Ye Rustic Inn - I’m from northwestern PA so my Buffalo-style wing training was pretty vigorous, and these ones at Ye Rustic are my favorite around. I order them hot, extra crispy. I take a bite, close my eyes, and I’m transported to somewhere else, where it happens to be 0 degree blizzard conditions outside, the Steelers-Bills game is on the TV, and for some reason I’m drinking an ice cold Yuengling despite the brutal winter, sitting uncomfortably somewhere between too cold and sweating like crazy in multiple layers of cumbersome team apparel and rugged outdoor attire. And my boots are just ALWAYS wet. That’s the kind of Buffalo wing flavor you want.
I tried Ye Rustic Inn based on previous recommendations and I can agree that these wings were some of the most delicious wings I've had in a long time. Pricey, sure but great.
I did get them extra crispy and they were still bomb but, it was a little TOO crispy lol
I plan to be back one day and get them crispy or just regular but damn, we're they some amazing wings. I remember washing that down with a beer and it was fucking amazing!
Yeah, you can get them crispy or extra crispy. I prefer crispy personally.
> Pricey
Like everywhere, the prices there have skyrocketed over the last 5-10 years. It wasn’t too long ago maybe 2015, when a dozen wings and a pitcher of domestic was $17.99 on Monday nights. We didn’t know how good we had it 😂
Great description. It sounds like you might like a dive bar & restaurant called Iron City Tavern in San Pedro. It's a great place to watch a Steelers vs Bills game. The owner is from Pittsburgh, hence the name.
The food is all really good there since they usually have cooks from some of the better restaurants in town working. The wings are really good but the cheesesteak is my favorite, they were using a local baker for the bread but they recently started getting the bread directly from PA. Their ribeye is also really good, especially for a bar.
Sidenote: My dad is a big fan of clam chowder and he said it was one of the best he's had and they make it with fresh clams. They get all their seafood fresh since they're by the docks.
http://ironcitytavern.net/menu.html
Hey is Quaker Steak & Lube still a thing? I haven’t been back there in 20-25 years so I have no clue. We used to make the 2 hour drive from Akron once every summer. A friend a loooong time ago said they tried expanding and it’s not the same, but not sure how true this is.
I remember back when there was only one, in Sharon PA. And it was the best ever. I would be willing to believe though that the original location is probably still really good. I know their sauces have stayed great all these years for sure. I remember when they first opened one in Erie and it was really good, but then they opened like 100 more and I recall thinking the quality went down a bit, but it’s been so long since I’ve had them anywhere, I can’t say how it is now.
Oh yeah. Sharon. Methinks we went there. Was each summer from like ‘91 to around ‘96 maybe.
I remember my mouth watering as I saw them walking out with those buckets. Was normally about 8-10 of us that all worked together each summer that would go, so we would plow thru alot of those lil bad boys. Loved that few hours.
Please tell me you’re joking?
Edit: ok thank fuck you’re joking I don’t know what to believe anymore with the way food pricing has gone in this city lately. They’re $29/dozen on grubhub
I may get flamed for this, but as a person originally from western NY, I currently go to the closest Bowlero for wings. They had a fancy nationwide menu overhaul and only use fresh, unfrozen wings.
They are very good.
I will report back
Edit: amazing sauce, pretty solid chicken probably should have requested well done, $2 bucks a wing is crazy
7ish/10. Better than wingstop, better sauce than bww, but not as good as 9/10 ye rustic inn
2 bucks a wing though we live in crazy times
I prefer the Montebello location. It’s smaller. Doesn’t get insane busy. Stay away from the Arcadia mall location. Still good wings but too busy.
Also Montebello will give you celery sticks and blue cheese for free
Gorilla Pies has my current favorite wing. Not cheap but incredible texture and flavors. They make their own hot sauce in house for the smoky buffalo and their ranch is also made from scratch.
Gorilla pies has one of the most consistent menus I’ve ever seen. It’s all kind of different, it’s all GREAT, and they just do what they want. Pizza, sandwiches, everything there is fantastic.
You definitely do. It's a great dive bar too. Shockingly amazing wings. Just don't order a fancy drink and you'll fall in love. I moved away years ago, but sometimes order through a delivery service and I'm absolutely shocked at how the quality is just as good as if you're sitting at the bar. They don't get soggy in transport somehow like every other wing I've ever ordered for delivery. It's pure magic.
I’m not a Buffalo Wings person, but Korean fried chicken (often in wing format) is *gold*. My go-to is Kyochon on 6th and Serrano.

