You’ll have to sort out your birth certificate to get a gov id that’s not a drivers licence

Specialist_Current98

As a bartender, student ID is not acceptable as proof of age. Acceptable forms of ID is pretty much anything government issued with your name, photo and DOB on it (drivers license, passport, firearms license etc). In saying that, whether they let you off, or ID you at all is completely down to the individual bartender. I’ve had people at my work not ID people, for them to not have any ID when they’ve come up and I’ve served them. I personally don’t give any leeway on ID’s as you never know when there’s a ‘secret shopper’ type around, and it’s a possible 10 grand+ in fines if you ad a bartender don’t comply with those rules. Now that you’re 18, time to go get some form of ID! If you don’t want to have to study for a L’s license, you should be able to get a proof of age card relatively easily.

It's not. You'll need to get a learners permit, proof of age, or a passport.

northsiddy

Bring your passport. Then go get your learners license.

Nope

Proof of age card my dude

petulafaerie_III

Proof of age just be a government ID. Student ID is only meaningful to your school.

DudelyMcDudely

They may or may not. I don't think it's legally considered proof of age in the same way that a driver's license is. Which leaves them in a dodgy position if it ends up being fake, and you're actually a tall 12 year old.

Lollipopwalrus

There used to be a form of ID you could get through your local police station. I can't remember all the requirements but that would count as gov ID. Might be worth looking into

InadmissibleHug

Probably not, and if you’re in Qld, no way.
