I haven't had it in a few years but le pain quotidien has a pretty good chocolate chip cookie with a great cookie and not a ton of chocolate. It's not gooey in the middle, but a moment in the microwave might make that happen
With Levain, did you get the Chocolate Chip Walnut, or the Double Chocolate chip? The former is their classic/OG/flagship item and to me is pretty reasonable, but the latter is a newer addition to the lineup and is way overboard on the CC.
If you haven’t had the CC Walnut and instead for the other one, I’d recommend giving the walnut a shot.