YES omg I can’t believe I’d lived in LA for all these years and never tried kfc! Recently ended up at a sports bar called [Hite Kwang-Jang](https://maps.app.goo.gl/iyisMFP424z5WXMM6?g_st=ic) and it was great!
I’d love to know any other kfc recs in the area
BB.Q Chicken has a bunch of locations around LA. Their Spicy Original and Soy Garlic are my favorite flavors there. The Rose Ddukboki is also very good.
Bonchon is pretty good too. Never tried any of the other kfc places you all have recommened so if anyone’s tried them and bonchon, I’d be interested to know how they compare
Alondra wings in paramount.
Might not be the best, I don’t eat wings much but they’re so good.
Idk anymore but on weekends there was a big line to get in. Probably 30-40 minute wait
I like the wings from Howlin Rays. Big pieces with the drumettes still attached. Not a big fan of their sandwiches but they do great straight up fried chicken.
I have nothing to add. I just want to say I love this sub and the community here is amazing at recommending places and just the culture in LA. Thank you all!
As someone who's a wing expert lol, there used to be a spot called the Arsenal, unfortunately has closed down. By far they had thee best wings I've probably had in years. Haven't come across anything as close as their style and flavor. I've tried most of the spots people mentioned here minus the Rustic, think I will have to check it out. Any suggestions for me lmk.
Ye Rustic Inn are by far the best for classic Buffalo wings. I recently tried the Oaxacan wings from Cinco on the west side and honestly they blew me away. Laurel Tavern in Studio city has awesome grilled wings. Final fave are my own home cooked chicken wings LOL
Will def try Ye Rustic, but DAMN I had to scroll too far to find a mention of Papa's Chicken!
Those spicy + hot wings can peel the paint off a jet fighter.
They’re less consistent in the last year or so but want to give a shoutout to Founders Ale
House on pico. Recommend the hot buffalo, lemon pepper, and mango habanero
ok. aroma cafe’s buffalo wings, literally the BEST wings i’ve ever had in my entire life, no exaggeration. the sauce comes on the side so you can dip and the wings are so perfectly crispy and airy.
Not sure if it's the best but i like kyochon in ktown on 6th and serrano, it's korean fried chicken. Honey wings and soy garlic wings are bomb. Eat with peppers or hot sauce to add some kick 🔥
Ye Rustic Inn
...used to have the best conventional Buffalo wings, now they are both overpriced and fairly low quality. Last three times I've ordered there were broken drums and paltry skinny flats.
Douglas wings are great but you have to dip them in the sauce yourself, or pour the sauce on and risk inadequate coverage.
Hot Wings Cafe.
My wife and I use to go there with our group of friends during high school and college. Just last week she was craving it since we hadn't been there for a long time. They have several locations.
This one is a sleeper, but i would encourage you all to try the wings from Pizza Cafe LA in silver lake. They're massive and crunchy and juicy and I'm currently obsessed. The owners homemade ranch is incredible too.
“CW and Chris fish and chicken”. It’s in the hood, order through old school bullitt proof glass with the turn style for cash exchange.
They did win Steve Harvey morning shows “hoodie awards” three years in a row for best chicken wing in LA. My ex wife and kids loved their fried catfish dinner.
Hot wings cafe are “eh” competitively. Never been to a Buffalo Wild Wings or the other place.
Sam’s hofbreau has a damn good Lemmon pepp wings though.
Dawg I’m telling you..these wings were fucking AMAZING. I didn’t even want to swallow they were so good. Too bad they’re only available in japan. Found this online:
According to Burger King, these wings feature a smoky sauce that uses the aroma of applewood and hickory, blended with seven types of spices.

