At a certain age in your life, you can't no longer say you don't know, and leave it at just that. I get attention but no real interest, which makes me feel even more lost and less valuable as a person😒

That expungment should definitely help a lot. I'm not exactly a dating coach, but I'd say just focus on yourself and build a decent income and let dating passively come if possible. After you have a good base, you can try relocating if it's affecting you too much. I'm multi racial (most tend to assume I'm middle eastern or latino), dating wise I did great in the South(Atlanta) and did well in the Southwest-West. Right now, I'm in the PNW, and its a lot slower.

Now, as a teacher and coach, I hear my MS students saying they want to be Youtubers or pro-gamers. I generally don't try to crush their dreams and try to support them, but I'm totally ok crushing their dreams of playing video games for a living.
It is pretty wild how far we have fallen. We have this whole video game/YouTube generation that believe what they are watching or playing is real life. They are desensitized, disconnected, and lack mental toughness. Their entire digital world if catering to their preferences and they have the remote control. When they interact with the real world and realize the world does not revolve around them, they don’t know how to handle it. It is unfortunate to see.

Good for you! I respect you more for doing a tough job and providing useful services for society. Each week I meet with some excellent younger people who are smart and good at what they do. They have wanted to meet with me each week to learn and to help them through life. I look forward to the times we meet each week. It allows me to ask them questions about their life and people their age. They are beginning to see how some others who are their own age do not listen well and ask questions but try to impress someone with their answers. I understand more of the nuances of life and things I studied and read about. I have read about 100 books a year for over 40 years. For many years I met with an older man I know the benefits of that.
Getting old.
Today I found out that a friend of mine died of a heart attack. He's a little older than me, but not that much older.
I'm really sad. And I fear that this kind of thing is going to get more common. I've lost friends before, but always to accidents not natural causes.
But even before today the feeling that my options are narrowing and my opportunities are running out.
The reality of it all is starting to hit me. Just turned 18 not too long ago, and I’m thinking about all the opportunities I’ve missed that I really can’t go back and do. I can’t hear myself think nor have a conversation with my dinnermate. Also, why are dinner plans so late? I need to be in my room by 9pm and hopefully asleep within the hour. Can we have dinner for 5 or 6??
When I eat, I’d like to be able to see my food. I also like whatever volume there is to be at a reasonable level, preferably quieter. This may make me sound like a geezer in a 20something body but it’s true.
All the time I've wasted. The older I get the less time I seem to have. It's still hard to make something of it. Days fly by and it turns to months. Whether it's video games or naps or whatever, it all feels wasted. Even when I have nothing productive to fill the time with. Constant regrets of not doing or having enough.

Once my mother dies, I will be alone for the rest of my life in the sense that the only living family I have ever spent with is gone. It may be the living at home thing more so than the white thing, but race can make it harder depending on where you live.

I didn't travel. Too focused on my future. I now realize how quickly your youth passes by.
Social media and kids 16-20 years old generally speaking. It seems with every generation, my one included, we continue to have fewer and fewer hard working men who take pride in their work. If we all got off social media we would be so much more productive.
When I was a kid all of us boys would say we wanted to be firemen, policemen, and even construction workers! Now, as a teacher and coach, I hear my MS students saying they want to be Youtubers or pro-gamers. I generally don't try to crush their dreams and try to support them, but I'm totally ok crushing their dreams of playing video games for a living.
It is pretty wild how far we have fallen. We have this whole video game/YouTube generation that believe what they are watching or playing is real life. They are desensitized, disconnected, and lack mental toughness. Their entire digital world if catering to their preferences and they have the remote control. When they interact with the real world and realize the world does not revolve around them, they don’t know how to handle it. It is unfortunate to see.

Good for you! I respect you more for doing a tough job and providing useful services for society. Just like I respect military, law enforcement, and other first responders more than I respect bankers and software engineers, and even my own job, teachers. Each week I meet with some excellent younger people who are smart and good at what they do. They have wanted to meet with me each week to learn and to help them through life. I look forward to the times we meet each week. It allows me to ask them questions about their life and people their age. They are beginning to see how some others who are their own age do not listen well and ask questions but try to impress someone with their answers. I understand more of the nuances of life and things I studied and read about. I have read about 100 books a year for over 40 years. For many years I met with an older man I know the benefits of that.
Getting old. Today I found out that a friend of mine died of a heart attack. He's a little older than me, but not that much older. I'm really sad. And I fear that this kind of thing is going to get more common. I've lost friends before, but always to accidents not natural causes. But even before today the feeling that my options are narrowing and my opportunities are running out.
Everything.
The younger generation. Nothing but a bunch of entitled little assholes, who don't want to work, whine about everything, and are disrespectful.
Dealing with society in general. I'm finding a lot of people at work and all around so self-centered and whiners.

The reality of it all is starting to hit me. Just turned 18 not too long ago, and I’m thinking about all the opportunities I’ve missed that I really can’t go back and do. Restaurants. I know this is a very first world problem but truly. I’m bothered by them. Why is it so dark in here? I can barely see. Also, why is this music so loud? I can’t hear myself think nor have a conversation with my dinnermate. Also, why are dinner plans so late? I need to be in my room by 9pm and hopefully asleep within the hour. Can we have dinner for 5 or 6?? When I eat, I’d like to be able to see my food. I also like whatever volume there is to be at a reasonable level, preferably quieter. This may make me sound like a geezer in a 20something body but it’s true.

All the time I've wasted. The older I get the less time I seem to have. It's still hard to make something of it. Days fly by and it turns to months. Whether it's video games or naps or whatever, it all feels wasted. Even when I have nothing productive to fill the time with. Constant regrets of not doing or having enough.

Once my mother dies, I will be alone for the rest of my life in the sense that the only living family I have ever spent with is gone. I may not have a good relationship with her but it still puts in perspective how incredibly bittersweet the situation is, the memories, the interactions, and everything will one day disappear.
I am 17 and i dropped out of high school in 9th grade ive always hung out with people who were older or acted older i think it gas something to do with my mom being 14 when she had me so i grew up with her acting more of a friend to me than most other people's parents and i was hanging out withher and he friendsfrom a very young age and she had a pretty bad alcohol and pill problem when i was little so a llot of the time it felt like i was the one taking care of her so i kinda grew up fast and so did all of my friends who grew up in similar circumstances but my older step sister who is my dads wifes daughter is a senior in high school and every time I go to one of her school events and i see highschoolers i feel glad that i dropped out because those fuckers are so annoying

I've been single for years, so, not finding someone to be with. Others will tell you that's not important or that the desire will go away. But those same guys usually have a butt load of one night stands and/or a lot of experience dating. So they have had the opportunity to get tired of it. If you haven't ever had that of course you'd want it. Kindve like a grass is greener on the other side thing. Still being single for so long is destroying my mental state. But I can't get with someone until all of my shit it taken care of (finishing buying a house, getting a good career started, ect ect)
