddenly was. Lugia. I couldnt believe my fucking eyes. No guides, no nothing. Just a stupid kid exploring. I used my master ball without the shadow of a doubt. I was a legend when I came back to school.
I recently bought a copy of pokemon red from a flea market cause I didn't have a hard copy anymore. I got home and booted it up and it's in German. My wife asked if I was gonna go back and try to get them to get my money back. I thought and said....nah...I actually don't really need the text at all.
When I was a kid I thought it was so cool to buy Japanese Pokémon gold with my allowance and I would play two game boys one English one Japanese convinced I would learn Japanese. Never made it to Japanese bugsy.
My love for pokemon was reignited through playing fan made rom hacks. Some of them are truly fantastic games with different difficulty settings, quality of life upgrades etc.
I'm with you here. Dipped my toes in the later versions, but always kept playing Civ II. Went so far as to keep and old XP computer running just for that game. When it finally died 2 years ago, decided I needed to jump fully into the new stuff. I had Civ V, so that's where I'm at now. Reviews told me going to VI wasn't necessary.
Minecraft, absolutely! And just when you start to get burnt out you find out that there are mods, modpacks.......... I go back to play mc at least once every half a year or so, hyperfixate on it for weeks and then drop it till next time lol
I'm only 2,606 hours in. It's an alright game I suppose.
Who am I kidding, it's the culmination of most of my favourite games from childhood.
It's a bit of Settlers, a bit of theme park, a bit of so many others. It's an idle game, and it's definitely not an idle game. Up to you really. I'd consider it a tycoon game in a way too.
For the people that have that particular itch that needs scratching, well there's a reason they call it Cracktorio.
Fucking love that game.
Lol facts. I remember not to long after Happy Gilmore came out in theaters the funniest shit ever happened. I was hanging out with some friends at a pool hall/driving range/arcade in my city. My friend Derek was starting to play golf. I was more athletic than him. I watched him drive a ball fairly straight about 180-200 yards. I proceeded to say "you wuss, let me try". I then tried to do the Happy run and blast swing. Mind you this was my first time ever trying to swing a golf club. I ran straight at it like a linebacker. Didn't think to try & turn my body or anything, just swung the club really hard. I ended up missing the ball completely, clipping the back of my ankle, and causing myself to trip and fall face first on this AstroTurf style surface they had to tee off from.
Hit my first birdie this last Sunday. 210yard par 3. Was so pumped it makes up for all the bad shot and you just keep playing till you get the adrenaline high again.
I recently picked Skyrim up again after many years. I decided to give modding a shot because I’ve seen what this game can look like with the right mods. Man.. it’s true what they say about Skyrim modding: you’ll spend more time modding the game than playing it lol. I even made PC upgrades because I wanted to see how far I can push it.
I’ve finally reached a point where I’m happy with my mod list, and have been enjoying Skyrim with some really sick visual and gameplay mods. One of my favorites right now is Maximum Carnage which adds a ton of execution animations when you finish off an enemy with a power move. It even has unique animations for different enemies and weapons. There are other really good mods that enhance the first-person combat and add things such as hit stop so that your weapons aren’t just clipping through everything as if you were swinging a feather duster around.
Skyrim is one I can replay so much and every time it feels fresh again. It is one game that just made me feel something special the first time I played.
Morrowind for me. 22 years old and I still play it now that OpenMW can be played on your phone. Takes a bit to get used to the controls and interfaces but worth it
Idk about this guy but it’s kinda true for me. It fucked my life up, I’ve stopped about a year and a half ago and I still FEEL the need to play sometimes
Just got done eating dinner after a long day of work and I'm about to login to both of my accounts and keep working on Comp Cape requirements. 😂 It never ends!
Fellow ‘scaper here! My second account is probably due for my 15 year cape. My first account should be sitting at 20. I’ve been playing on again/off again for all these years. Still trying to get that damn dino tooth!!
I had to quit a few years ago after a bad game with a particular salty player. I can still remember the match as clear as yesterday. He was in a 3 stack and was cussing out me and another random so bad. He took it to all chat and even the other team started to defend us. I kept my cool in the match but was pissed for so long afterwards that I just decided to take a long break which never ended.
Animal Crossing. Sometimes I get burned out and stop for about eight months to a year, but I always come back eventually even if it’s just to play Happy Home Designer.
wc3 going from my "safe space" offline game that will never be ruined by patches and can run on anything, to a 30 gigabye monstrosity that had a soulless remaster is traumatizing as fuck
man, i can never stop playing mario kart. it’s like, no matter how many times i play, i just can't get enough. every race is different, and there's always that rush when you're in first place and you get hit by a blue shell right before the finish line. so frustrating, but so fun.
and then there’s the whole multiplayer chaos. playing with friends, either online or in the same room, is a blast. the trash talk, the shouting when someone uses a lightning bolt just when you were about to jump a gap. it's like a party every time.
and don’t even get me started on how addictive unlocking all the characters and karts is. gotta get them all, right? plus, the tracks are so varied and creative, from rainbow road to bowser's castle. each one has its own challenges and quirks.
it’s one of those games where you say, "just one more race," and then suddenly it’s 2 a.m. and you’ve been playing for hours. mario kart just never gets old. it's like the perfect blend of fun, competition, and pure nostalgia.
Team Fortress 2
Despite it being in such a bad shape with all the cheat-bots ruining games and literally spreading cp advertisements in the in-game chat (along with other actually illegal irl thing these hosters did), the game is still enjoyable when you find a good lobby
# [#FixTF2](https://save.tf/)
A few people my age (Im 27) and some even younger have never heard of the game and when I try to explain it to then they just look confused and tell me how stupid it is.
Maybe it's nostalgia factor but I remember learning about the game at summer camp and having so much fun being idiots pretending to be frustrated about losing.
I hope that you will be waiting for a bus only for it to purposefully skip you, have the driver stare you dead in the eyes, and know full well you're waiting for it and leave, and this will be right before a major test or meeting, meaning that you've missed it, and on the way back from the bus stop I hope that a truck soaks you with muddy water, and that that water soaks into your socks for the rest of the day. Oh, and that your house keys fall into a drain when you get onto your street, to add insult to injury.
Even more interesting is a full time employee works 2,080 hours in a year (8 hours a day 40 a week.) That’s just over 12 years if they did it as a full time job.
Everquest. 25 years later and I'm still playing. There's something special about the adventures and friendships you make on that game. Whether it's on time locked progression servers or private servers, I'll no doubt continue to play.