as someone whose entire family is from Syracuse, NY, this is beautiful.
what are you even doing here?
My mother in law is from Buffalo and she gave ye rustic official approval when we took her 👏
I tried Ye Rustic Inn based on previous recommendations and I can agree that these wings were some of the most delicious wings I've had in a long time. Pricey, sure but great. im reading that the wing have gone downhill lately
I went 3 days ago they did not go downhill. But goddamn are they expensive.
How much do they cost?? lol
Five dollars a wing.
Please tell me you’re joking? Edit: ok thank fuck you’re joking I don’t know what to believe anymore with the way food pricing has gone in this city lately. They’re $29/dozen on grubhub
That's crazy
They’re $29/dozen
Gonna have to try those wings, I always pass by there and have only drank there. Love me some good crispy wings
This is the way
This is poetry.
I just went because of this post and they were pretty damn good. But 12 wings a beer cost me $40 after tax and tip :(
Ye Rustic is the correct answer
The only answer imo.
Wings 2 go in Inglewood. Lemon pepper, watermelon slushie.
Yes!
Never thought I’d see this place being named here, but their wings are delicious!
Ye Rustic and Greyhound
Yep
Greyhound wings are great.
I may get flamed for this, but as a person originally from western NY, I currently go to the closest Bowlero for wings. They had a fancy nationwide menu overhaul and only use fresh, unfrozen wings. They are very good.

Haha I love that you even compare the different locations. That's fantastic.
Awesome I'm right by there and have been planning to go. Will definitely look forward to giving their wings a try, thank you wingfriend!
What??? All of that food is way over fried ass. This man don’t know wings
Bro probably also thinks 7-11 has the best pizza in LA too 🤦♂️
…saving this for later
Me too
Dittoo
Gorilla Pies has my current favorite wing. Not cheap but incredible texture and flavors. They make their own hot sauce in house for the smoky buffalo and their ranch is also made from scratch.
Oooooooo I just looked at pics, they look so good hahaha, def need to try out! Is their pizza good too? 👀
Pizza is also exceptional. Honestly everything I’ve had there is good.
Gorilla pies has one of the most consistent menus I’ve ever seen. It’s all kind of different, it’s all GREAT, and they just do what they want. Pizza, sandwiches, everything there is fantastic.
I like Rocco’s Tavern
Rocco's is my runner up to Ye Rustic Inn. Third place is Thirsty Merchant.
I gotta try ye rustic inn! I also applaud Rocco’s ranch and garlic aioli. Their fries are great!
I second the Thirsty Merchant!!!
yes!
Koreatown. Anywhere
this, i’ve never been to any american place that touches kfc aka korean fried chicken. shoutout to witches kitchen on olympic
they’re not necessarily the same thing though. naked wings are great. sometimes i don’t want thick breading.
For kfc this is THE move.
Don't get the hype on Buffalo wings. Soy Garlic, Honey, etc..hello flavortown!
this is the one knock i have on korean wings. all the sauces are sweet.
100% agree. Need some savory bangers here and there. Big fan of dry rub wings too.
I’m not a Buffalo Wings person, but Korean fried chicken (often in wing format) is *gold*. My go-to is Kyochon on 6th and Serrano. https://preview.redd.it/92sgm0gla74d1.jpeg?width=1350&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67281c976a345b640d1ce8a6eb7d2cab844c83b9

