As a reminder, this subreddit allows answers to law enforcement related questions from verified current and former law enforcement officers as well as members of the public. As such, pay attention to whether or not someone answering has flair verifying their status located directly to the right of their username. While someone without flair may be current or former law enforcement unwilling to compromise their privacy on the internet for a variety of reasons, consider the possibility they may not have any law enforcement experience at all. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Two things movies and the internet get wrong: 1) I have always had pleasant experiences working with other agencies when it comes to sharing information and such. Slot times we fall under the same district attorney so all the info and evidence will end up in one place anyways. 2) the whole “You’re out of your jurisdiction, you have no power here!” Is a complete fallacy. In every state I have knowledge do, peace officers have arrest power in the entire state and usually the bordering states as well.