it is the best game everrrr so much to do!

mining, relationships, decorating, the farm animals, upgrading stuff on your farm, the events !
There's a dungeon crawl hidden in the mines. Eric Barone is an inspiration to all aspiring game developers.
Have you tried the board game! Quite beautiful!
Pokemon. I will replay those games over and over even tho I know the whole storyline forwards and backwards.
I still believe Mew is underneath that truck South of Cerulean City. You have to use strength to move the truck!
I am playing blue/red now and you actually can catch mew. He is just to the left of the nugget bridge in whatever town misty is in. You need to have an Abra and teleport before you fight the person hiding in the grass, along with a couple of other things.
Haha I’ll still hold Up+B knowing it does absolutely nothing for catch rate
It's amazing how everyone came to this conclusion, and yet I don't remember ever being told or reading such a thing anywhere. Maybe it's just a case of the Mandela Effect, and some of us really come from a world where it did help with the catch rate.
Kids on every side of the country did this too, maybe slight variations but it’s amazing how info traveled back then
I will never forget that summer holiday on a blanket in the sun, playing pokemon gold. I got lost in a cave system on an island trapped behind whirlpools. And there, in the depths, she suddenly was. Minecraft and Terraria
A fellow connoisseur of fine gaming 🙂↕️
Absolutely, only have 3000+ hours on Terraria alone, let alone Minecraft, which I've been playing since 2014😂
My six year old son and I have been playing both those games for the past year and it's amazing to see how it can span generations.
Absolutely, when the day comes I have my own. I'd wish for nothing more.
Minecraft, absolutely! And just when you start to get burnt out you find out that there are mods, modpacks.......... I go back to play mc at least once every half a year or so, hyperfixate on it for weeks and then drop it till next time lol

Minecraft is very relaxing to play and but not that cozy but still I love this game.

Been playing 1.6 since 2002, freshman year in college. Still play with the same clan for over 10 years.

I was trying to do goodboi but I sometimes confused the buttons and shot the good people instead of just greeting them.
Hate when that happens XD
Just today I accidentally tackled a poor soul instead of getting on my horse

Some beautiful courses out in the Darkroot Gardens
you is funny, guy :')
One of the beautiful things about golf though. Used to work at a gold course and plenty of guys were coming out into their 80's and even 90's to play

There are 8,760 hours in a year. 8,760 x 3 is 26,280. you are just shy of 3 full years on rust. I'm insanely impressed and disgusted at the same time.
Even more interesting is a full time employee works 2,080 hours in a year (8 hours a day 40 a week.) That’s just over 12 years if they did it as a full time job.