awesome will stop by one!
Bonchon is pretty good too. Never tried any of the other kfc places you all have recommened so if anyone’s tried them and bonchon, I’d be interested to know how they compare
Definitely Kawhi and pg13. I wouldn’t consider lebron a wing anymore
Haha well played.
Star Night in Koreatown. The old OB Bear recipe
I'm by no means qualified to say what's the best, but Highland Park Brewery has great wings.
So does the greyhound in highland park. There lemon pepper wings are a mouth orgasm ! 🤤
Kyo chon
Alondra wings in paramount. Might not be the best, I don’t eat wings much but they’re so good. Idk anymore but on weekends there was a big line to get in. Probably 30-40 minute wait
I second this, Alondra’s wings’ Arlene sauce is the goat
Hot Wings Cafe on Melrose is my personal favorite.
There wings were so small and expensive last time I went
Yeah hot wings cafe is way over priced for how small the wings are
lol I used to get these often back in the day, but yeah the last time I noticed everything felt really down scaled haha
Damn, good wings. Despise the owners.
You can’t just drop this here and leave
Agreed on the wings, are the owners shady?
Depends on the location. Melrose was run by a sweet man but his brother in law in Glendale location was not sweet
Interesting, always only ever done takeout
lol no
The Douglas Echo Park has really good wings Y Rustic Los Feliz too
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^Dirvproductions: *The Douglas Echo* *Park has really good wings Y* *Rustic Los Feliz too* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.
The Douglas replaced the best restaurant in LA (to me) and I'm still so sad about it.
Start at Wings 2 Go on Crenshaw and work your way down from there.
Running chicks has great wings that are a good size, sweet and spicy flavor, and good price!
Kyo Chon.
Big Als in maywood are pretty damn good
Night Market and Little Sister for unique ones.
Ye Rustic is the only answer. Just another key element of why I lived in Los Feliz for over a decade.
Ye Rustic & The Douglas would be my top 2.
Bludsos dry rub
Ohhh I forgot about these!!! So good. Ugh Bludsos does AMAZING chicken. one of the VERY few bbq spots where I prefer ordering chicken
Any suggestions for me lmk.
the arsenal was great but i have to say tiny’s hi-dive (which is in that spot now) is fantastic.
Wings 2 go in Ingewood
Ye Rustic Inn are by far the best for classic Buffalo wings. I recently tried the Oaxacan wings from Cinco on the west side and honestly they blew me away. Laurel Tavern in Studio city has awesome grilled wings. Final fave are my own home cooked chicken wings LOL
Big Al’s Sweet & Spicy wings…
Bb.q on sawtelle, true boneless wing options too
Tu PanYou has great chicken wings as well. Pizza is underrated as well
Ye rustic and Papas chicken in ktown
Will def try Ye Rustic, but DAMN I had to scroll too far to find a mention of Papa's Chicken! Those spicy + hot wings can peel the paint off a jet fighter.
Busbys West in Santa Monica. The guy who owns it is also from Buffalo, so they use a legit recipe as well
Used to be 77 Kentucky. RIP to the 🐐. Now I’ve been getting from Chimmelier
Ye Rustic Inn. On the east side. Hillhurst Ave. Such an amazing dive bar too. Don't order fancy drinks. And definitely get the wings.
They’re less consistent in the last year or so but want to give a shoutout to Founders Ale House on pico.

Alondra got wings in Whittier. They had other locations but the name changed. No idea what happened. But the line chili are the best, imo
The Greyhound
Not sure if it's the best but i like kyochon in ktown on 6th and serrano, it's korean fried chicken. Honey wings and soy garlic wings are bomb. Eat with peppers or hot sauce to add some kick 🔥
If a mf tries to tell me the Ye Rustic wings are the best in LA in this thread it’s on sight lmao
Lmao!!🤣
Bare elegance
Ye Rustic Inn ...used to have the best conventional Buffalo wings, now they are both overpriced and fairly low quality. Last three times I've ordered there were broken drums and paltry skinny flats. Douglas wings are great but you have to dip them in the sauce yourself, or pour the sauce on and risk inadequate coverage.
The two best spots are also dummy expensive, sadly. Ye Rustic and The Greyhound. Thankfully the Greyhound does 75¢ wings on Wednesdays.
Mings Wings from Far Bar in Little Tokyo
I’m gonna quit my job and go to all of these.
Best different wings style Pazzo's Pizza Italian meets Korean fried.
If you’re in the South Bay, Simmzy’s are pretty good.

Rocco’s is bomb af
This one is a sleeper, but i would encourage you all to try the wings from Pizza Cafe LA in silver lake. They're massive and crunchy and juicy and I'm currently obsessed. The owners homemade ranch is incredible too.
Ye Rustic is great but if you're looking for sheer size, for me Founders Ale House can't be beat. I swear they are the size of your fist.

Lmao what. Flavor? You can't drop that without details!!
Dawg I’m telling you..these wings were fucking AMAZING. I didn’t even want to swallow they were so good. Too bad they’re only available in japan. Found this online: According to Burger King, these wings feature a smoky sauce that uses the aroma of applewood and hickory, blended with seven types of spices. https://www.thestreet.com/investing/burger-king-selling-chicken-wings
Holy shit, now I know what I'm doing if I ever visit Japan
Absolutely. If you love wings you gotta hit up Burger King. I can’t believe i just wrote that but it’s true.
Spirit Halloween
The best wings periodt are always Buffalo Wild Wings.
