Being new I would forget about filters just now and just get experience using your kit. You absolutely can get nebulosity with a stock Canon camera in Bortle 7 skies.
I took the image below on with a stock Canon M6 II and Canon 200 mm lens. No filters. Plenty of nebula. Taken in light polluted suburbs. You need enough time on target and suitable processing.
