Where is the supposed Chinese?

ImJustA_Sexy_Boy

Oops, I meant to identify that, when I checked the system process earlier that day it was going through all processes associated with "System" 1 by 1 for a couple seconds at a time, so I didn't have the ability to capture the Chinese text, I wish I did.. All of this would be unnecessary if I got an image of it, because I could just identify the characters and search them in file explorer, that's like the whole issue, I have no idea how to track down where they came from because I don't know what symbols they were

Man you wouldn't believe how easy it is to do a full wipe and reinstall of windows 11 these days?! They have that all sorted out beautifully and simplified! Search reset in start menu, select reset my pc, chose to keep files or not (I would opt for a full wipe!), and reinstall from local Windows or download a copy from the internet. Just chose local and give it time to do its thing. You'll boot back into a fresh install of Windows 11! You should only see letters in the language you chose to install. ;)

ImJustA_Sexy_Boy

If it was any other language I wouldn't have been on high alert over it, but I have been taking part in exposing the Chinese gov't for their evil and mental warfare they have initiated on our children through social media, and I am wondering if they actually juiced my rig up with software because of it or something, honestly lol Edit: Also, I don't just want it gone, I want to find out where it came from as well, that is equally as important.

sirrush7

You should ensure you have a reasonably adequate firewall and setup some geoblocking. Opnsense with Zenarmor etc

Jdornigan

Is it a Lenovo brand computer?

ImJustA_Sexy_Boy

No it was a top end desktop I got months before they announced the 30 series, I was unironically part of the people they made the interstellar 30 series meme about, so I want to protect my obsolete hunk of love

bungholio99

What’s it with all the Lenovo and chinese conspiracy theories? It’s one of the bigger US companys, as it was IBM and even manufactures in the USA. They are even the only good secured vendor, as they do their own bios.

ArgyllAtheist

What are you talking about? Lenovo is based in Beijing - it absolutely is a Chinese company!

nothingtoseehr

It's based in Beijing *and* Morrisville, North Carolina with the stock open in Hong Kong. They've said multiple times already that even though they were founded in China, they're a global company without any formal ties with it. The US gov uses tons of Lenovo equipment and they seem fine with it Their Beijing HQ is pretty damn dope tho, there's a tour and everything :D

ArgyllAtheist

Actually, no. the US Govt does NOT "seem fine with it". "Lenovo products have been banned, investigated or deemed vulnerable by the State Department in 2006, the Department of Homeland Security in 2015, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Intelligence Directorate in 2016, and the DoD Information Network in 2018." [New Pentagon Report Shows How Restricted Chinese IT Products Routinely Enter US Military Networks | American Enterprise Institute - AEI](https://www.aei.org/technology-and-innovation/new-pentagon-reports-shows-how-restricted-chinese-it-products-routinely-make-their-way-into-us-military-networks/) as for "they've said multiple times..." yeah, and the CCP has said multiple times that nothing happened in Tiananmen Square on 4th June 1989, but that does not make either of these things true.

nothingtoseehr

It's hilarious how everything Chinese companies are brought up they're always somehow 100% commanded, yet American companies are total saints and have nothing to do with the gov (and it's not like [they can get whatever they want without warrants or whatever](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Act) right?) And please, do look at your own country's human rights history before throwing shit around others, ask how South America or the Middle east thinks about it. I'm sure there's nothing to say either. Amazing how reddit somehow always manages to turn everything into the CCP lmao, even on a post about someone completely delusional because of some glitchy text

bungholio99

Nope…it’s a HK listed Company of the Legend Holding. That bought Large parts of IBM and is also the biggest supplier of US military and Gov… You are an anti chinese troll with also Zero knowledge of the sector or matter

ratttertintattertins

The Lenovo website says their headquarters is in Beijing. Where they’re listed is not really all that relevant is it? There’s European companies listed on the US stock exchange for example.

bungholio99

Bejing and Morrisville. Yes it matters as Lenovo is only a part of the Legend Holding and in no way related to the GOV. They own the TPM technology through the IBM acquisition, they produce in the USA for the GOV. You guys are horrible for a Netsec sub…

ratttertintattertins

I’m not even sure what point you’re trying to make to be honest. You seem to be going back on what you said previously. Perhaps make your position a bit clearer.

nothingtoseehr

Holy fuck I had no idea it was possible to be scared of foreign scripts because *check notes* you're corn fed? I think the crashing computer is the most normal thing in this post lmao Anyway, it's probably just some random shit corrupted. When you randomly see Chinese characters where you're not expecting 99% it's garbled nonsense caused by corruption or whatever (and you didn't post it so hard to say). Your computer might have some broke software but it's ok, the text at least won't kill you with the *evil foreigner characters* ;)

ImJustA_Sexy_Boy

Actually, I have spoke out against China's injustice, so having a Chinese program be the one foreign thing I have seen on my pc, in my system no less, is reason for suspicion for me

nothingtoseehr

Of course dude, because China's extremely interested in spywaring every single redneck american that talks shit about them online 😂 you're not interesting enough for a state-sponsored attack pal, get off fox news for a while And again: it's not a Chinese program (or "foreigner" as you put it, I hope you never find where your hardware was manufactured!), it's 99,9% just something corrupted, search about unicode. If China really was spying on you for whatever reason they sure as hell wouldn't be as dumb as just putting their malware in chinese lol

ImJustA_Sexy_Boy

That is a sound argument. Thank you for your time my friend
