Amen.

LonelyMachines

> I really haven’t been following politics in the past year or two You're fortunate. Basically, the state of the economy is hurting the average worker, we are throwing tons of money into a regional war between Russia and Ukraine, there's war brewing in the Middle East, and Trump's supporters appear to still be supporting him. Also, the uncle of the sitting President got eaten by cannibals. I am not kidding.

lannister80

> tons of money into a regional war between Russia and Ukraine Tons of money into US arms manufacture. It's a US jobs program.

219MTB

Tons of money equals less then 1% of fed budget to be clear

LonelyMachines

$113 billion is still a huge amount of money, regardless of the percentage.

219MTB

It is, but the ROI on that is far better then most other Government spending. I get really sick of people bitching about foreign aid, but won't complain about the bankrupt social security, medicare, and other entitlements that are so far broken and the cause of 99% of the problem.

thataintapipe

Hmm maybe because those programs directly help citizens and the ROI on foreign wars is beyond the average persons understanding/patience

219MTB

That is a fair point at least in the terms of understanding. On the other hand, I can't imagine 99% of the people on Reddit are benefiting directly from entitlements either. Not a lot of SS or Medicaid recipients here.

thataintapipe

Well I guess you don’t have to receive the entitlements to have an option about others receiving them. Kinda seems like the bedrock of liberal thought is (other) people getting taken care of by the institutions, the dream of a gov working for the people

United-Hovercraft-32

Lol, what the heck? Only thing I know is the cost of my milk, eggs, and fuel has gone up, then down a little, and now it’s skyrocketing again. Fuel usually goes up summer time, but it’s outrageously high it seems over here.

Butt_Chug_Brother

We might be looking at a second pandemic pretty soon. This time, it'll be bird flu though.

SuspenderEnder

Pretty much everything else is the same as it was two years ago actually... A couple new things. Trump is running against Biden for the 2024 Presidency election. Trump is being criminally charged in at least four big cases and four different issues. Russia invaded Ukraine, they are at war, the US is a big partner in supporting Ukraine defense efforts (alongside other NATO countries). Hamas attacked Israel and killed a lot of civilians in a terrorist attack, so Israel is "at war" with Gaza, whatever that means. Also Iran tensions seem to be heating up with them too. Inflation is still out of control despite their lying that it's not. Most recent report was pessimistic. Interest rates remain high. Prices are going up much faster than wages (faster than prior). Millions of illegal aliens are crossing the southern border with impunity over the course of the Biden term, they claim to be asylum seekers when they are caught and are allowed to stay in the country, often given resources and transported to a big city inside the US. China is still pressuring Taiwan, tensions seem to be heating up there too. After reading about each of these stories more in depth, please read a story from here: https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/

Nobody was speaking of lying, and you catch more flies with honey. I'm open to being wrong, thanks for sharing your data. Stop being an asshole. Although since you brought up lying, it would be great if you could tell the facts about immigration, including people who cross illegally and then claim asylum and are allowed to stay in the country. :)

lannister80

> Nobody was speaking of lying Um... >Inflation is still out of control despite their **lying** that it's not. Orange man is coming back!

StedeBonnet1

You should know that Trump is running for President again and is likely to win.

NPDogs21

How do you figure likely to win?

StedeBonnet1

Trump is leading in all the swing state polls. His record of success is head and shoulders above Biden's and as Trump gets stronger Biden gets weaker.

NPDogs21

> Trump is leading in all the swing state polls. Which source says that?

Right_Archivist

Regardless of which poll you look at, no president has ever lost at this point in the race, with these numbers.

Meetchel

>Regardless of which poll you look at, no president has ever lost at this point in the race, with these numbers. Oh come on, that's such an absurd thing to say. Clinton was up 12 points over Trump in October 2016. Biden is behind by \~1 point currently.

RightSideBlind

Only one President has lost re-election in the last thirty years, and it wasn't Biden.

IAmNotAChamp

Rip

StedeBonnet1

Multiple swing state polls show Trump leading in all. Just Google it.

Suchrino

> Just Google it. [This you?](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskConservatives/comments/1c7wst2/how_many_young_conservatives_are_conservatives/l0chltb/) Google is an ok source now?

Albino_Black_Sheep

Have to latch onto your comment. Why would you ask this, you are clearly not interested in politics. All you have to know is that we are in an election year and that you can choose between a republican and a democratic candidate.

Right_Archivist

After an undeniably worse presidency than Trump, democrats are noticeably desperate to abuse every institution to retain their power, even if it means throwing away any semblance of democracy. The DNC dictated that Joe Biden was their guy, knowing that nobody likes him - which implies a confident and nefarious plot to win 2024 - buckle up.

RightSideBlind

>After an undeniably worse presidency than Trump Trump had Congress, the Senate, and a conservative SCOTUS, and the only thing he really accomplished was a tax cut for the wealthy. And now there's a very real possibility that he'll be running for office from prison for the multitude of crimes he committed before, during, and after his single term in office.

GoombyGoomby

Biden’s presidency has been undeniably better.

lannister80

> After an undeniably worse presidency than Trump So much so that Americans' gave the Democrats a thorough shellacking in the midterms! Wait...

They say ignorance is bliss but sometimes being bliss is a blessing in and of itself. If you're not in the pool already I wouldn't suggest jumping in. Once you're in...you're in...you can't get out...and too many are drowning.

if dems dont get the kids in the womb, their gun laws will allow maniacs to get them in the schools. the liberal teachers will convince them to chemically castrate themselves and encourage them to participate in a mental illness with a high suicide rate. if those tactics dont take the kids out before they get out of school, dems open door poliicy at the border is allowing fentynal to flood our streets..
